Rumour circulating that Coventty City are planning to spend £200M to prepare for life in the PL, echoes if Sunderland last time round. Our recruitment team need to be on their A game as they'll likely be looking at the same targets as us.
20 Apr 2026 11:12:48.
Wolverhampton Express and Star say we want Wolves left back Ladislav Krejci, who had quite a good game against us yesterday.
Also, Football Insider says we have an interest in Brazilian Leo Scienza at Southampton who plays as either a winger or attacking midfielder, but that probably won't happen if they get promoted to PL.
1.) 20 Apr 2026 12:36:27
Is he a LB or CB?
I'd happily take Bueno from Wolves as LB competition for Gabby.
2.) 20 Apr 2026 14:03:35
Need improvements, not squad players. 3 starters. Minimum.
07 Apr 2026 14:34:02
Because of the cup semi final, our Bournemouth away game has been moved to Wed April 22nd, but Chelsea's game has been moved to Tue April 21st, so they get a 4 day gap but we only get 3 days - strange that. ?
1.) 07 Apr 2026 16:36:52
ED
I thought I was posting this entry on the Leeds Banter page, but it ended up here. This is the second time this has happened to me recently, how do I ensure my posts end up on the Banter page and not on the Rumours page like this?
{Ed025's Note - thinks have changed recently JR and AI now picks where posts go, if you answer a post on banter it will go on banter mate but new posts will come to the editor who will then decide where it goes, its just the way it works..
2.) 07 Apr 2026 22:11:39
We also play on the Friday after the Cup game, and they can rest until the following Monday, so get the best of both worlds!
3.) 08 Apr 2026 03:43:59
Crazy that.
05 Apr 2026 15:50:00
No Gudmundsson in the team today, or on the bench - maybe his knock playing for Sweden was worse than they thought.
1.) 05 Apr 2026 16:18:19
Think he's suspended?
2.) 05 Apr 2026 21:33:42
From what, Corkey?
He served his suspension for the two yellow cards he got against Palace.
3.) 05 Apr 2026 23:18:18
Tight hamstring, Farke said, not thought to be serious, but deemed not worth the risk.
4.) 06 Apr 2026 08:51:58
What Class said. ?
5.) 06 Apr 2026 09:39:47
DJ, on the other hand, has a new abductor injury, which could keep him out for weeks. It has to be his last season at the club.
6.) 06 Apr 2026 12:54:47
Not likely, Class. At all!
Leeds hierarchy handed DJ a contract up to 2029, so a further 3 seasons after this one.
And he is on, I believe, around a substantial £70K a week, which many clubs could/would not match.
And it has been reported Leeds have no plans at all to try to offload him.
So DJ is not going anywhere, Class!
Most players, at some point, suffer injuries, including recurring injuries during their career. It's fairly normal.
And, hopefully, DJ's injury issues this season are fully resolved by our medical/physio team this summer off-season!
7.) 06 Apr 2026 13:28:35
Wow! Four-year contract, take a bow, DJ's agent.
No doubt he’s a force at Championship level, Baz, but we haven’t seen anything like a level of consistency in the EPL.
The recurring hamstring and muscle abductor injuries are a concern, and while I wish the lad well and he’s been a good servant, especially in getting us promoted, I very much doubt the wisdom of awarding a four-year deal, especially with his more recent injury record.
8.) 06 Apr 2026 13:39:40
Yep, he has a good agent. ?
Hopefully, as I say, his injury issue is fully resolved by our medics this close season. ?

BBC say that Wolves have accepted a new offer from Palace for JSL of £43M plus £5M in add ons so £48M in total. So our lot can finally stop p#ssing about and go for Plan B (if they have one) !
1.) 01 Feb 2026 15:44:11
Should have given a final offer last week.
Pretty late to start negotiating so hopefully something else was already started.
2.) 01 Feb 2026 17:08:45
No more incoming now according to the ITKs.
3.) 01 Feb 2026 18:35:02
The itks are every fan who knows that Leeds united are being run by a bunch of amateur fools who have no idea what Leeds means or how to run a football club.
4.) 01 Feb 2026 18:44:54
The same ITKs that never saw Buonanotte coming, and then told us that we'd "agreed to bring in Mohamed Amoura from Wolfsburg"? You need to take a more sceptical attitude to what they say. To me they're just wannabe ITKs but actually only DKs like the rest of us.
5.) 01 Feb 2026 20:53:51
Lol! Bang on JR!
6.) 01 Feb 2026 21:36:50
Zinny Boswell at Sky Sports is saying an alternative striker is unlikely for us. I think our business is done.

According to Steven Gerrard, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was on Leeds United’s shortlist ahead of the 21/22 season. He was then with Rubin Kazan in Russia after contributing to 12 goals the previous season. Allegedly Leeds had talks with him and his camp, but ultimately chose to sign Dan James instead. What a signing he'd have been!
1.) 08 May 2026 07:23:56
Think the Ukraine war had a big part of us missing out on him, JR!
He said himself that Leeds were in contact!

