It could be said that the three days recovery time after a game that we definitely raised against Ipswich did take its toll on a handful of our players, certainly the very young Archie. In hindsight we are all the very much wiser as to who should have been rested and who should have played and which position.

In the end it should have been a game that we could have scrapped to get that one nil win, even with the tired legs.
Sadly Preston’s game mostly, like so many teams we play against is to frustrate and spoil a game, Meslier’s sending off was a classic example of exactly how to achieve that.
Our own Alioski did a similar thing to Pepe of Arsenal if you remember.
Meslier is just a kid and will pay the heavy price for his naivety, you usually have to make a mistake at least once to not do it again.

There are two teams now in close proximity of playing that achieved a result against us by playing anti football, we’ve got to learn how to not get frustrated with these teams and edge these results out.
You will not beat these type of teams three or four nil, it doesn’t work like that. Farke I’m certain knows this already but I don’t think some of his players quite understand his message. He has got to teach them about the patience in how to dispatch teams like these.
We simply can’t lose too many of these type of games if we want auto promotion.

On the James debate i do feel he’s not consistent enough but I will say well done for drawing in that foul to win a penalty. At the end of the day it’s that kind of thing you need to win a game against a team that’s sole intention is to frustrate its opponent.
Gnonto needs to start a few games to get him up to match speed. He’s inaffective coming on as a sub. Some grown up choices for Farke to make to get us over the line.!

Agree with most of your post OP, they definitely set out to spoil the game and to wind up our players with niggling fouls and if you get a soft ref like yesterday, then the result is often as was. I felt Cree and Georgi got little protection and were chopped down time and time again, fair play to them for not rising to the bait. You could see mesliers blood was hot head to head and their player raised it to get the reaction he needed, Illan need to learn from it, do not raise your hand in pro football. I think Farke willl have us able to deal with these teams in the 2nd half of the season, but also believe we need to strong ref to make sure the game is played fairly. a few early yellows for their persistent foulers will calm them down and allow us to play more. No doubt it will be a bumpy ride, strap yourselves in MOT.

Farke failure to rest and rotate for the fixture tactically inept. Go buy LB, CD, CAM and CF for a chance at automatic.

Agree with all of you (it must be Christmas! ) .

Naivety on Mes’ part, PNE set out their stall to wind us up and did so very effectively and yet another poor display from the ref didn’t help either.

Have said it in previous posts, we need at least a couple of good, solid performers to come in on loan in the January window - starters as opposed to bench warmers but people who can do a job whenever they are called upon.

" patience is not the key. word OP . '. attitude' most definitely is more pertinen

Beginning of December I stated that Leeds would slide down a few places and lose most of their Decemveraway games ( so far lost to Sunderland and Preston. and they will likely lose to West Brom

The continual away malaise is increasingly evident of

1) the unacceptable lackadaisical insipid ATTITUDE of many of the players away from home. they start each game very slow uninterested unmotivated never looking like scoring and taking the game to the opposition and that continues throughout match.

How many of these players are busting a gut 100% effort each away game to get Leeds promoted. very few as they know that they will be gone to other clubs end of season

Leeds United badly need some winners and leaders in that team that want tne very best for Leeds United

2) Farke is increasingly looking to not be what Mr Marathe and Leeds fans had hoped : he evidently can't motivate this team ; away from home

His decision making, tactics is questionabke to appalling at times esp away from home as well documented

Leicester and Southampton will be 1st and 2nd as I predicted

Leeds unless they sign a CAM and a LB minimum and ideally a CF and CD too will fail ìn playoffs let alone autos

And as for Dan James .7 goals 6 assists this season ( Leeds and Wales ) he is one of the few who gives 100% every game in effort and dedication.

Op as you well know
Ipswich put 4 past them
Foxes 3 past them, seems a cop out then to suggest oh th3y can't be beaten like that

They can be, bit we need a team ready + willing to do it

With a CF in his preferred role and mid's not playing as Full backs, arxhies inexperience in role was shown up again yesterday sadly.

Preston's previous 2 home games

They lost 2 nil and lost 5 ( five ) 1

Ther are extremely beatable if a team with the right ATTITUDE and desire plays them .

Yet we have beaten both Leicester and Ipswich away.
Let’s not forget Miller had an outstanding game against us and the ref being naive enough to get sucked into Preston’s so called gamesmanship.
Also Piroe has score 9 goals half way through the season, seems to be working ok so far, especially when we play against low block frustrating teams where goals are difficult to come by.

