According to Calciomercato in Italy,
Leeds United are ahead of Aston Villa in the battle to sign 23-year-old Japan goalkeeper Zion Suzuki from Serie A side Parma.

JR16

1.) 29 Jun 2026 14:27:16
Prefer the derby bloke tbh. But motorbike is better than Perri. Not sure either would agree to be back until, if Darlow is given the first choice nod, which I expect, he woulda been to see off Devon interest.

2.) 29 Jun 2026 15:26:27
Apparently Darlow wants to stay at Leeds, partly due to him and his family being settled here, and also being with his Welsh teammates, but not necessarily pushing for 1st team football. He mainly wanted better wages.

3.) 29 Jun 2026 15:56:51
There's absolutely no way we spend £25-30m on Suzuki to be back up to a 35-year-old Darlow.
I wouldn't be too surprised to see Perri or Gnonto go the other way to "cheapen" the cash involved in any deal.

4.) 29 Jun 2026 16:25:47
I quite fancy the Freiburg goalie Noah Atubolu, but he's also rated at £25M. However, Freiburg want to sign Willie Gnonto, so some sort of PX deal could be possible.

5.) 29 Jun 2026 20:02:08
Apart from Darlow our recruitment of keepers over the last few years has been abysmal. I don't think Perri is a total lost cause at the moment but FGS just strike a deal with KD and shut down the rumours that we're about to spend £25 m plus on a replacement.

There are other areas that need more urgent attention and cash.
Fabrizio Romano confirming that the Harry Wilson deal is now done?

24 Jun 2026 12:58:58
At 12:39 today Leeds Live announced that "Leeds United have agreed a deal to sign Harry Wilson as a free agent, with a medical to follow in due course."
Looks like the rumours are finally coming to pass.

JR16

1.) 24 Jun 2026 17:14:21
Great news, JR.

2.) 25 Jun 2026 01:03:02
Of course, contrary to what some people would have us believe, I'm pretty sure it won't be a "done deal" until after the medical. I know I'd not sign the contract on behalf of the club until that is complete. Those of us with long memories only need to cite the name Asa Hartford in that respect.

17 Jun 2026 01:24:50
NewsNow reports that we're considering taking legal action against Leicester City, same as Burnley did. Maybe a few more £Ms to add to the transfer pot.

JR16

1.) 17 Jun 2026 07:51:31
Thought we settled on that. Out of court?

2.) 17 Jun 2026 08:31:38
Wasn't it Everton that settled with Burnley? This is for the season we lost in the playoffs to Southampton.

3.) 17 Jun 2026 08:34:03
That was a settlement by Leeds with Everton (not Leicester) . Aus.

4.) 17 Jun 2026 09:00:20
Then fans should sue LUFC for reimbursement on the absolute shambolic attempt at promotion in that game.

It was quite possibly the worst playoff final ever, accruing big costs to our fans.

Sticks in my mind, like it was last Sunday, that game. ?

5.) 17 Jun 2026 09:26:17
Leeds settled for £1.5m because we weren't relegated, but finished below Everton. Burnley got £30m because they were relegated, and the financial loss was much more significant.

6.) 17 Jun 2026 11:31:18
Sorry, should've said "same as Burnley did - with Everton".

7.) 17 Jun 2026 13:26:29
We also didn't think we had enough of a case to push for more from Everton. The Leicester case is very different, and the Burnley vs Everton ruling sets a new precedent, which did not exist at the time.

8.) 17 Jun 2026 16:25:19
Yep, that Burnley Everton precedent ruling is key.

05 Jun 2026 11:11:28
Rumour in the Yorkshire Evening Post that we're thinking of a loan deal with Barcelona for Roony Bardghji, a highly rated 20 yr old Swedish right winger. Since Barcelona still owe us around €42m (£36.5m) on the Raphina deal, maybe we could offer them a small reduction in that debt in exchange for a free loan deal, maybe with an option to buy too.

JR16

1.) 05 Jun 2026 11:57:45
They've just bought Gordon, and the Rashford deal isn't dead if they can lever the fee down a bit, so Bardghji is probably way down the pecking order. I'd read that Barca were keen to sell. They paid EUR2m for him a year ago on a four-year contract, but want substantially more. Interest from several PL clubs, allegedly.

2.) 05 Jun 2026 13:12:43
Fairly sure Leeds have confirmed the fee for Raph has been paid. They may owe someone else, as someone loaned the money to pay us, though.

3.) 05 Jun 2026 13:22:44
The Rapha thing is all cleared up a long time ago. The lad is defo worth a butchers tho.

4.) 05 Jun 2026 13:44:06
Reading further, you're probably right, Canada, but looking him up on YouTube, he looks quite tasty. He's listed as a right winger, but is two-footed, with a stronger left, and would work well as a CAM. An upgrade on BA for sure.

5.) 05 Jun 2026 14:11:35
Raphinha fee was paid ages ago.
Barcelona owe the funds to the backer who paid us.
Don't want Roony on loan unless it's a loan with obligation. Don't want to be developing players who won't be staying around.

