According to a number of sources we have an interest in AJ Auxerre striker Lassine Sinayoko and are in talks to bring him to ER. Man Utd were interested in the Jan window I believe.

I know he's a bit different from DCL and tends to drift across the forward line, and often plays as an inverted winger, but his stats don't look great. A goal every 5 and a half games is not good enough. We need someone who will contribute a score every 2 and a half games at worst.

12 goals and 4 assists from 32 games in Ligue 1 for 25:26 season, so one goal action every 2 games, which is not bad. Allegedly Brighton are looking at him too, and their history of finding good players is good, so he might be worth a punt. He is valued at circa £10M.

But DCL had 4 penalties in the 14.
I'm hoping to get a quality striker who can provide chances but is there to score goals from open play, to give you a win or earn a draw. In comparison, look at Ollie Watkins. In four seasons, he's played 149 PL matches, scored 99 goals and had 30 assists, with only 4 penalties in his goal tally.


We've got Okafor and, hopefully, Wilson and others who can chip in with goals, but we're missing the top striker, Vid, Yeboah, Clarke, etc.

Watkins hasn't scored 99 goals in his last 4 PL seasons. He's scored 66.
