Dermot Gallagher comment: Flailing arm it's reckless not used as a weapon to inflict damage so yellow not red. To me yes reckless does not get the ball makes flailing downward contact with face so red.
Struijk fair challenge reckless, may be, gets the ball not used as a weapon to cause damage (all agree) so why not yellow not red. Cynical verdict maybe Struijk wears a Leeds shirt and of course Klopp has a say.

last season Bielsa made some adjustments for our home games against Man U, Chelski making it harder for those teams to create chances against us, I remember Tuchel was particularly frustrated; Bielsa and the team need to do that again

and Leeds United HOME supporters need to ALWAYS be truly the 12th man vociferous passionate raucous unconditional support with no turning against the team during the match ( leeds away fans are always brilliant at doing so )

Leeds are battling not just 19 EPL teams but also the corrupt and biased FA, EPL, and its officials and VAR

SO The Leeds family, the club and it supporters need to stay calm and be 120% DETERMINED to find solutions on the pitch to win EPL games.

If our injuries as bad for Watford as they are now then surely we must give Gelhart a chance. As for midfield I would not be unhappy seeing Sean McGurk given a go. If not then Lewis Bate is not that far behind him. If that thought is far too radical how about trying Harrison at No.8?

Gelhardt must from now ( instead of the likes of Roberts ) be given games at first team level.

Gelhardt superb goalscoring and assists talent, physical power, winners attitude and determination very clear to see

He is also very adept indeed at winning penaltiesr.

Goal scoreing is part a god given talent. The ability, to more often than not make the correct snap decision, pass shoot, in a split second and to be finely balanced to perform the pass/ shot. Sadly, Roberts does not appear to posess that ability Gelhardt, on the other hand shows he does. Just give him the chance. Save yourself millions. He will not disappoint. Maybe even for the odd game give the opposition another headache and play two up top?

Used for the first time, the Park and Ride facility at Temple Green and having changed my plans prior to the game I found myself on the M621 travelling past ER to get to Temple Green. TOM TOM sat-nav took me to a place where loads of cars parked up. Sadly it was British Car Auctions where a security guard kindly directed me to to the P&R. I was of the opinion that I wasn't the lost soul who he had helped that morning. I later found that the approach from the M1 South is clearly sign posted. Arrived at 2.00pm. Good transfer to ER took 10 mins and I was in my seat by 2.30pm. Equally good return to the P&R made it easy for me to connect with the M62 and A1 South. I would recommend it at £10.00 compared to £6.00 next to the Peacock as an alternative to finding a parking place close to the ground. It makes good sense.

Quick update on Mateusz Bogusz. He was on the bench for the home match v Oviedo, coming on for the last half hour. Disappointingly it was two Oviedo subs who changed the outcome, combining in the 72nd minute for the equaliser in the 1-1 draw.

Any concerns that it had been Javi Lara, the man who started ahead of Bogusz, that had opened the scoring in that match, were quickly dispelled when Bogusz started in last weekend’s home game v Burgos. And he took little time to return to scoring form, with a 15th minute 30+yard scorcher, bending beyond the keeper’s reach into the top right corner. Imagine him and Joffy playing together for us - opposing keepers would be on tenterhooks all match every time one of them was on the ball within 40 yards of the goal. He was taken off just before the hour mark as part of a planned double substitution, and Ibiza extended their lead 20 minutes later, to close out a 2-0 win, leaving them 4th in the table after 7 matches. Next up is a match at 6th placed Eibar.

Michael Owen’s classic punditry work at its best on the weekend with "I remember when Ilan Meslier was playing for the Leeds academy" Oh really Michael that’s fascinating, I could of swore he came from Lorient fc?!
Well you’re the expert.
I heard a comment that, if I was stuck on a dessert island with Michael Owen and a tin of corned beef, I’d eat Micheal and talk to the corned beef. 🤣.

Worrying stat from last 3 league games. Whilst "only" conceding 6 goals, we've faced a mammoth 67 shots on target in that time. That's 1 every 242 seconds and that's just the on target shots. Worst top flight start in almost 9 decades. Don't think Bielsa can afford to lose against Hornets. Fact is teams know how to play against us now. He ought to have changed things a little in midfield in order to combat opposition knowledge but this required investment and we were too busy haggling over pocket change and not pursuing the correct targets. #self-sabotage.

I think it’s a mix of biesla stuborrness and players under performing and injuries.
We not anywhere the team of last year.
Very disjointed.
It’s going to be a long season.
Jan we need striker and midfielder.
Our youngsters although talented are not world beaters and prem capable. They may keep us up but no more x.

If bielsa was managing any other club and had started the season like this then he would be standing over the trap door. He is living on his record for the past few seasons at Leeds. How long do you realistically he will survive it things don't improve. Personally I don't think he will be here next season.

Think that's a bit harsh Mezz, yes we ain't started well that's true. But of the games we have played 4 of those clubs will finish top 8 so I suppose a bit of context is needed , but I really wouldn't want bubs to given the boot due to this poor start

Let's now see what the man is made of in terms upping the morale, tweaking the game plan. But it is really after driving me mad to think we let pre season go without proper additions in crucial areas.

Cant seriously be saying sack the best manager we've had since Sgt Wilko?
Might get lucky if we did and persuade Woy to come out of Wetirement, or even better big Sam, or if were really lucky Mark Hughes
6 games, with injuries against decent opposition.

I now see what you have done here. Some writers very loosely refer to any shot as a shot on goal (rather than describing it as a shot at goal) , which some readers (including you) might confuse as meaning shot on target. Over the last 3 games our opponents have indeed attempted 67 shots at goal, of which 23 were on target, which is one every 704 seconds (around 11.7 minutes) . Yes that is higher than we, and Bielsa, would wish, but nothing like the alarmist picture you presented with “a mammoth 67 …… and that’s just the shots on target”.

Never said sack bielsa, not even saying we should. Just saying he probably be looking over his shoulder at the door if he was elsewhere. But the guy has got to now prove his worth, let's hope for Leeds sake and our premiership status his stubbornness isn't his downfall. Reality is he doesn't usually stay around too long anywhere.

Who would you get instead of Bielsa?

Let's see how the next 4 games go before we get too panicky.

I actually don't think the board would mind if we went down. Could cash in on Philips and Raph and give the youth a chance to gel and get us promotion.

27 Sep 2021 14:39:03
Alf - there’s no way the Board would be happy with us going down. It would be a massive gamble. They’ve seen how difficult it is to get out of the Championship - it would require everything to go right for us, probably starting with choice of a new manager, and they also know it would be giving the EFL another chance to try its best to keep us subjugated.
