Rumoured to be looking at boro hackney. As well as custard. Should get him then.

Ausman2

1.) 19 Feb 2026 10:57:43
Hackney is doing a great job this season, and we did look at him in Jan, but allegedly Boro wanted around £30m, and there are concerns that he may not make it in the Prem.

26 Jan 2026 03:35:10
Saying we have offered 39 for Larsen. Bloody hope not. If we pay that I will want a 20+ striker.

Ausman2

1.) 26 Jan 2026 06:58:15
Aus, I’d tend to agree but given the ridiculous prices of an average player these days £40m get you maybe a 10-15 goal striker.
20-25 goals is in that next bracket of say 60-100m and even that doesn’t guarantee that goal tally.

It’s crazy and ruining the game.
Look at Man City, spent over £400m since the start of last January and Pep recons he needs £200m more to get them back on top!
That’s the problem.

2.) 26 Jan 2026 07:36:26
Agree Aus.

3.) 26 Jan 2026 09:15:40
A 20+ Prem striker costs about £70m these days, it's not 2008 anymore.

4.) 26 Jan 2026 09:47:14
Yeah I know Dave. Top 6 and other pretenders willing to buy multiple players at over 60 mill each. None gone for Larsen though.

5.) 26 Jan 2026 11:10:34
DCL and Nmecha were free and DCL (last I checked) topped the charts for most goals for a signing this year.

By those standards, JSL needs to win the golden boot.

6.) 26 Jan 2026 11:44:21
Alongside DCL, maybe he could Mo?

7.) 26 Jan 2026 12:44:26
Big bar stewards FC would be a laugh with the triple barrels up front and the speedsters of BA/ FB behind.

8.) 26 Jan 2026 17:24:19
Strikers only score 20 plus a season if they're in top six teams. I know a quality striker will part of the reason the team ends being top six, but my point is, if Haaland, Kane, Salah, the Newcastle version of Isak et al were playing for us or one of the teams around us they wouldn't be scoring anything like the amounts they do for the clubs they play for.

They would improve us for sure but a 25 goal striker at say Arsenal would maybe get 15 for us. So we can't sensibly expect 25 goals a season from JSL or anyone else just by adding him. to our squad. I genuinely think if DCL had been. at Arsenal this season he'd be in the running for the golden boot. I hope Arteta doesn't visit thos site.

9.) 26 Jan 2026 18:47:54
In Leeds’ top flight history only 3 players have score 20 goals (league) , these were Charles, Chapman and Viduka. Demanding a 20-goal striker for £30-40m is just stupidity. Whilst some players have done so multiple times (Shearer, Kane et al) there occasions are relatively low compared to the number of opportunities there have been.

There needs to be a serious reality check when making demands of managers/ owners when making signings. Is JSL the absolute best striker about, no he isn’t. Is he bloody good, solid and a premier league standard player; heck yes.

10.) 26 Jan 2026 18:56:56
Aus, they did! Newcastle offered £55m for him in the summer, it was rejected by Wolves and Newcastle turned to Waldermader instead.

11.) 26 Jan 2026 22:07:01
In my first season watching Leeds, John Charles scored 38 goals, for a 46 game season. Now there was a player who really deserved the accolade "great".

12.) 26 Jan 2026 23:07:51
Sell tanaka, buy JSL and another defender.

13.) 27 Jan 2026 12:32:01
Doesn’t this JSL debacle sound eerily like the summer Paxiou pursuit, focus all eggs on one player to whet the fans appetite only to only lose out at the last minute to another team! We tried! If as said we are only 1 million short on our offer why not just pay the million and get it done, or do we wait for Palace to get involved and say he wanted to go to Palace! Smoke and mirrors, I’d love to be wrong .

14.) 27 Jan 2026 13:19:56
All a show to them. As proved in summer. Throw so many players in the mix and then can’t be blamed for missing out.
Nobody else wants this guy now. No way they should be offering more than 25. What’s the point.

15.) 27 Jan 2026 14:19:28
Its flabbergasting how little understanding of our current situation, the modern game or the way clubs work is being shown by some of the comments here.

words fail me!