For Baz we need a GK, CB, LB, RB, Mid, AM, CF 2 x wingers new coach and new owners all in the January transfer window to get promotion.
Well good luck with that.
Yes we are not winning enough of our away games, why that is I don’t know but I’m sure you’re going to tell us it’s because of our away shirts! Really

We are definitely going to miss Rodon against WBA and it must be a concern for Farke if we lost him to a heavy injury for a number of weeks. Most certainly with Byram also and are positions that if it is possible to fortify then it might help our cause for promotion.

I still think in the second half of the season we will be having more success against these teams who are set on spoiling a game to get a result.
Farke is the man to get this right, he’s done it before, twice.

Is this tbe same OP reasoning that scoffed all last season of my notion that Leeds United would be relegated?

Sorry OP I hope you are proved right this season though.

Baz, Mr Serendipity; only reminds us of his correct predictions.

You may well have predicted relegation Baz, it's as easy one to see and an easy one to forget if it doesn't happen. No one, not even the all-seeing Baz predicted 3 points from our last 10 games, so relegation was not a forgone conclusion. Especially after we just appointed "a proper EPL manager with experience" after "Brenty"

Seem to remember you predicting Ange Postecoglou would be a disaster in the EPL or Kamara was "wouldn't cut it. " Rutter this, Rutter that. Darlow is a "proper keeper. "

Everton will never have points deducted

So far you have predicted 13th, 11th, "play-offs at best", "possibly automatic, " and even relegation. What's is it going to be after this weekend Baz?

1 month ago, Leicester and Ipswich were "nailed on" for automatic, now it seems Leicester and Southampton are your [new?, Old, the same? ] for automatic.

Lol Ani somewhat erroneous post from you .

1.you " seem to remember" wrongly ?re Ange Posteclogou . never made a post about him certainly not re EPL suitability

2.Kamara " wouldn't cut it " nope again never stated this. ?? ( he has improved though from a inauspicious start)

3.yep I admit I was wrong about Darlow ( sadly ) .

4.Yep I was also wrong about Everton points deduction ( forgot to consider the looming threat of an EPL independent regulator ) but we shall see what happens at the appeal ?

5 my league position prediction of Leeds after transfer window closed ( so since Sept 1 remains at 6th position playoffs. but as I have said before IF Leeds sign quality in Jan window that would change to a higher position depending on personnel recruited

4.Leicester and Southampton are my initial 1st and 2nd pre season top 2 and then at end of summer window Leicster and Ipswich

Be honest Ani .2 of those 3 teams will extremely likely get auto promotion

Cheers.

Ani, I don’t even bother to tell Baz that he gets the large majority of his so called perfect predictions completely wrong. I don’t want to upset him ?.

Baz, I accept my post was somewhat out of character, but you do have this belief that its ok to keep calling out folks out who don't actually agree with you; I was merely doing the same.

Everything is opinion; we should respect everyone's, even it you don't to subscribe or agree with them.

No doubt, under normal circumstances, the three relegated sides should be in the mix for promotion, however, we didn't start the season in any way like a normal relegated side for all the reasons we know. At the time, I thought Chris and Aus were bonkers to be complaining about our poor start with 40+ games to go, but as it can now be seen that actually was and has been a big deal in the shake up. Take them 6 games away and the top for are within 4 points of each other; and until 3 games ago, we would have been top [minus the first games]. It is what it is.

If 6th was / is your prediction [mine was 7th for the record], then you cannot have any complaints, since we have more away wins than anyone below us in the league, and 9 points ahead of your prediction.

This is where I am now:

I am disappointed with the recent "unexpected" performances, notably, Sunderland, Coventry and Preston, though if I am being honest I was fearful for both of those two games; nonetheless, we could have won them both. All I want is for us to be in the mix, to win more than we lose, and hopefully be in the shakeup come April. There is plenty to happen yet, but the chances of auto is becoming less likely, obviously, unless we or them have a marked change of fortune. Maybe Southampton being in the mix is no bad thing; they are the only team who have given us a real beating this season so far; they have to play the top two as well, so they can't all win.

I will be happy to end up in the play-offs, despite our record in them; by implication, it will be the better teams, so we might just do a bit better? But here is the thing, we or lose, it would have been a much much better season that the last miserable two, so in a way, I would be content with that.