Classic quote from the late great Eric Morecambe in today's Daily Telegraph
"I used to play football in my youth. Then my eyes went bad. That’s why I became a referee."
1.) 30 Apr 2026 14:44:31
Man. Morecome and wise. Ma pa still kicking at 85 used to watch them all the time. I was allowed every now and then. But most of the time heard the theme tunes of
Virginian. Morecombe. Cilla. Bruce. Top of the pops. Match of the day and heaven forbid. Dixon of dock green.
From the stairs hoping and waiting to be called in to watch.
2.) 30 Apr 2026 17:09:31
Bruce, an absolute television entertainment legend, Aus.. Really liked the Generation Game.
3.) 30 Apr 2026 17:39:08
Yes, I used to tell the captains that, at the beginning of every game during the coin toss. It helped keep the mood a bit jovial, and also sent a warning that if players shouted at me, and did it repetitively, they would have to accept a present, in the form of a nice colored card. ..
Most times it worked. ..
But, in fairness to the Refs, they are being told (I know a couple of FIFA guys) to allow certain things to go, and if it's bad, VAR will catch it.
Looking at Arsenal's game yesterday, that was a clear penalty, but the VAR told the Ref that there was not enough contact to award it . Again, they are being told by those in charge what they should call and shouldn't, instead of letting them make the decision.
Really want to see how many get sent off, for a second offense, when they cover their mouths to talk to each other.
Sometimes it's a very lonely and thankless job.
28 Apr 2026 11:22:16
Now that the two FA Cup finalists are known, perhaps the bookies should start to offer odds on which team will be first to employ the bogus goalkeeper injury scam. ?
1.) 28 Apr 2026 14:07:47
Simply take gk to sideline for 30secs. Done. And do more of what Amps did.
09 Mar 2026 19:25:02
Quarter final draw. Wet Sham or Brentford away. Away again, but not the worst draw we could have got.
1.) 09 Mar 2026 19:43:40
Both are winnable. Only difference is 9,000 Leeds at West Ham, or a paltry 2,000 at Brentford. Last team out again for the second time.
2.) 09 Mar 2026 20:11:58
32 out of 38 away draws, unbelievable stat, but a winnable tie. A couple of league wins before we play it would be superb.
3.) 09 Mar 2026 20:18:51
I agree on everything there, Feath.
We are due an away win!
Hopefully start this weekend?
4.) 09 Mar 2026 22:45:45
Spam it is then.
5.) 10 Mar 2026 09:05:39
Yes, Cork, 3 points at Palace could be our most important result of the season if we can do it.
6.) 10 Mar 2026 11:34:47
Of course, any home draw would have been great for the fans against any club, but personally I'd rather have West Ham away than Port Vale away, and I'm quite serious about that.
Playing lower league clubs goes against the grain of what your team is set up to play most of the time.
They can be very awkward and unpredictable.
Playing West Ham away in a Cup game has the potential for penalties, in my estimation.
Hopefully a good game, with possibly Cree out injured?
7.) 10 Mar 2026 19:38:47
And Bowen too, OP. Those two have got 40% of their goals this season.
01 Mar 2026 16:14:38
Spuds and Florists both beaten, now that's what I call a Super Sunday.
13 May 2026 07:26:53
I thought Whittaker was good last year when he was at Plymouth, but not seen enough of him this year. Can't think of anyone else.
12 May 2026 12:08:01
Very interesting!
Mebbe he's fallen out with Kinnear?
07 May 2026 06:44:04
If we're looking at Japanese players, Ayase Ueda has got an impressive scoring record at Feyenoord.
30 Apr 2026 21:16:29
We've been linked with him before, and reports on him look promising, but I do wonder if he's as good as it seems. Why is nobody else looking at him? What's the catch?
25 Apr 2026 07:11:13
Or is this the usual uninformed guesswork that usually starts to circulate at this time of year.
Believe it when/if I see it.
12 May 2026 23:28:24
And mebbe Palace & Newcastle by the end. ?
12 May 2026 23:24:34
True!
12 May 2026 23:07:47
Yes, I really thought 1 minute should be enough, but only said 2 because I was unsure when the period should start. If it starts when the announcement goes up on the stadium screen, then I'd stick with 2, but if it starts when the ref is called to the pitchside monitor, then 1 should suffice.
{Ed001's Note - I just want it to be as quick as possible and anyway, if it is clear and obvious it should only take seconds to see.}
12 May 2026 22:51:17
Agree 100% with your analysis of the Leeds v Spurs game, very succinctly put.
Regarding the Arsenal v West Ham VAR issue, I believe the answer is to be found in the audio exchange between the Ref and VAR, which is probably why West Ham have requested access to it.
1. Was it a foul? Clearly it was.
2. Did the Ref see what happened, and decide not to disallow the goal? Then it was not a clear and obvious error, and the goal should have stood.
3. Did the Ref not see clearly what happened, and only change his ruling after seeing the VAR replays? Then the goal was correctly disallowed.
Finally, unless the Ref and VAR had access to camera footage we did not see, I see no good reason why the decision took 5 minutes. One good change to the VAR rules for the future might be to say that if a decision cannot be reached in, say, 2 minutes, then the on field ruling stands.
{Ed001's Note - thanks JR. I agree with you, especially on the time limit on VAR, though I would have less time personally. The beauty of football was its tendency to just flow, which is being destroyed.}
12 May 2026 22:22:04
Plus, if Saints don't come up, Leo Scienza looks quite handy.