16.) 27 Jan 2026 15:23:40
I have a very good understanding of how the modern game works, I have not much of an understanding of how our club works, except going off recent transfer showing ins, spent the whole summer telling us they were pursuing Paxiou only to lose out to Marseille, surely you don’t have to be Einstein to work out he’s was never coming to Leeds, so just saying it’s screams of wool pulling over eyes .

All of our summer incomings from what I can remember, correct me if I’m wrong were announced namely out of the blue, then concluded quite quickly! None dragged on he whole window, I’ll bow to your superior knowledge if you can correct me! West Ham for example name Castellana after we Namecheck him and sign 2 strikers within a couple weeks of announcing interest, as informed by a trusted colleague of mine, why does Leeds business sometimes complete early and others take so long, namely when they don’t happen at all!

17.) 27 Jan 2026 17:21:57
The club ain't claimed interest in anyone this window. It's the media.
Agree Alf. Some of the demands in here defy logic.

18.) 27 Jan 2026 18:39:48
So no bid has been made and refused for JSL, it’s just been made up by the media, that makes sense!

19.) 27 Jan 2026 23:24:04
Raggity, how does the media know we’ve bid on JSL? because someone told them? (if true) (in this case it’s true) and who gains by letting the media know they’ve bid but not at asking price? Who gains by adding pressure to the situation? Who possibly gets more money if more suitors are interested? So it’s clearly isn’t Leeds united leaking this to the press, and if it’s Wolves doing it then do you think it’s as simple as adding a few million onto our offer and clicking submit?

It’s not fifa or football manager where you click a few buttons and you have a new player.

20.) 28 Jan 2026 07:17:25
There is multiple devices for communication as it’s 2026! if Wolves have leaked the offer to the press to invite other interested parties, whom they haven’t revealed yet it’s hardly rocket science or a new concept? By evidence our tpeople have encountered how transfers work and how to get them done! Or am I mistaken? Has the concept changed in the last few months? If PSR is a problem why attempt to do a deal? Do they think Wolves will give him to us out of pity?

21.) 28 Jan 2026 07:40:22
To answer your question: you are mistaken.

22.) 28 Jan 2026 07:41:05
Don’t be mistaken I would love us to purchase JSL or any striker that could add a few goals to help us stay up . I just feel it’s a recurring theme near transfer windows nearing conclusion . A lot of speculation n, not much action, not just with the current owners, but the past ones also .

I really hope this time around something materialises . My opinion is with so much at stake we can’t gamble on what we have, as injuries may happen and we will be left short!

23.) 28 Jan 2026 08:20:14
We have to be careful not to overspend and refuse to get drawn into a bidding war. 9ers are walking the thin line between ambition and being sensible. We also have to realise where we are in the football pyramid. Paxiou chose Marseille due to their UCL status and I think links to his family (although might be wrong on latter point) . At the end of the day we can only make offers but it's down to other clubs and the players themselves to make the final decision. For the teams it makes sense to wait and see if they need to sell at all or can make more money so why would they make a decision early? One way around it is to offer silly money to force an early decision like teams such as Chelski and Citeh do but we are not in a position to make those kinds of offers or take such huge financial risks (due to PSR - not because we don't have funds) .

Therefore we are in the position we are in. The interest in JSL is real but Wolves are in no hurry to sell with plenty of time left in the window.

24.) 28 Jan 2026 08:27:09
Also the idea that the club only work on one deal at a time is laughable. We make 100s of enquiries and explore many deals in a typical window simultaneously (as do all clubs) but we do have to wait on priorities if we have a preference as we can't sign everyone. What we, as fans, see is only the top of the iceberg made up largely of rumours and leaks or even just guesstimates in some outlets.

I get the frustration but just because we can't see clearly what is happening doesn't mean that there isn't anything happening. Look at the deal for FB. I didn't see or hear a single rumour about that until minutes before it was announced and yet it happened. How long were the club working on it? Who knows - certainly not us.

25.) 28 Jan 2026 10:55:03
I agree Alf, but this is a rumour site where us fans respond to rumours! If we was all in the know there would be no need for this site or any need to comment.

