My first post after reading the comments for some years. I've been a Leeds fan for over 60 years and I've watched how the various successful teams have been built over that time. Previous successful teams have been a mix of home grown talent and strategic acquisitions. I think we will stay up this year but then we need to get real. We have a few players whose ambitions we probably can't satisfy any time soon and we have some glaring weaknesses so we need to trade a few top players in exchange for some proven PL talent at a different stage in their careers. I think Liverpool would like Philips and Rafinha and they'd fit in well there. But think of the players that Liverpool have that we could benefit from. Kelleher, Gomez, Henderson (replaced by Philips) , Ox, Milner, Firminho, Origi, Jones etc. All of these are either getting to the end of their Liverpool careers or not going to be first choice but could be great for Leeds at this stage in our development all over the pitch. Importantly they also play a high press and high energy game but bring some top grade experience. It's not all about money. We could have a mutual benefit arrangement with Liverpool until we're ready to compete with them again.

Welcome onboard 6p. Any reference to John Helm’s commentary on Sir Vincent Jones’ goal against Hull City in your ID? An interesting first post which will no doubt spawn debate! Good to have a new face with some lateral thinking!
