Harrison off to MLS apparently. Good news.
What’s the coin on Struik? Anybody know?
1.) 12 Jun 2026 07:10:02
15m quoted last I saw, which ain't enough imo.
2.) 12 Jun 2026 07:16:23
Yeah. I'd have hoped for more for a prem player. 18-20 better. But he obviously wants out. Bit strange, really, as he gets game time. Maybe Farke has told everyone it's 4-4-2 next season.
3.) 12 Jun 2026 08:39:21
Just read £20 to £25. He's only one year left on his contract, but left-footed CBs are always in demand. I hope we continue with three at the back, but have the flexibility to change to a back four if required.
He's been here a long time, and sometimes you need the change and a new challenge.
4.) 12 Jun 2026 12:29:47
Transfermarkt says Struijk worth £22M and Diomande £42M.
Also says Bijol only £20M and Rodon only £18M, which I find strange.
5.) 12 Jun 2026 13:17:54
You're not wrong, JR! Odd value order as well as values!
I'd have Jaka much higher, then Pasc, then Rodon.
6.) 12 Jun 2026 13:20:56
Very, very strange, JR. Struijk is worth more than them, lol. Inside dealing, I suspect. Bright?
7.) 12 Jun 2026 14:03:10
Always hoped Harrison would go out to the US after his positive spell back in New York early in his career. Makes the most sense.
8.) 13 Jun 2026 08:05:21
Two CBs who are rumoured for transfer this window are Vuskovik from Spurs and Van Hecke from Brighton. The clubs are asking for around £60m and £80m respectively. They won't get that, but it makes Pascal look cheap at the suggested valuation.
Brighton have a good record of getting top dollar on sales. They've allegedly turned down Coventry's first offer of £20m for Rushworth.
9.) 13 Jun 2026 11:40:17
Indeed, Dune. I was sure Brighton would
be insisting on far more than £20 million for Rushworth.
#topdollarselliingsupremos.
10.) 14 Jun 2026 10:29:25
Going to have to buck the trend here re valuations. Bijol couldn't displace Rodon or Struijk in a back 4. He does a fine job as the immovable object in the centre of a 3 where his lack of pace isn't exposed. Rodon has been our best centre half for some time, and Struijk, albeit a few clangers at the end of the season, has done well this year.
and carries a premium for being left footed. which is negated by the length of his contract. c£20mish seems about right for all 3 of them. So we'll probably sell Pascal for half that.
23 May 2026 03:57:37
Linked with David now. Have always liked him although his season with Juve not up to much. Is he prem quality though? Def worth considering.
1.) 23 May 2026 07:48:04
He's been touted around the Premier League. Another, like Openda, had a good record, but a move to Italy has not worked out. Different style of play, better defences.
He's certainly worth a look on a loan with option to buy or obligation based on his performance and staying up.
2.) 24 May 2026 20:25:57
He's bloody great! No idea why he'd be tempted to come to Leeds, maybe a year or two early for that level player. Would need big wages, and a steady stream of birds.
22 May 2026 01:14:13
Linked with Elliot at 25m. Tad high still. Coventry interested too.
1.) 22 May 2026 08:08:54
25 million for Elliot, in my opinion, would be good business, obviously depending on add ons etc. Before he went to Villa, he was up there with the best English players of his position, but I don't think we will go for him. Shame, really.
2.) 22 May 2026 08:46:04
In the modern market he's worth £25m all day.
3.) 22 May 2026 09:41:44
Only prob is that he's been virtually out of the game for nearly a year, and nobody really knows how good he is now. He'll have a lot of catching up to do wherever he goes.
4.) 22 May 2026 12:55:55
A full pre season will bring him right up to speed, I reckon.
5.) 22 May 2026 13:24:07
For 25 million, I'll fly over and pick him up myself.
I do like Elliot, and think he's a Leedsy-type of player, and appears to have the attitude and work rate that would make him a fit.
6.) 22 May 2026 15:01:38
If it's 25m all in, 100%. If add-ons, it depends how useful they are.