26.) 28 Jan 2026 13:01:10
Your comment about the club making things up as a method of pulling the wool over fans eyes is bang wrong though Raggity - that's my point.

27.) 28 Jan 2026 14:03:20
That’s your opinion Alf and I’ll stand by mine .

21 Jan 2026 00:13:01
Schmidt rumour back on according to fabio.

Ausman2

1.) 21 Jan 2026 10:38:43
Can he be trusted or is he talking Schmid?

12 Jan 2026 08:18:42
Rumours are a medical has been booked? Any news fellas? Is it doe?

Ausman2

1.) 12 Jan 2026 12:05:00
i haven't heard anything - where do these rumours come from?

2.) 12 Jan 2026 12:28:47
I read that Berlin have a medical booked, likely for DDs replacement but nothing our end.

3.) 12 Jan 2026 13:55:09
Thomas Farke told me but not sure about his intel.

4.) 13 Jan 2026 06:35:10
Who is Thomas Farke?

06 Jan 2026 23:33:42
The longer we don’t buy or sell the more obvious it is we ain’t got the dosh.
Hope to be proved wrong by actually buying someone. Hate this linked crap.

Ausman2

1.) 07 Jan 2026 06:34:31
Think we have plenty of dosh for selling whoever we ain't, no? The question is more whether we need to sell, to buy, no? Patience.

2.) 07 Jan 2026 06:40:50
Bit odd to be a regular on a site whose primary purpose is to learn about links if you hate them.

3.) 07 Jan 2026 06:44:57
Good point Alf. It’s the banter that attracts me not the links.

4.) 07 Jan 2026 09:17:40
Farke has said no news until after Derby, we are too busy to look at it before then.

We have plenty of time to sign players.

For all the flack I've given 49ers, they're pretty good owners TBF. I trust them after summer as their signings were spot on.
Special mention to the steal that is GG, who seems as Leeds as they come.

5.) 07 Jan 2026 12:14:57
I imagine players would be identified before the window has opened? I can’t imagine the window opens and we are like oh right let’s now have a look .

6.) 07 Jan 2026 13:23:19
Bet underwood doesn’t even know it’s open yet.

7.) 07 Jan 2026 17:23:06
couple of points on the above.

1. we have got a lot of targets that have been identified longer term but we have a flexible approach and the players we actually get will depend on what we think is the right direction at the time of the window. The recent changes from Citeh onward will have changed our priorities.
2. Underwood is not the one identifying targets or certainly not alone. we are using a data driven model so primarily its the underlying data that helps us decide which players to bring in. Underwood just does as he is told.

8.) 07 Jan 2026 17:48:18
Underwood is an embarrassment.

9.) 07 Jan 2026 19:53:13
We only have "plenty of time to sign players" as long as the players we want to sign haven't been snapped up by someone else whilst we're still thinking about it. Castellanos was suggested but now he's signed for Spam, Dovbyk has been rumoured but Sunderland are allegedly sniffing round him too.

Wait too long and the only ones available are the ones no one else wants, and if our competitors don't want them, neither do we.

10.) 08 Jan 2026 13:21:58
For all of the negativity we had in the summer about the window, which player hasn't improved the team?
Perri is a disaster but I think he can come good.
Okafor needs a bit more time to bed in.
The rest have been excellent and have held off opponents ten times their value.

The recruitment in summer was indeed 8/ 10.

11.) 08 Jan 2026 14:51:23
Agree with everything there Mo, with the exception of Perri, who seems to be attracting all the negativity and responsibility for everything remotely bad.
He realistically had no chance with any of those goals last night, and I'd challenge any GK in the world to catch a ball cleanly with 8 players jostling around the catch zone! Newcastle's crosses and corners were exceptional last night.

The Man U goal was a 50-50 call, and he made the wrong decision; a lot of other keepers would've done the same.
Clearly bud, those comments are for everyone currently on the bloke's case, not just you! ??.

