Thanks Chris. Was aiming for the Triskel Tavern through googling although seemed like it was a Liverpool pub so I thought they would at least hate Manu. If it is also home to the Madrid Whites even better! I will report back on Sunday evening before heading to the Bernabeu for Madrid v Sevilla.

Triskel Tavern was closed. Went to Collins Irish bar. Decent beer not a great atmosphere though, perhaps befitting a slightly lacklustre performance. Still a point is a point. Mbappe and Bellingham world class but it generally they all fell over a lot at Madrid v Sevilla. Like 22 Fernandes on the pitch - I'll take the Prem any day.

Team and squad both much stronger than last season. But also manager much stronger too. Very proactive today with his changes. They might or might not have worked and you might or might not agree with them, but he was proactive making two changes when he saw Brighton get on top and was making another two changes, both before Brighton got their equaliser.
Last year, I think he would have stuck with it until they scored and then panicked. I like this more proactive Farke.

Agree, Farke seems to be more proactive and more confident.. due to him probably feeling there is less chance of Leeds United being in an R scrap.
But Farke's subs today, imo, made us a bit worse and cost us 2 points.

As for the subs, Leeds lost forward momentum, threatened far less, and looked less composed when Bijol and BA came on for Bogle and Okafor.. We conceded just 10 minutes later, and could have lost late on.
And, do feel free, OP, to not always don your very parochial "Farke Can Do No Wrong" hat. ?

Our players not hitting the target, or being offside, was the reason we didn’t claim all three points. But you can’t fault the players for their effort. It was a brave and hard-fought game by the team.
Farke does make some wrong decisions in games occasionally, like all managers, but they weren’t in this game. He set the team up well and made earlier substitutions than normal when needed, which most complain about, like you, as they can be with too little time left to make any change to the game.
Okafor can’t play more than sixty minutes, he runs out of steam, and Bogle had to come off for Bijol as their attacks were becoming more intense and we needed more solidity in defense.
I thought Yalcouye was really good for them, and he consistently broke our ranks.
They had a lot of corners in that game, and I felt it was only a question of time before one of their attackers was going to nail it.
Pointing out Farke as the reason we didn’t win is only based on weak, agenda-ridden stubbornness and a personal dislike without any good reason.

On a separate point, I went to the BBC website at half time and the lead article was about how Liverpool had schooled us 2-0 in the first half. Full time 2-4.

By the powers of technology, I managed to tap into LFC TV and watch the game.
They were right that the first half from Leeds was poor: slow build-up, no press, overrun in midfield, and nothing dynamic happening down the flanks apart from a few runs from DJ, and Nmecha not pressing.
Their first goal was embarrassing from our POV, but we had a couple of chances from Nmecha.
Second half, wow, different story. First half we looked a Champo team. Second half we absolutely schooled them.
Borneau coming on for Sicknote Gudmondson made a difference, and he had a great game along with Rodon, and the new CB kid (long name, can't pronounce) controlled it (he is more than a £34m upgrade on Pascal, he is absolute quality) .
Wilson (who is fantastic and going to transform our attack) and Brenda on the flanks with DCL up front instantly changed the way we played. We pressed high and fast (like Liverpool did first half) , and looked dangerous throughout the second half.
The addition of Longstaff for Tanaka (who was out of his depth) changed the middle and controlled it comfortably. Longstaff must start more games alongside Amps and Stach, it works.
A great second half, deserved winners (even the Liverpool biased commentators said so) .

Agree with that MG, Farke will see more or less the direction he needs to take when looking at that second half and the players he used.
As you already mentioned, Longstaff and Wilson will prove to be invaluable to us next season, and there are signs that Farke and his coaching staff are getting the better out of some players now.
I think, for both Liverpool and Leeds, it was a tale of two halves, but clearly I would be more worried as a Liverpool fan for next season, as their defensive structure doesn't look good in my mind.

Agree, OP. Was at Anfield a few days ago and there are serious concerns there regarding their defence, particularly at CB, and Gomez has also picked up an injury in training. Van Dijk might be the only senior CB who's fit.
Wilson and Longstaff have shone and deserve to start.
Just need to clear out the ones we don't want, and add a bit more quality - 2 x keepers, FB, striker, and maybe a replacement midfielder for Tanaka.

Beating Liverpool is always gratifying.
But, bottom line, that was a friendly.. Liverpool had many defensive injuries, so were playing a depleted side in defence, especially.
They bossed the first half 2 nil.
Second half they changed 9 out of eleven players, and those changes disrupted them quite badly.. and they had a load of inexperienced young uns on the pitch.

As has been said, only a friendly, but I would rather win it than lose it! It was very pleasing to see us score four goals in that second half. A bit worrying regarding Gudmondsson getting injured again. As Baz said, cover is required in his position, as he will miss games.

Lots of good posts below but then somebody said we should get Traore. How I laughed - the singularly most useless player in God's earth. Wonderful biceps - totally useless footballer - if we pay a single penny for somebody as useless as him we are doomed.
We won’t though because we have a proper recruitment team. Maddison, Bowen and Cree would be the best summer window ever imho.

Somebody stop the LP spinning please. Baz wants a new manager. Because Farke has been so bad. Despite the utter ship show of our financial situation 2 fantastic years in the Champo. Then despite all the doom mongers calling for his head, relatively easy survival in the prem.
Now building on that and fingers crossed going 3rd in the table this evening. Farke out, Farke out. I agree he probably got a fair few things wrong last year, but he learned and he developed, much as our players have done over the last year too.
Have a growth mindset and accept that Farke can and is learning on the job and the longer we stick with him the better he will get. Could start again with some "name” manager but who? I love our cuddly German and I hope we stick with him for at least the next 2-3 seasons.

That is balanced Ealing. I am disappointed because I think we have missed opportunities v Man U and Palace by being too cautious. However, I think we are a much better side this year (at the back and keeper at least) so I don't envisage a relegation battle and hopefully we can build again in the summer and add goals and creativity, after having added a lot of rigour and solidity this time round.
Need the likes of okafor, Stach, Nmecha tanaka and Wilson to find form and chip in with goals like they did last year (not Wilson last year obvs, but promising signs there yesterday I thought) .

PS Random comment, but come on Brighton, can they "do a Leicester”? Whole world would be behind them I am sure (apart from Devon, Russia and USA) .
Also a point for Palace and Man U in the relegation zone. Oh yes.
PPS I hadn't realised that Manure had some link to the Busby Babes Munich disaster, as Ed said last week. Thought it was just because we all thought Man U were a pile of turd. Had I known I would not have used so apologies Ed, and won't use again. They are a pile of turd though.
{Ed001's Note - it is a shame, but it came about purely from a song sung by West Brom fans, who were still annoyed about Man U signing Duncan Edwards, I believe.}

First half we were good and deserved to be leading or at worst level. Second half was poor - not a single shot on target. Not really sure what the answer is, but I am pretty sure it is not Nmecha or Arronson.