7.) 23 May 2026 01:14:29
I warned about this a few days ago. Like Sunderland last season, Coventry can afford to spend big this time round. If we really want Harvey Elliott, then we can't afford to prat about. We have to go for it and convince him that this is the best place for him.
8.) 23 May 2026 09:13:02
Agree, JR, my only problem with our recruitment team is sometimes they dilly dally. Not that all reports are true by a long stretch, but if DF wants Elliot then get stuck in now, don't wait till someone else makes a bigger offer. I am a tad biased, though, as I have always liked Elliot.
9.) 23 May 2026 09:27:17
He isn't fancied by Slot, despite good performances before he was appointed, and for England U21s. He has a good injury record, but broke his foot and never got much of a look-in at Liverpool after that. I'd certainly take him ahead of the likes of McAttee.
Hackney a possibility if Hull win (not favourites) , and Finn Azaz.
10.) 24 May 2026 01:32:19
If he comes here, he can renew his "acquaintance" with Pascal Struijk, who got an unwarranted red card for a tackle that left Elliott with a broken leg in the 21/22 season.
15 May 2026 02:16:17
Paxio available apparently. Here we go again.
1.) 15 May 2026 07:24:17
Looks like Marseille are in financial doo doo and may have to sell, but with Liverpool and Arse reportedly interested, we may miss out again. I would NOT want to, again, spend most of the window pursuing a deal that won't happen, and miss out on more realistic options.
2.) 15 May 2026 08:36:32
I hope we ignore him out of principle now. We need to have moved on to new targets who will Want to play for us.
3.) 15 May 2026 14:07:55
I'm not particularly bothered whether we go for Paxio or not, but we did spend a little time chasing Stach, who was an on-off transfer, and eventually he came. Sometimes the chasing is worth it and pays off.
But I also feel, (same with Stach) , if they were difficult to obtain in the first place, they don't see us as the end goal, and use us as a stepping stone, and that isn't "side before self" motto.
4.) 20 May 2026 14:11:34
Tbh, if we need a rotation/backup for Gabby, a new winger (or two if some depart like I hope) , mid upgrade, and a striker. You get one or two of your main targets in, maybe the lb and mid, and you then have a bit of flexibility to go for a 'masterstroke' signing. Getting Pablo in the CH, Raphinha, or even, technically, Stach could fall into these categories.
Sure, we've missed a few, or decided against others because of attitudes (Amiri, Muniz, etc) . But sometimes, going for the marquee once some reasonable business is done, isn't an awful shout.
13 May 2026 00:46:58
Anybody in boro team better than any of our starters?
Is Hamer still worth a punt? Maybe 5 mill.
Would not take Gray or Summerville back. They’d likely be too expensive.
{Ed025's Note - Hamer will cost a lot more than £5m Aus..
1.) 13 May 2026 07:26:53
I thought Whittaker was good last year when he was at Plymouth, but not seen enough of him this year. Can't think of anyone else.
2.) 13 May 2026 08:06:19
I'd still have a punt on Hamer. Would be about 12m base price, tho I dunno his contract situation? Whittaker fluffed a couple of openings last night, reportedly, and, given he's not exactly torn up the champo, I don't reckon he's the level we need next seez. If we are to get another hitman, I want the real deal!
3.) 13 May 2026 07:46:14
Just thinking Hamer won't want champ football again Ed so they will have to sell. Don't think he will be worth the lofty 15-20 of yesteryear. Maybe 10.
{Ed025's Note - im thinking nearer £20m Aus, quite a few prem clubs are looking at him mate and im sure one will shell out that sort of money...probably Everton, after all we did pay £40m for Tyler Dibbling from Southampton ffs..
4.) 13 May 2026 10:18:49
No to all 3. Summerville & Archie too expansive.
Hamer 2 years too late.
We need better than Hamer.
5.) 13 May 2026 10:29:27
Haydn Hackney will be available. A few clubs are interested, including Leeds.
6.) 13 May 2026 12:44:23
Hackney will almost certainly move this summer. Not sure the position is a priority unless Tanaka moves on, but Hackney is a good player, would happily have him if the price is right. Whitaker is not good enough for PL, imo. Malanda might be an interesting option to strengthen CB, though imagine we'd prefer left footer.