12.) 09 Jan 2026 07:23:22
He should have clattered into the players to catch the ball. That’s what goalkeepers do. Well most of them. He dived before the pen was hit so. Yeah coulda done better. He was lucky first goal was ruled out cause obviously had a girly grip on the ball cause the Newcastle player hardly touched it. Plus Man U goal. Adding up.

13.) 09 Jan 2026 17:08:48
Running like a prop thro a crowd of players, full rugby style, would achieve zero Aus, and certainly not end with him catching the ball.
Complaining about a penalty, when the taker is staggering his run is futile.
The Man U goal? 50:50 decision.
So far, you've added up half a point and nowt more.

14.) 13 Jan 2026 05:02:44
It sends a message bright ( stand in my way and you will get clattered ) and could result in catching the ball.
No 50-50 with utd goal. He had two choices. Get the ball or stay on your line. He did neither.

Awful performance by both teams and of course the ref.
No positives other than a point which shoulda been 3.
Bang the drum time. Dcl. Said it before is poor and useless on his own. Subs were baffling. Simply not enough on bench to change a game cause of minimal Jan recruitment. It’s just not good enough. We have underwhelmed for too long now.

Squandered many many points. We are in the turd. Could quite easily go down if we don’t win some games. Fed up with it all. I don’t like watching us play. Can’t fault the endeavour. Just the tactics, entertainment and management is poor and negative. If we survive there is so much that needs fixing. New manager and at least 3 starters.

Ausman2

1.) 16 Mar 2026 07:55:04
Unrealistic demands, I am afraid, Aus. This is as good as it gets for where we are in this moment in time.

2.) 16 Mar 2026 08:05:27
Unrealistic how?
For wise purchasing? For somebody that can score a penalty like Struijk? For us to win a game? For a manager that makes logical subs?

3.) 16 Mar 2026 08:23:52
Can't beat Leeds with 11 men on the pitch, so they get one sent off and celebrate doing so. How disgraceful Palace are. No wonder the manager is leaving with clowns like that to manage.

4.) 16 Mar 2026 08:28:45
Spurs, W.Ham and Forest all sit below us, with far better quality in their teams and bigger resources than us.
Something must be going right somewhere, because if it wasn't we should be alongside Burnley right now.

5.) 16 Mar 2026 09:24:03
Subs were baffling?
His subs ensured we got a point while 2 men down.
And you wouldn't have had Struijk on the pitch to take a penalty, as he's useless according to you.

6.) 16 Mar 2026 09:56:16
Correct, Canada. He is useless, but apparently better at pens than DCL. Oh dear.
It was disgraceful, Whiteman, and he shoulda been booked for that childish celebration.
Going right, Opti? What? 3. And I say that again. 3 points above relegation. What's right about that when we can't win a game. Check the form guide out, mate. Be real.

7.) 16 Mar 2026 10:50:19
I am being real. Finishing 17th this season would be a great success, in my opinion.

8.) 16 Mar 2026 10:54:18
Bit harsh, Aus, get the frustration, but I thought, in admittedly a very poor game, we were by far the better side.

Tactics were right, in that he did start with two up top, in an away game, but had to sacrifice Nanecheck after Gaby was wrongly sent off.

DCL has missed two pens as I recall now. It should have been Nanecheck taking it, and don't forget, Aus, Struick was our penalty taker in the Championship, but lost the role after also missing from the spot.

Stach should take them for me. He strikes the ball so purely, he'd put the keeper in the back of the net too!

Admittedly, it was a huge opportunity lost. Thankfully, none of the teams below us were able to capitalise, so in terms of games left, we were no worse off from when we started the day.

Also, defensively we look incredibly strong and robust. Rodon, Bivol and Struick are a better combination than any of the teams below us, and how many clear-cut chances did we give up in that game, especially second half with 10 men?

I appreciate technically we will be poorer than most we play, but in terms of effort and fight, and resiliency, I think we have been excellent. Think back to those woeful displays at Brighton, Burnley and Forest. We are now unrecognisable from those games.

Agree with Corkeys concerns over goals drying up, but think (pray) that will change with Nanecheck given a few games up top with DCL. Beat Brentford, and things will look and feel very different.

