Leeds United linked with signing Charleroi and Algeria midfielder Yassine Titraoui.
Marseille also believed to be interested as are ahem blooming surprise surprise Sunderland.
We've seen this movie last summer. So will it be a Non or a Oui?
Baz Rating of Likelihood 5/10.
1.) 04 Jun 2026 16:45:06
Hull may be in the mix as well, but I agree, I don't think he'll end up at ER. The Humberside press is also linking Hull with Delap, but his wages, £100k per week, won't fit into their structure.
2.) 05 Jun 2026 01:35:39
Have Sunderland got more than us to spend again this window?
Obviously, they have euro as a carrot.
01 Apr 2025 02:37:14
with just 1 win in 5 and pressure right on
Reports today that Paraag Marathe offered Farke the opportunity to bring in a new number 1 replacement for GK Illian Meslier in Jan window
Farkey turned this offer down from Marathe.
Marathe's perplexed face at end of the game in the stadium following the latest Meslier debacle vs Swansea makes one wonder just how muchhe now trust Farkes judgment.
IMO Board need to pull rank on Farkey this week and insist that Mes is dropped now . but I am not sure whether they have the bottle to do so.
BUT given this Meslier replacement offer revelation its now more and more difficult to forsee Farke being our manager next season promoted or not under Marathe and Co.

It’s not an unfair perspective in all honesty this one, Baz. The new information that came to light in the last 48, if to be believed (! ) , does put a slightly different light on things as they stand. If it is true, then you’re right, it could be the decision that costs Farke his best and financed shot at the PL.
2.) 01 Apr 2025 13:58:40
Defo Brighty.
3.) 02 Apr 2025 00:57:33
Where did you hear that Baz?
4.) 02 Apr 2025 07:57:28
It’s been covered by several online outlets MoT. Not sure about the British rags tho, as I don’t get to see them.
5.) 03 Apr 2025 11:34:39
If that's the case, then it makes perfect sense why Farke didn't blame meslier; because doing so would be admitting his own mistake and, like farke of not, he is arrogant when it comes to his tactics/ ideas. We saw that last season with rutter/ Piroe playing out of position.
6.) 03 Apr 2025 15:56:21
Looks like truth to the speculation of my inintisl post above! .
Mes dropped ( ie Marathe sent heavies around to Farkey re must drop Meslier immediately!? )