7.) 13 May 2026 09:17:53
Fair dos Ed. At that price he is all yours
{Ed025's Note - thanks a lot Aus.. :)
8.) 13 May 2026 13:46:54
Hackney is Championship Player of the Year, and now Boro are out, he will move. There are a number who've made the jump to the PL, such as Wharton, Anderson, Olise, etc., and I think he could do the same, but he won't be cheap.
9.) 13 May 2026 20:36:45
Can't afford to feed Hamer the little fatty! Is there a reason we are scouring champo players?
10.) 14 May 2026 01:57:33
You would presume, Callum, that some of the clubs in the play offs would have some players good enough for the prem. Seems logical.
11.) And Hackney, how did I forget him. Looks like he's got loads of potential suitors tho. Ask Mr Ayling to tell him what a good club this is, and he won't have to move too far either.
12.) 14 May 2026 12:14:46
I think the Jonny Howson connection might help a bit with Hackney. He mentored him. Hackney is a Boro boy and settled in the region, I'd suggest Sunderland, Leeds and Newcastle would hold an advantage from a player perspective if there was genuine interest from any.
13.) 15 May 2026 01:01:39
Last Boro boy we got was Jonathan Woodgate, and he didn't turn out too bad.
14.) 15 May 2026 10:18:21
Absolutely zero chance Sheff U are looking for more than about £8m for Hamer. He turns 29 next month, with only 27 Champ starts, he's not the same player as a couple of years back.

Struik fee 15 plus add ons. Deal in my sleep needs to get work experience at Brighton.
1.) 29 Jun 2026 07:41:05
Looks like it's 15 mill plus 3 mill add ons. An absolute stinking deal for Leeds.
Southampton are looking for 30 for Charles, who, like Struick, has one year left on his contract, but unlike Struick, has never played top flight football.
Maybe it's a case that Brighton were the only club who came in for him, which would explain the low fee?
2.) 29 Jun 2026 07:53:00
That's surprising, Corkey, given his age, he's left-footed and the interest in him 12 months ago. Spurs were amongst those, but they seem to have looked elsewhere.
3.) 29 Jun 2026 07:57:15
Fellas don't believe all you read.
We are known to keep things in-house. The initial story of £20m came from an in house leak. This lower figure comes from Sly Sports, who are very often wrong.
Personally, I believe the original £20, but at the end of the day, Struijk wants to leave and only has a year left.
He is not our best CB. I think so many forget so many mistakes and limp-leg challenges over the years. Pascal is very replaceable.
I'm more concerned that we might pay £30m on a Championship midfielder if reports are to be believed.
4.) 29 Jun 2026 08:12:31
Agree, Dave. Pascal, good bless him, was very often at fault this past season - always waiting for his next mistake.
He has served us well, and I wish him all the best, but there are definitely better out there.
We need another centre back signing this summer like Bijol.
5.) 29 Jun 2026 08:56:38
The fact is we have basically given him away. That's a Championship defender price. Regardless, if anyone else is interested, haven't we got like over 2 months of the window left? Senseless panic sell. Albeit for an average player.
6.) 29 Jun 2026 11:18:14
Maybe they wanted to get the deal over the line early, so as to show potential targets that there is a ready made space waiting for them.
7.) 29 Jun 2026 11:29:32
I think £15m is too cheap. £20m ok with add ons, due to him being out of contract this time next year.
8.) 29 Jun 2026 14:01:56
Pascal is 29 now, injury-prone, and has wanted to move for a few seasons - he was asked to stay in the past, and did so, so we promised him a move to a club with Euro football if an offer came in.
He's also a defender.
Charles is a completely different case in terms of position, injury record, ceiling, and age - the two are not comparable.
If the figures quoted are real, then we got a good deal.
9.) 29 Jun 2026 14:15:10
Sorry Alf, Pascal is only 26, not 29, and, by my recollection, has not had a noticeably exceptional injury history. The rest of what you say, I don't take issue with; I just want to set the record straight.