9.) 16 Mar 2026 13:22:38
OP, those teams you mentioned might have a few better players than us, especially Tottenham n Forest, but we have the better team. Having the best players does not make a good team.

10.) 16 Mar 2026 14:35:59
Well, Aus, you could also flip that and say, Yes, we are 3 points above the relegation places. Our destiny is in our hands. We have to play Wolves, Spuds, Burnley and Wet Spam, all winnable, as are our remaining games, with the exception of Man U away.

We are having awful bad luck as well with officials. It's no time for the black dog to bark, everything to play for. A win against Brentford would be just the tonic. ?

11.) 16 Mar 2026 15:40:49
Ref cost us the game for not sending Johnson or Sarr off.
Sarr ran into Bijol and tried getting him a red, then in the very next phase of play, ran over and did the same with GG. He should have seen red.
Conto or whatever his name was, who celebrated the red, should have won a yellow.

The refs are not scared of Leeds, we're too soft on them. Until we get in their faces like every other team does then this will keep happening.

However, great point earned under the circumstances. Nmecha should be the penalty taker as DCL has now missed 2 and Nmecha has proven himself under pressure.

The away fans deserve great admiration for their spirit and never giving up. They earned us that point.

12.) 16 Mar 2026 16:00:44
Totally agree with OP, Class and Corkey. ?

13.) 16 Mar 2026 18:04:11
Cork, I couldn't agree more. The fact that we are marginally doing better than these teams, with undoubted individual quality, is because Farke is getting the best out of our players and making them fight as a team.

If team spirit is lacking, and your players are not hungry to succeed, there's only one way to go.

14.) 16 Mar 2026 19:32:33
I agree to a certain extent, mate, but it's a big but. I believe we've underachieved points-wise, and it may cost Farke his job, even if we stay up.
Farke is just a little too cautious in his approach in some games. Trying to hang on for a win instead of killing off the game.

Too many times we sit back after taking the lead in matches and not being brave, subs included, and killing the game off. Playing Gruev and Amps at home against lower opposition is way too negative, and has cost us.

15.) 16 Mar 2026 19:57:20
If we win this weekend, we are guaranteed to be at least 5 points above the relegation zone, possibly 6, given Spurs are playing Forest. We always knew it was going to be squeaky, so it always amazes me the constant diatribe about how we could be relegated; it was how the season started, it's been the same throughout.

I'm glad with 20% of the season to go, it's still very much in our own hands.

This team has been very competitive in 95% of games and it's far more than I expected. 2 wins and a draw, and we will be ok.

16.) 16 Mar 2026 19:58:09
I believe he has to show a certain amount of pragmatism, otherwise we're going to get slaughtered in most games like Martin and Kompany were.
He's already shown this season that he can adapt with different formations.

Our sole objective this season is to not get relegated. If he achieves that, then his employers will very likely want him to continue his job with our club.
Good luck to him, I say.

17.) 16 Mar 2026 19:58:49
Bielsa was brave. And he got biffed.
It's another case of being damned either way.
I don't reckon there's a balanced approach, to be honest, so whichever way any gaffer chooses, there's gonna be an element of supporters who want the opposite. Nature of the beast.

18.) 16 Mar 2026 20:06:39
Aus, his subs were baffling? What else could he do? His left back is sent off, so he moves his best alternative into that position, and puts his best option into the vacated position. I'm baffled that you found it baffling!

19.) 16 Mar 2026 20:14:59
Bielsa came ninth, I believe, in his first season?
I do see your points of view, lads, but stand by what I said. DF is too conservative.

20.) 16 Mar 2026 21:16:09
Just for interest, Corkey, Farke, after 26 games, had the same points as Bielsa in his first EPL season.

Bielsa was fortunate (if you think it's an advantage) that he got his points without the fans.

Up to game 26 of this season, Farke had outperformed Bielsa in each of the seasons. They both got to the playoffs, Bielsa semi-finalists after essentially leading the table all season, and Farke finalists despite chasing all season.