Is anyone more than a tad nervous that Leeds United this season will do (considerably worse) than last season's 14th place and 47 points in EPL?
We have seen it happen very recently before with Leeds United
Namely the huge drop off from mercurial Marcelo's superb 20/21 season of 9th place and 59 points to follow in 21/22 season with a very disappointing perilous 17th and 38 points
For me Marathe, Farkey, Underwood and the rest of recruitment team must get the recruitment spot on this summer.
Most especially in
1) goalscoring players
A striker, wingers and an attacking midfielder. I have a feeling we might not get as many goals again from DCL this season
And
2) The goalkeeper situation for me will again become a huge concern if the club can't persuade Darlow to sign a new contract.
As we then must get it right in signing a quality reliable number 1. Perri is not anywhere near good enough to be our number 1 in EPL.
1.) 08 Jun 2026 15:47:47
I've said before that this season will be trickier. Fewer teams will come to ER going for 3 points. I.e. more will be happy leaving with a draw. That means we need to achieve more on our travels. Like you say, for that to happen, we need quality additions in key positions, and I'd add additional strength in depth.
Are both achievable at this stage of our development? I'm not sure, so next season will be very reminiscent of this season, I guess, yes.
2.) 08 Jun 2026 16:23:53
I agree, regarding DCL he might not score as many next season as we may not get as many penalties. Also, he has remained fit for the majority, despite his iffy injury record. As I have said before, no goals from such as Piroe or James when they have had game time, not much, I know, but still disappointing.
So signings capable of hitting double figures or just below is a must. A tough season ahead for Coventry and Ipswich, but they won't be relegation fodder, only Hull look certs to go down for me, so our recruitment has to be spot on.
3.) 08 Jun 2026 16:29:29
We will defo need more than just the 2 measly away wins we achieved this seez, Brighty.
I think we were in bottom 3 of away points accrued for the season, which simply must be improved upon!
More goalscoring players, more pace and more guile in our starting line up / squad, or it's going to be another attritional season.
Think this may well be Farke's last season at Leeds United, whatever happens.
4.) 08 Jun 2026 20:03:31
I'm nervous this season. I was nervous last season, and the one before that, and the one before that. For one reason or another, I've been nervous most seasons for the past 50 years - that's the life of a Leeds United fan. The recruitment team needs to be on their game this summer, and more firepower up front is a must.
The promoted teams will all be splashing the cash like Sunderland did last time around, and we must not relax and let them outbid us to our preferred targets.
5.) 08 Jun 2026 20:04:38
Believe Sunderland and ourselves have shown the blueprint for promoted sides surviving in the EPL, bigger, stronger players, well drilled and organised, not to lose.
Actually, believe the three promoted teams are weaker than the three relegated teams from last season, but, in my opinion, only Coventry is capable of springing a surprise without some major player investment for the others.
We were fortunate overall with injuries last season, but limped across the line, and we need a minimum of four or five better additions to even match last year's points haul.
There may be another West Ham scenario with so many teams playing in Europe. I've heard Brighton are planning almost separate squads for playing in Europe and the EPL.
I see us being OK, but it will be just as difficult as last season, and we urgently need more goals and creativity in the team if we are to stay up.
6.) 08 Jun 2026 20:46:48
Good posts, JR, and Class.
We all agreed we need more firepower.
As regards nerves.
I never used to get nervous pre season for Leeds United anytime in the 60s and 70s.
Even in the 81/82 season I wasn't nervous, and it was an utter surprise that Leeds United were relegated despite knowing we needed to sign a quality striker (instead we blew a record
£ 930, 000 on woeful winger Peter Barnes) .
The first ever season I had real genuine fear for Leeds United.
was 2003/04 season.
I really dreaded that season, thinking we were definitely going down before the season even commenced.and so it proved.
The 2007/ 08 season is a haze for me that I tend to completely gloss over.
The dreaded feeling was back in 2022/23 season (after the very disappointing near relegation 21/22 season) .again relegation happened!
And again some fear in 2025/26 season.thankfully I was wrong this time, and we ended staying up fairly comfortably!
7.) 09 Jun 2026 07:13:38
Bit early for panicking even for Leeds fans. Maybe wait a while, and see what happens over the summer before worrying too much?
8.) 09 Jun 2026 13:50:34
I'm always worried preseason regardless.
I'm actually looking forward to the next season, partly because I just like being a fan and following the team, but mostly because I can see the current setup works on the whole, and I'm pretty optimistic we're on the cusp of something better.
I think if we can just keep our second half level, it'll be a better season.
Fixtures out next week!
9.) 10 Jun 2026 11:05:22
Small wager that our first match is away at one of the current top 6.
10.) 10 Jun 2026 11:12:41
Take our chance, JR. All their players are probably out of sync because of the World Cup, hopefully.