10.) 29 Jun 2026 14:24:24
A lot of what you say, Jr and Alf, is utter never mind the.
Very little is realistic.
Spin doctors.
11.) 29 Jun 2026 14:30:59
Get your facts right before you start lecturing.
He is 26 years old.
"He was asked to stay previous seasons and did so." What absolute tosh! I'm trying to picture the scene. Farke.. "Please please stay Pascal." Struick.. "Ok boss." The mind boggles.
12.) 29 Jun 2026 15:15:25
21/22 - hip injury missed 6 games
23/24 - groin injury missed 27 games
Last season hip injury missed 2 games
Hips are suspect. That's around 16% of games missed since breaking through.
Yes, sorry, 26, I hit the wrong key on my keyboard, but still not up and coming any more was my point.
13.) 29 Jun 2026 15:18:15
Cork, such agreements happen all the time in football. Isak very publicly was upset last season, as such an agreement was reneged on by Newcastle in the midst of the Liverpool transfer saga.
14.) 29 Jun 2026 16:08:51
I do find it amusing, the faux outrage at the price for Pascal, given that 75% here describe him as "deadwood" and that we "should get rid."
I would say ~£20M is a good price for deadwood [not that he is of course].
Trent went for £8M with 6 months left on his contract. Pascal, who, without argument, is nowhere near the same player, is going for more than twice that for an extra 6 months.
Good deal, in my opinion, though I, for one, am sad he is going.
A couple of months ago, when the season ended, I am pretty sure those playing fantasy transfers suggested £12 - 15M was a good deal.
{Ed001's Note - Trent didn't have 6 months left, they paid that so they could play him in the CWC, he was in the last month or so of his deal.}
15.) 29 Jun 2026 17:14:26
Exactly, ani4ni. People seem to just get outraged for the sake of it. If we had kept him another year, and he left for free, they would all be complaining about that as well. ?
16.) 29 Jun 2026 18:57:42
I do wish people would get the facts right before posting.
Don't believe 75% wanted Pascal gone, especially at 15 million. I always said we should keep him unless a silly offer came in, say 30 million. It's gonna be extremely hard to replace him at the price we are getting for him.
17.) 29 Jun 2026 19:56:21
We'd have been lucky to get 30-35m with 3 yrs on his contract.
28 Jun 2026 10:53:22
That uzb goal v Congo is best so far I reckon. Amazing skill.
27 Jun 2026 05:22:08
Time to start selling a few too. Must be able to get some in for the deadwood and use that for an additional buy. Good to see we are seemingly doing business early. Let’s get the striker sorted too, asap.
Well done Cape Varde.
1.) 27 Jun 2026 08:06:08
Indeed, well done Cape Verde, but sadly Marcello went out on a low.
2.) 27 Jun 2026 08:43:49
Yes, well done Cape Verde, but bad tournament for MB. I expect he won't be Uruguay's manager for much longer.
3.) 27 Jun 2026 09:55:52
Think that prob the great man's last gig tbh.
4.) 27 Jun 2026 11:17:20
Think, if someone else wants him, he'll do it. I think he's the sort who'll want to keep going in football until he drops. That is who he is. The difference is, will anyone want him anymore?
5.) 27 Jun 2026 14:35:12
We could appoint him LUFC head scout for South America, to give us a heads up on any emerging talent in his area.
6.) 27 Jun 2026 14:36:58
Hope so, Ealing. Such a great mind. So humble. And stubborn. Love the man. Apart from stupid Villa goal. Anyway. Good luck, Marcello.
7.) 27 Jun 2026 15:46:01
To me he should be heading up an academy.
Imagine learning from him for so early an age, would be a conveyor belt of talent.
8.) 27 Jun 2026 17:22:31
I'd have him back at Leeds in that kind of role in a heartbeat, Canada!
9.) 27 Jun 2026 22:25:06
Personally, I hope he retires and hopefully enjoys a retirement.
A living Leeds legend, and we ain’t got too many of them!
10.) 28 Jun 2026 06:33:26
I agree with Ealing; he'll be in the game till he can't physically do it anymore.
