Now why the hell are we selling, sorry giving away Tom Lees to Sheff Wednesday only to replace him with a player who has no experience in the championship.

Now most of you may want to raise that he didn't do so well last year and made a few mistakes, but I would rather have a player who is born and bred Leeds .

AND NO FEE? WHAT IS THE POINT OF THAT? Does not make financial sense.

I agree ds. Very strange he's going on a free transfer with two years left on his contract. OK he's had an indifferent 18 months but if he gets his confidence back is a top class championship CB. Personally I would of thought 400-600 grand a fair price for Tom.

None of our new signings have c'ship experience, lees has gone backwards over last two seasons and always looks vulnerable to me, good decision.

Morph, I would disagree. But we are all entitled to our opinion.

It doesn't make financial sense to sell him. A fee should be sought for a 23 year old championship CB with 2 years left on his contract.

Additionally it doesn't make squad sense, even if he doesn't start and a new pairing is opted for. We still need a squad to challenge.

And yes he may have gone backwards over the last 2 years, but he is just 23 and just maybe he may go forward in the next year.

I fear this is just getting rid of a player because someone is interested and for the sake of it, to "release wages".

Ahh, well.

I agree that is a strange move not getting any money, but the right move in moving him on, we need to get rid of the under performers if we are to keep moving forwards, it just seems because he came through the system at Leeds that is tinged with disappointment as well.

My only concern is that we still have no more confirmed signings, I know we are close to signing two young players who appear to have real pedigree but there appears to be no fees involved, though obviously their wages will fairly high.

We moved on a lot of players in the summer and now Tom Lees and saved a lot of wages as a result. These again were all good decisions, we then signed some new players, but we must be well in credit so far as money is concerned as well as 11 million to spend from RMsi transfer.

Our transfer dealings seem to take an age to complete, we are waiting for paperwork seems to be the main reason. I would really like to see some positive business sooner rather than later we still need a centre back two wingers and a centre forward with not a lot of time left to bed them in before Millwall.

I wish Tom all the best but sorry not good enough to wear the Leeds shirt imo

I think it's a great decision and am delighted I've always felt that because Lees came through the youth setup he was given a huge amount of leeway.

If he wasn't a product of the youth system he'd have been shipped out after a year because he's constantly getting caught out and making terrible decisions which lead to goals conceded. With him gone I think that's about 10 goals less we'll concede this year.

I'd also like to mention I appreciate the level of commitment and effort Lees has given us during his career and genuinely wish him the best in his career but I feel he was never good enough to be a Leeds player.

Tom lees is not as good as you all seem to think. Played in all our thrashings last season, 6-0, 5-1,4-0, 5-0 and 2-0 to rochdale. The lad can't defend.

First of all GL to Lees in his new venture.

Not getting a fee is a bit strange especially from MC. A no fee now but with a heavy sell on fee or payment through appearances would make good financial sense. I can't believe it is as simple as have him to free up wages.

D.s. I agree to a point whether he is worth a fee, maybe depending on wages for next two years, hard to say without knowing the facts.

Thought he would be a mainstay of our defence a year or so ago, but has fallen behind IMO.

Pearce has taken a bit to settle, but shows all the commitment I thought lees would being a leeds lad etc

It's an area we need to strengthen for sure. Pearce would get my vote for being captain, much better concentration
