Looks like name check brother a diver.

Window opens today. Let’s hope they do some early business and have identified targets.
Many rumors. Guess we’ll find out when signed; also get players sold that aren’t in plans.
Still hoping Amps has convinced Wilson to come over and, as stated before, I’d go for Summerville and offer them James or Piroe and cash.

Still talk of Trafford and Pope. Think former too expensive and Pope too old, is he 35?

3

14 Jun 2026 22:59:08
Piroe has stated he won't go to Champo MW. I reckon he will try and see out his final year to go on a free.

No chance Leeds are signing Trafford or Summerville.

Very slim chance of Leeds signing Wilson, imo.

3

15 Jun 2026 11:21:46
Think Piroe said no to the Championship for a January move.

The board have to play out goings much, much harder than they have previously.

So many need moving on this summer to help generate funds for extra in comings.

Recruitment was decent last summer, needs to be as good or better this summer, but they must do way, way better at getting players out the door & for a good price, no give aways.

3

15 Jun 2026 13:37:51
Love to have Wilson, but somehow can't see it happening. Not convinced we should go back in for Jimmy - probably too expensive for us now.

I'm going to have faith in our recruitment team. They didn't do too bad a job last summer. Stach, Bijol, Gudmundssn, DCL plus Nmecha all turned out to be excellent signings.

More of the same this summer, please.

3

15 Jun 2026 14:23:53
Davey, getting certain players out for good fees is needed, but I remain unconvinced that Paraag, Underwood and co can do it.

Baz summer tip.. Piroe goes overseas in cut price deal or he leaves on free next summer.

Agree with Cleggy's post.

1

15 Jun 2026 15:23:17
I agree, Baz, that yes, the recruitment was decent last summer, but they have a lot to prove when it comes to offloading players.

So many need to go & be upgraded on for next season.

Wober
Schmidt
Harrison
Piroe

To name but a few.

One bit of early good news, Cucurella leaving Chelski and off to Madrid. That's one I won't be sorry to see the back of.

14 Jun 2026 20:48:17
Ok I've had a few now, but are Leeds United players that crap that none of them are getting a start?
Tuned in to watch Okafor the other night and then tonight Tanaka is on the bench. WTF.

2

14 Jun 2026 21:52:11
Odd you didn't mention Aaronson cork. 😂
The Okafor one was very odd, the main Swiss success came from out wide and yet he wasn't brought on when Vargas was subbed.
I'm hoping AO will get on in 2nd half.

1

14 Jun 2026 22:24:07
Okafor is perhaps a little overrated by some of us. Bless. Maybe not quite as good as we think for international starts.

1

14 Jun 2026 22:31:59
Would be amazed if Gudmundsson doesn't start tomorrow - unless he's injured?

1

14 Jun 2026 23:05:31
Would think GG gets some mins.

2

14 Jun 2026 23:13:35
Not sure about GG.. but seem to recall Tanaka often starts for Japan.

1

15 Jun 2026 01:32:25
I was thinking Tanaka would come on as a 2nd half sub, but when they went 2:1 down, it was logical that the subs would mostly be forwards.

2

15 Jun 2026 14:00:14
Gudmundsson played [well, if anyone watched] and Nmecha scored.

1

15 Jun 2026 14:05:49
Wrong Nmecha, wish we had that one, a great player!

4

15 Jun 2026 15:53:22
Hehe.. The Germany match is the only one I haven't watched so far [expected a trouncing, so wasn't interested]. I concede, when I saw the result, I was surprised, as I was sure "ours" hadn't gone! lol.

14 Jun 2026 16:19:20
Who remembers the all Orange kit for a one of game I believe in 70/71.

2

14 Jun 2026 17:16:16
Best forgotten.

3

13 Jun 2026 21:31:56
We have played in red on a few occasions during the Revie years, I believe.

3

14 Jun 2026 01:41:13
Indeed, we did on a few occasions. I'd successfully erased that from my memory til now, so thanks (or maybe no thanks) for reminding me. Not a mistake we should repeat now, though.

2

14 Jun 2026 01:47:58
Yep, Mick, we did.

Pretty sure red kits and white kits are the most successful colour kits in football, and also in other sports.

The great genius visionary Don Revie had the foresight to change our home kit to the pristine all white a la Real Madrid, with great success.

He also decided that Leeds United should have an all red away kit, similar to that of Liverpool, and possibly as a nod to England's World Cup winning red shirts.

And indeed, Leeds United had success in all red: we won the 1971 UEFA Cup trophy vs Juventus, playing the away match in all red. 🏆

The fact that our hated rivals Man U have red shirts is, I believe, a reason we went to all yellow away shirts in 1973.

