MC has vowed to increase the current wage budget from £10.5 mill to £13.0 mil, an increase of £2.5mil which works out to approximately £50k a week. Which will be presumably added to should we manage to get rid of high earners at the club.

Thinking positively that could bring us possible 3 players of "good" standard or maybe 2 players of ex-prem standard (£25k a week players). If the likes of McLean or Knockaert are being considered, I can only see one of that level being added (fyi, I rate McLean)

Thinking more realistically we will end up bringing in 5 or 6 players on loans and low wages, probably from the depths of Europe.
I just feel we are going to get more of the same (unproven players from the continent) rather than players that can grab hold of the league by its balls and say "We are Leeds and we are going up". We might get lucky (like we did with Silvetre) but its a gamble. And that's what I feel last years was about.

Anyways, here's to the summer and looking up unknown players on the various databases around to see their stats and the ups and downs that will come with the club.

So first realistic player linked.

Birkir Bjarnason, plays in Serie B for Pescara. In 2012 reported as earning around £250,000. So by now probably around £350,000 (approx. £6k a week). co-owned so a loan to buy deal is on the cards.

The increase in wage budget is peanuts and insufficient. Factor in increases for the new kids offered contracts it is not very much. Only a baby step in the right direction. The burning issue is what is MC going to pay in transfer fees. I know fpp makes it harder but more investment is required. Unfortunately, in order to comply with fpp I can see a sacrificial lamb in January.

bjarnason,Don't know if we need another midfielder but he does look promising. Seems well balanced with a good touch.

George
Was you this consistently tiresome when bates sold everybody or gfh fumbled in the dark and tried to pretend they knew what they were doing and wasted money on carp?

Make your mind up George, budget is insufficient but then you admit it is a step forward even if only baby steps. would you rather him decrease the wage budget?its up 2.5million how on earth is that not a step forward when it cleary means they can sign a couple of players on higher wages