11.) 28 Jun 2026 08:49:34
I am sure, because of his love for football, that he isn't done yet. I would like LUFC to invite him, and as many of his Championship-winning squad as could attend, to a game at ER, so us fans can show our appreciation for what he did, bringing the Club and fans together again after many lean years.
We couldn't at the time because of Covid. Who can ever forget that unbelievable performance against Stoke? We couldn't believe what we were seeing!
27 Jun 2026 00:50:51
Pape gurgle of Senegal and Villarreal can hit a ball. What's he worth?
1.) 27 Jun 2026 09:38:49
€40M (£34.5M) according to Transfermarkt. Two years left on his contract at Villarreal.
2.) 27 Jun 2026 14:39:23
They got champ league though. Unfortunately. Oh well.
How do African and South Americans shoot better than American and euros?
Been some great goals and horrific misses.
26 Jun 2026 02:07:53
Due to having heaps of spare time and going early to bed I have managed two full matches and two mini matches per day. Getting a bit more challenging now with more games. Think overall it’s been disappointing. Not as good as 2022 group stages. There have been good games and goals (I enjoyed Morocco v Haiti and few others) . But the tactics for me have been negative and a lot like the Prem of 3-5 yrs ago.
Boring possession play. Looks like the usual suspects will end up fighting it out, although I would like to see the likes of Morocco, Mexico, Senegal, etc., causing an upset. Tanaka had a good game today and would have added another 10-15 on his value. Gabby looks way off the pace.
1.) 26 Jun 2026 13:04:23
Something I've taken particular note of in virtually every game I've watched is the reactions of the ordinary fans when they're shown on TV. The full gamut of human emotions is there, anticipation, expectation, excitement, anger, frustration, and finally joy or despair. Footy fans are basically the same the world over, yes, even those from Iran.
2.) 26 Jun 2026 14:03:28
I have to say, JR, the atmosphere at a live game was very different to what we are used to, but not necessarily in a bad way.
Much more tolerant of the mix of people, less aggressive, and everyone there was just to have a great time and cheer on their team.
I was super impressed with the Panamanian supporters who arrived early and never stopped trying to help their team.
3.) 26 Jun 2026 14:18:48
There was a Dutch player commiserating with a Tunisian, I think, after the own goal. Loved it. It's a competitive sport. But,
Every player in every team complains about every throw in, free kick, foul, offside, corner, yellow, red card, penalty, bla bla bla.
And, pass the ball around for 3 min between defenders, without a thought for the paying fans. All, be it rich flocks.
Play the game, guys.
29 Jun 2026 14:27:16
Prefer the derby bloke tbh. But motorbike is better than Perri. Not sure either would agree to be back until, if Darlow is given the first choice nod, which I expect, he woulda been to see off Devon interest.
29 Jun 2026 10:23:21
Has he ever actually been booked? Don't think he is fast enough. Apart from Elliot, and even that wasn't a foul.
28 Jun 2026 02:56:21
Formally withdraw offer. Don't leave it on the table. Let player realise he prob staying at Southampton.
27 Jun 2026 14:44:10
Plan B, you mean?
27 Jun 2026 10:39:48
Both of them?
29 Jun 2026 14:24:24
A lot of what you say, Jr and Alf, is utter never mind the.
Very little is realistic.
Spin doctors.
29 Jun 2026 08:56:38
The fact is we have basically given him away. That's a Championship defender price. Regardless, if anyone else is interested, haven't we got like over 2 months of the window left? Senseless panic sell. Albeit for an average player.
29 Jun 2026 07:23:02
Bloke's a nob. Either of the next teams will do Canada. Hoping Morocco. Potential France or Germany last 16, I think. That's harsh.
28 Jun 2026 14:34:44
Talking about now, Canada. He is worth the going rate. More than 20. Next year, on a free, worth nothing. He is crap. Get top dollar, like other clubs do. You like giving money away.
28 Jun 2026 14:31:13
Amps is way better as a defender than as a midfielder.
Very slow, average midfielder.