2

14 Jun 2026 12:09:26
We beat Derby in red in the 1973 FA Cup Quarter Final.

2

14 Jun 2026 13:59:46
So, what actually was the colour of our away kit before 73 then, Baz?

2

14 Jun 2026 14:36:08
No red. Regardless. Subject over. No no no.

0

14 Jun 2026 14:47:52
All yellow away shirts came in 72/73, Corkey.

All red away shirts 70 to 71 /72.

And also white shirts with red shorts.

A ghastly, bizarre, all-orange kit, 1970 (which we played for one match, lost in, and thankfully never wore again) .

Throughout the 1960s, we had blue away shirts, all blue kit.

Or blue shirts with white shorts, and blue socks or white socks, depending on whom we were playing.

Also, away white shirts with blue shorts and white socks.

And white shirts and white shorts with red socks away, too.

There are a few other combos too.

3

14 Jun 2026 14:52:49
* Red away also in 1973 Cup QF, as Gelderd has reminded me.

1

14 Jun 2026 17:13:55
What's with all the different club badges throughout the years?

1

14 Jun 2026 17:28:38
Yep, there's been a lot, Corkey..

Some of my faves, in order, are.

- the smiley face badge
- the rose badge
- the LUFC badge
- the owl badge
Etc.

Not so much a fan of the Peacock badge.

Think it was changed by our chairman Leslie Silver because he considered it bad luck (it was the club badge of relegation 1982) .

2

14 Jun 2026 20:48:22
I wish people would give up on the Don Revie, Real Madrid thing. Jack Taylor was the manager and Revie a player when Leeds first wore white. In an interview, Big Jack said white was introduced as it was easier to see.

1

14 Jun 2026 20:53:59
I always wondered why Leeds United never had a proper badge and other clubs did?
To me it always made us look not quite legit:
Every big clubs badge never changed much and there's us Leeds united changing it like Baz changes his underwear!

0

14 Jun 2026 22:33:46
In the 50s Leeds United played mostly in blue shirts at home and introduced a white away shirt in 1958.

Jack Taylor became Leeds manager in the summer of 1959, and was replaced by Don Revie in 1961.

It was Don Revie, as manager, who introduced the white shirts as a home kit in the 60s, replacing the blue and gold home kit, telling his players to think in terms of Real Madrid.

No no no and no.

3

13 Jun 2026 10:33:57
No no no no. Wtf. 😩

3

13 Jun 2026 11:16:35
I can put up with the Red Bulls, but the rest is b*******. Are these people insane, or do they not seek fans' opinions? They may get the team to wear them, but replica sales will be pants.
Just don't do it!

5

13 Jun 2026 11:30:30
It's a urine take.

5

13 Jun 2026 11:31:03
That's not going to be our shirt.

4

13 Jun 2026 11:29:43
Rumour or fact?
As JR said replica sales would likely be very low indeed.commercially makes zero sense

4

13 Jun 2026 13:34:38
Surely not.

3

13 Jun 2026 17:21:36
We are being overtaken slowly. Mad, what are they thinking? I do hope no Leeds fan buys this piece of 💩. If they do, I hope they get stick for it. 🤣

3

13 Jun 2026 19:55:02
Well, it's the wrong badge for starters! Can't see us using 2 different badges in 1 season.

2

13 Jun 2026 20:47:53
We did wear red as our away kit in the very early seventies - soon replaced by the classic all yellow away strip.

Agree with JR and Baz. We're not going to sell too many replicas!

3

14 Jun 2026 08:40:53
Come on, guys, clearly not true.
Look at the Leeds badge, it's red. There's no way the 9'ers would let that fly. They have the fans on side, so why score an own goal by doing that?
It's some internet AI mock-up rubbish.

2

14 Jun 2026 10:42:47
Exactly, Dave!

1

14 Jun 2026 23:06:38
Love that, but sadly just an AI mock up.

1

12 Jun 2026 14:11:29
It's rumoured that the 3rd kit is red. Who'd buy it?
No for me.

8

12 Jun 2026 17:23:31
I mentioned that in the tea towel post below. And, I was being serious! We are stuffed now, signing anyone of quality, as no one will want to be at Leeds and play in red, clearly. Sports psychologists everywhere will be going into total meltdown, a' tell thee!

2

12 Jun 2026 18:43:07
Brighty. 🤣 But I must thank thee, you have earned me some serious wedge.

As I had a large wager at Paddy Power this afternoon, that you would post pretty much the above contents. Boy, you didn't let us down!

And also Brighty, some great Don Revie books are on their way to yer by international courier. Enjoy em!

2

12 Jun 2026 20:30:05
More interested in the present and immediate future to be honest, but ta for thinking of me (on all counts) .

1

12 Jun 2026 20:57:59
You're very welcome, Brighty.

I very much doubt the rumoured tea towel strip is going to be the actual home strip this season in any case.

