If this was any other relationship, I would have grounds for divorce, citing mental cruelty, torture and emotional abuse.
However, this is not just any other relationship, as my partner for over 46 years has been Leeds United. When we got together, we had some really good times and saw each other at least once a week, usually at their place as my place was too small. But, as time went on, cracks began to appear, there were other people in our relationship that neither of us had any control over. Consequently, these third parties took their toll and we went from bad to worse.
Over the last 15 years we have had to work very hard at our relationship with more downs than ups but we are still together, stronger and full of hope for the future.
Then today happens. Just as I thought we had reached a new understanding, that we would both try and with give and take on both sides, we could reach a higher level, a long awaited goal, a premier standard of a new consciousness. But no. Now I'm not doubting the commitment but it seems that however hard we try, we just seem to have the rug pulled from under us at the last minute.
Now, for 46 years I have been faithful, I have not even glanced at another club (even when that club had a really nice arse) and I will continue to be so for another 46, God permitting. All I ask in return is that we increase our weekly NET worth. Is that too much to ask? I don't think so.
I will for the sake of our relationship, try to put today behind us, without any penalty ( which would go wide anyway) and move forward.
Here's to the next time we see each other. Let's embrace, confess our undying love and kick the rubbish out of anyone that tries to split us up.
Love you Leeds, hugs and kisses

so well said Dj mate,

i like my football teams like i like my wife, ugly yet realiable and get the job done

this just ain't the leeds i fell in love with. I fell in love with wilkos ugly yet effective team, it wasnt always pretty but when it got down to it they made us feel good. Same with Graysons team, not as pretty as the prem boys but often gave them a run for money when it come down to it

the current leeds team is like one of them orange fake birds in the bar with thier fake nails and hair extentions. Might like nice from afar but up close the cracks start to show and when you get her home for a bit you feel dissapointed as she don't know what to do both ends of the bed.
