hi guys
need a bit of advise, thinking of taking my grandson who is 4 to Dundee game. his mum my daughters all for it. my son in law is dead against it (man utd fan} . his other granddad is a Bradford fan wants to take him there. should I put my foot down, buy the kit £32 make it a great day out. go in soccer city before game. burger programme etc. thoughts as this is important in his life development. cheers guys

My brother in law kept promising my nephew he would take him to ER. He didn't and one of his friends dads got hospitality at old trafford and took him there. Rest is history and I made sure my boy went to ER before anyone else got to him. I now live in Cheshire so you can imagine how many MUFC 'fans' there are around. That said, if he wanted to support his local team, CAFC, then I would be happy for him.

{Ed013's Note - I would have thought around Cheshire they would be Man City and Liverpool, isn't it a little far up North for MUFC fans ;-)

Ok gaz1966 here goes. took my grandaughter 16 years ago to her first game. at that time we were prem and told her she would never forget it as she would make more mates in one day than anywhere else. now at 19 she has season tkt, still goes to away games on bus with me and my mates and now has loads memories and her own leeds mates. she says. papa 16 years ago you were so right and I am as proud as punch of her. so don, t miss the chance pal. on and on MOT

You're mistake was letting daughter marry inappropriately. You are now faced with the old nature versus nurture issue. The answer to your problem is obvious, get yourself together man and face up to your responsibilities. As for buying the lad a kit. perhaps a tattoo.
