Looks like MC has pulled the plug on the ladies team in further cost cutting. It sounds mean but probably the right decision. Time to concentrate elsewhere on more important matters.

Not MC, George! Here's
Part of the story as follows may make it bit clearer
Sorry eds if this isn't allowed .
Leeds United Ladies football team are facing an uncertain future amid claims they can no longer use the Whites brand.

The team, who play in the FA National Women’s Premier League, have reportedly given notice to be withdrawn from the competition.

The Leeds United Foundation, who have supported the club financially for the last four years, said it was with “regret” that they can no longer back the team.
Maybe this helps a bit George

Wingy, who you think is in effective charge of the Leeds United foundation? Here's a clue. He's Italian.

3.) 11 Jul 2014
The Leeds United Foundation is a not for profit, grass roots sports charity, that exists to deliver targeted, high quality programmes that have a real and measurable positive impact on and which nurture the relationship between, the club, its fans and its communities. The charity operates under a Board of Trustees, whom provide guidance and support.

The foundation is the way Leeds United reaches out to the community. Whilst it has many contributors, I think that you will find its biggest source of finance by far is LUFC. I am sure that the Ladies Team will not be the only project that will feel the bite.

Why all of sudden does every one care about LLUFC no one goes to watch and I Include myself in that as a ST holder. They have dropped a div this year so will have even less press coverage than before I just can't see the point. It seems to me to be another example of historic overspending which was fine we were flying high but we are a bottom half championship side with half the fans we used to have and less than half the revenues.
Surely the rebuilding of the brand, the 1st team and the fan base has to come above all else at the minute. So we can get back in the top flight and then afford to support things like this. If the Academy is suffering cut backs and may potentially close how can you justify supporting an amateur team in decline?

I don't buy fake support which almost all of us are guilty of where LLUFC are concerned.

Well said GRIMESEY not to be negative but who cares about ladies football anyway? Of course other than ladies. In all honesty can anyone tell me who won the womens Wimbledon? and again who cares?
i understand about equal opportunists and I for one would love a woman in the team if and only if she is as good as a male.
I also understand the disappointment of the LLUFC team but can any of them show me how they improve LUFC? Ahh that's it, they give us a broader fan base. Of course they do that's why so many go to watch them.
Being un- pc is never popular but the truth hurts, let's cut the crap out of LUFC and sorry girls but that is LLUFC, and to add if you gave any of the women of LLUFC the choice to keep playing or let MC invest in the first team what would you choose?

It is also funded by a £320k grant from the BIG Lottery Fund Reaching Communities programme

I watched the Women's final at MK Don's stadium this year and really enjoyed it, although Arsenal completely outclassed Everton.

Must admit though, had the ticket not been free I wouldn't have gone.