In the second respective seasons they both won the league, though Farke got more points and scored more goals. In their third season, they were equal at game 26. Bielsa finished the season very well and, although Farke could emulate him, I concede it's improbable.

21.) 16 Mar 2026 22:32:03
Your last paragraph is the most important part, and enough said. It's a 38 game season.

13 Mar 2026 07:07:42
See PSG using the sensible tactic of booting the ball out of play by corner flag from kick off. Make more sense than passing it back. Ok you are giving the ball away but if you cut goalie off then they have to defend straight away. I like this idea.

Ausman2

1.) 13 Mar 2026 21:53:13
Yes, Ausman, I agree. Rugby Union always used to have possession statistics and territory, and I was much more interested in territory, as I would be with football. I would much rather the opposition have the ball in their defensive third than we do in ours. Plus, we thrive on chaos and energy more than others, so I am not saying just toss it up to DCL and hope, but get the ball to him in a structured way, get good close support to him, and we will thrive.

I don't think anyone will cope with our physicality and intensity if we deploy it in the right way. Nmecha up with DCL, please.

2.) 14 Mar 2026 18:52:56
Brentford and Brighton have individuals in Performance roles who have rugby union backgrounds, and I think both Man City and Chelsea tried long kick offs early in the season.
I like the idea of full press from the kick off.

09 Mar 2026 07:31:56
Do we know why Bourn was substituted at half time? He was playing out of position. Again. And no Boucan. Is he not good enough v a Championship team? Wonder why we loaned him. Weird.

Ausman2

1.) 09 Mar 2026 15:17:39
I'd say it was because he was getting done for pace by Ahmed all first half.

2.) 09 Mar 2026 18:05:12
Agreed, Canada.
Few ropey incidents with him.
Seems to read the game poorly.

04 Mar 2026 04:00:43
That was poor. No passion. No urgency. Such negative play. And at home. What was Farke thinking.
Sunderland were poor too but we never looked like scoring really.
All that possession counts for jack if it's mostly in your own half.

By looks of it we may need that 6 point cushion cause Farke seems to have forgotten how to win. Poor team selection for home game.

Ausman2

1.) 04 Mar 2026 05:45:58
Seem like it's always two steps forward, four back. This is how we started: no fight, poor passing, and, to be honest, not in the game either. This will only convince 49s to change things next season.

01 Mar 2026 12:34:11
That goal is on Farke. Rodon clearly doesn't want to commit and miss more games which is good. But.

Ausman2

1.) 01 Mar 2026 18:47:21
Rodon should have slid and cleared that cross for a corner. If he didn't know Semenyo was behind him, he was napping. He rarely makes mistakes, but that one cost us the match.

2.) 02 Mar 2026 08:36:34
No one incident can be blamed for costing a whole match, but I thought Rodon should have done better there. He seemed to purposely leave it, so maybe he assumed Darlow was covering? He certainly didn't expect Semenyo there.

Gray getting poor stats in that league is not good actually. Maybe needs to get a better team, but should still get better individual player rating.
Talking Harry GS. Not the other brother with a different name. ?

Not sure what to do v City tbh. They have a lot of threat, so it makes sense to be a bit more defensive. Dcl is not great on his own up front. I will leave it up to the main man to get it right or wrong.

When you look at their team, you think we have no chance. But we are at home. Under the lights. Who knows.

Pleased for Piroe. He hasn't got much game time this season so getting picked will give him a lift. Grot was an interesting player. Lots of potential back then.

That is just ridiculous. Sorry. Hope he bags a s*** load of goals for us remainder of the season, but why? He has forgotten what a goal is. Can't even score a penalty.

I don't get football anymore. 10 yrs ago, pace was introduced as the lethal attack. He is slow and can't score. Oh well. If we can get a pie and chips for him. I'm happy.

Said we have to pick our battles. Some we should win. Full on squad 2 up front. Some we prob won't. Swap and change. The ones in the middle. Start full on but be ready to change at the earliest possible opportunity. It's called game management, I believe. So, with you class and corks. Whether Farke is, remains to be seen.

It's still Chelsea Football Club no matter who owns them. The club players and agents benefited, not the owners.
