I've been perhaps overly influenced by Brazil 2014, however with the players currently at hockawho's disposal I think a 3-4-1-2 or 3-4-3 winger formation could be worth a go.

Remember, BMcD's answer to our lack of out and out wingers was to employ the 3-5-2, which up until Christmas, before Kebe and Stewart arrived, was working very well (top 6 before Xmas I think?)

Silvestri appears to be at the top of the pecking order, I hope he proves the rumours right about his potential.

I would use Byram in the right wing back role, White on the left, and perhaps Warnock and Berardi as cover for them (rotate as needed)

Pearce (surely named captain) Wooton and Lees as a back 3. I really respect Pearce and Lees for the work they put in, but based on last season, an extra body to clean up may be wise. Especially if Byram et al. are bombing forward.

Central midfield is surely our most well stocked position. I would love to see the likes of Mowatt, Dawson and Cook being given chances, Murohy and Austin are probably first choice for now.

Up front, Smith and Doukora could form a potent partnership, but only if smith gets the aerial supply he needs to be at his best.

Not a fan of Morrison tbh, but if he wants to play, he should be given another chance IMO.

What we are really missing is a number 10, a creative, attack minded player with a good eye.

I hope MC can pull the strings required.

Any suggestions or thoughts re the above?

I like your positivity and it's nice to see, but a Lees/Pearce/Wooton combination could surely only end one way.

Also I'm not sure a Doukara/Smith partnership has the technical skills to be potent enough.

Completely agree with your number 10 idea.

One problem with this is that wootton Pearce and lees all playing means if one gets injured, were a bit stuffed

Zan Benedicic would be our attacking Mid

Yes, quite right re the centre backs. I haven't seen Kilock play, but his name has been about the YEP this pre season. Did he travel with the squad to Italy?

With Zakiucas out, another one in would make sense even if the formation only needs 2 CBs.

Not heard of benedicic - but then again, hadn't heard of our other signings either, bar Taylor. Reliable source, or rumour mill?

If we do carry on with 4 at the back, I'd like to see young Charlie Taylor have a go. Warnock doesn't do it for me (heard he was listed anyway) and white (injury allowing) could play in front of him.

Just seen the benedicic article on yep. Hope this viviani deal is wrapped up soon!