2

12 Jun 2026 21:08:36
Please tell me this isn't serious?

2

13 Jun 2026 19:56:29
Again. The white with stripes has the shield badge. We are wearing the Yorkshire Rose emblem this season, aren't we?

0

12 Jun 2026 13:19:26
Annoying American phrase 1. End line.
Feel free to add chaps.

1

12 Jun 2026 14:29:14
Sockkkerrrr.

4

12 Jun 2026 16:10:37
One "sport" that they refer to as football, where the ball is rarely kicked, and where a "touchdown" does not involve the ball being touched down, and another where they have a "World Series" with no other nations being invited.

3

12 Jun 2026 16:18:56
World Champions - because they only play with themselves.

3

12 Jun 2026 17:25:42
The huge irony with football is that they're so literal with everything else! e.g. Side Walk, Eye glasses etc etc.

1

12 Jun 2026 18:29:08
World Series is actually named after the Daily World, an old newspaper in the States. Still crap though.

0

12 Jun 2026 18:46:39
The cringiest word in the English language.
******* Awesome******.

Vomit inducing.

12 Jun 2026 18:48:08
Welcome back Longlostfan.

2

12 Jun 2026 20:31:31
Add "super" to that one, Chris!
"Oh that's super cool!" 🤮 🤮 🤮

0

13 Jun 2026 10:52:22
Been around Baz, just not posting.
Got told to leave due to negativity, took a hard look at myself, and chose to change angles.

2

13 Jun 2026 11:35:53
Longlostfan, your posts were reasonable and how you felt.

2

13 Jun 2026 14:17:31
They were, but in all honesty, I was spiralling into a very negative place, both here and offline too!
So, thanks to Lad and Alf for calling me out. I needed it, and, in all honesty, they probably helped me see a bigger picture.
Side before self never rang louder.

2

13 Jun 2026 17:19:17
That sounds positive progress, LLF. Glad you're back, and wish you all the best in whatever it is you're getting to grips with. 👍🏼

1

14 Jun 2026 12:00:56
Great post, LLF. None of us know what's going on in our individual lives, and seldom take the time to stand back and consider: is this a positive pastime for me?

Chris, Chris strongly challenged me on my very blinkered and very irrational view of Victor Orta. It had a profound effect; I was taking everything online personally, which was idiotically ridiculous.

I immediately erased Bookface, Insta, even erased Google for a less politicised search engine, and it was incredibly cathartic.

Anyway, great to have you back, now all together Kumbya my Lo.

2

14 Jun 2026 13:51:41
Welcome back LLF.

2

14 Jun 2026 17:26:34
Apologies, LLF, if I upset you. I do seem to recall saying something in a post. Think I can get too defensive when it feels like players and staff get a lot of abuse. Yes, they are well paid, but that doesn't make them less human, and when I see them day in, day out, and won't go as far as saying "friends", but colleagues, it does upset me when I see constant abuse aimed at the same people I then see the day after working 20 hours a day doing their best, and people who may not have the full facts take aim blindly.

So, apologies if my defence of these people took aim at you. It won't have been personal to you.

Glad to have you back. ALAW.

Kevin Sinfield reportedly set to be Knighted in the forthcoming honours list! About time, and well deserved!

8

12 Jun 2026 08:38:43
Much prefer Rugby Union to Rugby League, but well done him.

As for football would love to see Howard Wilkinson upgraded from an OBE to Sir.

And, LUFC and others associated with LUFC, please hurry up with what would be a very well deserved commissioned statue of Leeds United legend Howard Wilkinson.

5

12 Jun 2026 11:19:15
Long overdue.

1

12 Jun 2026 11:36:59
Knighthoods seem to be handed out like no tomorrow these days.
Sinfield, to be fair, has done some serious charity work though.

2

12 Jun 2026 11:55:35
Not much of a rugby fan (either code) , but very well deserved. I was very annoyed when he came second in BBC SPOTY a few years ago to Andy Murray, who'd already won it once anyway.

Definition of Rugby - a game for men with odd-shaped balls.

3

12 Jun 2026 13:58:11
Rugby is a game for barbarians played by gentlemen. Football is a game for gentlemen played by barbarians. (Oscar Wilde) .

4

12 Jun 2026 14:00:55
100% class. Behaviours.

1

12 Jun 2026 14:03:24
Rugby Union, for me, is better than majority of football games nowadays.

So many of today's games are s****.

5

12 Jun 2026 17:26:47
Totally agree, Chris. Best sport in the world is Union!

2

13 Jun 2026 13:39:07
I am not a fan of the honors system, but Kevin Sinfield is deserving of the recognition.

1

13 Jun 2026 17:21:38
Too right feath. The current system is more corrupt than FIFA! That div Khan has destroyed one of the greatest Capitals in the world, and been knighted for it. Disgraceful.
