Well I'm just going to have to post this because I can't stop thinking about it. And I know most people will probably disagree. I just love Billy Sharp and his attitude, and ditto for Rudy. Not the greatest or most skilful players, nobody thinks they are, not even themselves. But Billy is wetting himself every game to get on the pitch and he gives 1000 % (as Simon Cowell would say) when he does play. I think he could score plenty given some service. And what can we say about Rudy, playing out of his skin in recent weeks. Both had the offers to go this month. They would probably have increased their wages if they had gone. But no, despite everything, they were determined to stay. I'd rather have 2 decent honest players like them in our team ( and we have plenty of others), than some of the overpaid prima donnas we put up with in the premiership. I'm actually proud to see them wearing our shirts. That's my sentimental post over. If they both play on Saturday and are carp, expect a correction!

Good post Speedyg. The qualities you refer to tend to shine through the latter part of the season as we scrap for points. No reason why we shouldn't climb the table to 10th. I can see Sharp bagging a few.

Well put speedo pal. I would prefer to watch a player showing what it should mean to put on the mighty white shirt and to leave nothing in the changing room. How many players have we seen over the last 15yrs actually look or act like they gave a toss about the club. Rudy would of had really good wages dangled in front of him and the decision was all down to him. Wigan might be in a relegation fight but they still have big players and even bigger wages. Yes, sometimes he runs down blind alleys and lacks more end product but he gives you everything and leaves nothing behind. Rudy, I salute you and I hope we all salute you.
Got my ticket and can't wait for the match.MOT!!!!

Speedy hopefully no correction required after Saturday.

I agree with that Speedy, have always said that a "TEAM" who plays for each other will always do well.

If you have players who want to play, play in their normal positions, have reasonable pace/strength and are well organised/motivated then you won't go far wrong, don't have to be the most gifted types.
Sharpe would benefit playing off Morrison and the odd cross from out wide if we can manage that, 2-1 to us on Sat will be there and expect a good game.

Even Doukara has scored double Sharp and Morisons tally.

Totally agree Speedy

Great post well put, also hasn't rudies performances been a lot better of late? and always rated sharpe and thinks he needs more a of chance. That is right though have to respect players like that, we moan when they want a move but don't always applaud when they want to stay and fight for a place

One goal and we got another hero, if Ant and Doukara had been playing with this system instead of diamond they would both be in double figures now

I agree Speedy, can't understand the stick Sharp gets on here off some. If he'd played up front as often as Doukara had instead of on the wing then sure he'd have scored more.

Bige
To be fair I have posted in support of him before. And I think he's done well from very little time on the pitch and virtually zero service when he has played. Not saying he's a hero, but he's got the potential imo

Not saying he is no good just pointing out that if we had been playing a system that we were good at instead of the diamond we would have had a lot more goals. Ant and Doukara proved they could score goals in a system that did not work for us, now we rely on someone breaking from midfield to get them. Morrison not the answer up front imo would prefer sharp and ant as long as quality balls come into the box you don't need to be six foot four. ie Sturridge Aguero Clarke etc etc.

Yeah agree with that Bige
