Confirmed on BBC, Smith to Fulham for £500000. Sad to see him go. maybe for the best. Good luck but not when you're playing against us.

Picture of him holding a Fulham shirt so definitely done now

We have just sold fulham the partnership that kept us up last season. can't see that as being too smart. liked smith and think they will do well at fulham

Seems cheap to me :(

Not surprised at the deal but I am with the fee if 500k is right.

5.) 01 Sep 2014
Totally disgusted with that, I haven't seen anything from our new batch of strikers to suggest they will do better. Smith can get you a goal when you need one and is almost impossible to beat in the air.

Thought it was cheap too. Maybe MC felt sorry for fleecing Fulham earlier this summer.

I understand the sale though. Matt Smith does not fit the way we want to play. He's wonderful though for the way we actually play.

I wish him all the best, except when facing us.

Best of luck to him but think 500k is way too cheap should have been 3 times

Bet this deal was done at the same time as Ross went to Fulham. Ross was never worth 11 mil. Bet that price was for them both and Smith was held back until we got our strike force in place. MC 's way of softening the blow of loosing McCormick, tell the fans I got 11 mil for him.

Wouldn't worry to much gives us extra space for loan player after transfer day, just hope get decent coach cross fingers

10.) 02 Sep 2014
I presume this means Brian McDermot will arrive as manager at Fulham soon.

11.) 02 Sep 2014
Sad to see Smith go as he gave us options -- but if we are not playing hoof ball there is no point in keeping him.

12.) 02 Sep 2014
Sad to see Smith go, but playing it on the floor won't suit Smith.

13.) 02 Sep 2014
Thought he would have been worth 2 million all day long.

14.) 02 Sep 2014
Just heard a whisper that it was 50 on top of buying his contract out which he only signed a few weeks ago and was for 3 years so maybe not as bad as first thought if it's true.

I for one think it's good business we now have strikers who can play hold up the ball and have skill not just good in the air (smith) or wondering when next wage rise coming ( ross) just need rid of hunt and morrison now and the old useless midfielders then we can look forward with a bit of hope for the first time in years, please cellino get lennon or Clarke to manage / coach buy back the ground and sort the training facilities out then sit back and reap what you have sown mot mot mot