Surprised it wasn't The Road Runner.
Meep Meep. ?
3.) 04 Jun 2026 13:11:25
Chris, ..Yep, I was thinking of doing so especially for you. ?
Indeed, LUFCfeath! ...What an absolute game changer Viduka would be for this Leeds United side!
4.) 04 Jun 2026 21:08:04
Indeed, if only someone could find us a new V Bomber, strength, speed, shooting and heading power, he had the lot.
21 May 2026 10:10:05
Leeds United's top 5
EPL goals per game
1st Yeboah 0.51 goals per game
2nd JFH 0.49 goals per game
3rd Fowler 0.47 goals per game
4th Viduka 0.45 goals per game
And
5th DCL 0.41 goals per game
My player of season DCL has had a great season.
1.) 21 May 2026 12:06:21
No denying that, Baz. Let's see if he gets a surprise call up tomorrow to top it off.
He's been a shrewd and effective signing.
2.) 21 May 2026 12:15:14
Indeed, Brighty.
3.) 21 May 2026 13:01:02
From the pre EPL era, in his first stay at ER, the great John Charles got 150 goals in 298 games, 0.5 goals per game. In his last season with us, he got 38 goals in a 46 game Div 1 season - 0.83 goals per game.
4.) 21 May 2026 13:10:58
I have heard he will indeed be getting a call up for the 3 Lions.
5.) 21 May 2026 13:22:28
John Charles, a different class, JR!!
(one of) our greatest ever players!
6.) 21 May 2026 13:29:42
Strike out the " (one of) ", Baz. JC was the greatest ever player born in Britain imo.
7.) 21 May 2026 13:47:23
Yep, JR, the fact that he was immensely superb at 2 very contrasting positions, CF and CD, makes him very, very special indeed.
8.) 21 May 2026 14:38:56
Dear old Dad supported Devon, what can you do, and loved the Charlton's, but said John Charles was the greatest footballer he'd ever seen play. Praise indeed.
9.) 21 May 2026 15:46:12
I bought a signed (by JC) framed shirt at a Leeds Utd auction about 20 years ago, which is the first thing you see as you walk into my house. Right next to my personalised signed boxing glove from Ricky Hatton. My prize possessions!
A real gent too was John Charles.
10.) 21 May 2026 17:14:44
Think I read somewhere that Alex Ferguson said Charles would always be in his all-time XI and could play cb or cf for him. I don't idolise anyone, even from the Revie era, like I do Charles. If there's one footballer I wish I could go back in time and watch, or have them in the modern game, it would be him.
11.) 21 May 2026 20:11:36
Legendary Bolton and England striker Nat Lofthouse said John Charles was the toughest center-half he ever faced. Similarly, England captain and centre-half Billy Wright said that he was the best centre-forward he ever faced.

Wow. Saints expelled from playoffs.

Bottom line..
Leeds United won't be making a bid for SC..
Strikers, LB, CD, GK priorities.
17 Jun 2026 08:36:30
We shall see, LeedsITK.. We already have 6 midfielders.. SC would make 7.. and not one of them an attacking goalscoring midfield playmaker.
17 Jun 2026 08:34:03
That was a settlement by Leeds with Everton (not Leicester) . Aus.
17 Jun 2026 07:14:00
Yes, of course, all opinions equally worthwhile, Bright.
16 Jun 2026 23:48:25
Your opinion, for what it's worth, Dazza.
We already have Amps, Stach, Tanaka, Longstaff, Gruev, BA.
Instead, we defo have much more pressing needs to recruit in than to blow £20 million on a box-to-box, non-scoring, non-assisting Champo SC.
Good runner, though. ?♂️ ?
Our transfer budget, imo, should be mostly spent on 3 quality, proven players that will make a big difference to our creativity and goalscoring. Pretty please.
We won't sign SC, thankfully.
Aimo

I would be a tad surprised if Man U signed Summerville. I rate Summerville, but not sure he is a UCL-level player. But he has broken into the Dutch team, to be fair, and defo EPL-level class.
The point is, why did master of deals (in his sleep) , Paraag Marathe and Co. very disappointingly and surprisingly fail to get a sell-on clause and any add-ons on Summerville in the 2024 lowish-fee sale.
17 Jun 2026 07:17:03
Summerville had 2 years left on his contract .. till 2026 (he left in summer 2024) .
17 Jun 2026 00:48:20
Byram being retained for another year isn't that surprising.
What is surprising is why our owners/management sold Summerville for just £25 million, without, it seems, a sell-on clause or any add-ons at all.
15 Jun 2026 19:33:14
Great result for Cape Verde.. Pleased for them.
15 Jun 2026 14:23:53
Davey, getting certain players out for good fees is needed, but I remain unconvinced that Paraag, Underwood and co can do it.
Baz summer tip.. Piroe goes overseas in cut price deal or he leaves on free next summer.
Agree with Cleggy's post.