6.) 05 Jun 2026 15:01:54
Fake story.

7.) 05 Jun 2026 15:51:47
Always hard to tell, so many players are great in one league and useless in another, due to speed, physicality, standards, etc., differences.

8.) 06 Jun 2026 04:16:19
Oi Oi. Has that geezer changed his name, or are there two miserable gits that are not in the know?
Been linked with half of Europe already, and the window is not open yet. No lack of squad depth next season. Most likely, once the window opens, it will be quiet for two months.

9.) 06 Jun 2026 11:53:38
Is it Smythe in disguise, d'you reckon, Aus? ???

10.) 06 Jun 2026 13:33:09
Must be bright. Thanks for getting it. ?

11.) 07 Jun 2026 11:36:02
Talk is of a 22m bid now, rather than a loan.

24 May 2026 09:24:41
New rumour started today that we're interested in Shea Charles. Not seen a lot of him myself, but some who have rate him highly.

JR16

1.) 24 May 2026 12:48:35
Did see him in one game this season and was impressed for sure. Haven't seen enough to know if he's good enough though.

2.) 24 May 2026 14:04:03
Not sure why we would be interested in him tbh. What does he bring to improve our team or squad?

3.) 24 May 2026 15:35:02
He's a good player and if we are looking at him we won't be the only ones. In addition to his talent, his height and his athleticism, he brings some versatility to the team as well.

He's primarily a defensive midfielder, but can play CB, RB, and more advanced as well.
I like the idea of having one or two in the squad who can fill several roles. It worked well with Madeley.

4.) 25 May 2026 09:42:11
Think, as well as looking at versatility, we need to focus on specialists. In the key positions needed.

5.) 25 May 2026 12:55:31
Agreed. New striker (or two) , AM and 2x WB plus replacements for any we offload.
Re Madeley, I think during his career he played with every outfield number on his back, including 9 - although I stand to be corrected on that.

6.) 25 May 2026 13:29:13
Madeley shirts 2 to 12.

Watching Ecuador v Germany, and Ecuador have a RWB called John Yeboah, it couldn't be could it? He's even wearing the No 9 shirt!

JR16

1.) 26 Jun 2026 12:48:29
No direct relation to the Leeds Legend.

2.) 26 Jun 2026 16:15:28
Don't be a party pooper with my dreams, Alf.

3.) 26 Jun 2026 17:50:21
Sorry, buddy. I recall that Yeboah had at least one son who was a footballer and started breaking through about the same time as Haaland, but I'm not sure what became of him. I'm guessing he didn't make the grade, or certainly not at the top level.

Hi Ed, my rumours post timed at 12.58 is marked as approved, but hasn't appeared anywhere yet, has it got mislaid?

JR16

{Ed033's Note - It's a rumour, put on the Leeds Rumours page (home page)

22 Jun 2026 07:50:20
Just when we thought VAR had got better at WC26, they took about 3 mins to rule on one of the most obvious offsides at the end of the Spain v Saudi Arabia game.

JR16

20 Jun 2026 09:30:58
Something that concerns me about World Cup final tournaments is the inexperience levels of some of the officials. Take a match between two teams chock full of players taken from the big leagues of Europe and South America, and put it in the control of a ref from Jamaica or New Zealand or Jordan, and they'll be totally unaware of the dark arts and gamesmanship they'll have to deal with.

I spotted a couple of incidents in the Morocco v Scotland game which the Uzbek ref let go where a more experienced official might have given at least a free kick, maybe even a yellow card. I don't think they affected the result, but they could have done. When/ if we reach the knockout phase I'll always be happier to have a German or Italian ref rather than a Jordanian or Jamaican.

JR16

1.) 20 Jun 2026 09:56:44
I had a laugh at two female fourth officials trying to figure out how the sub board worked in the Scotland game. Hilarious.

2.) 20 Jun 2026 11:50:23
I guess you didn't find it funny in the Brazil game when the men struggled with it, Aus?

3.) 20 Jun 2026 13:55:23
To be honest, whilst I agree there have been a couple of questionable decisions, I have preferred the level and method of refereeing far more than any given weekend in the EPL.

It's been a breath of fresh air v the constant stop start crap we get most weekends.

Has anyone else appreciated the new medical breakthrough rendering near-death injuries fully cured in a few seconds; who knew, all it needed, was the referee ignoring you and / or the imminent prospect of the trainer coming on [and a minute of the side-lines].

Even VAR has almost become workable [I hate VAR].

4.) 20 Jun 2026 13:00:05
Yeah I did ani. Did you find it funny the women struggling? Or just the men?

5.) 20 Jun 2026 14:50:40
Second post, I agree with Ani 100%.
Think there has been less diving, there has also been less staying down if no whistle. If I heard correctly, if a trainer comes on, it's minimum 30 sec on the sideline before the player can come back on.
Think the second round has been a lot dirtier and nigglier than the first round.

USA, Aus and Paraguay, Turk, were very niggly.
I don't get it, also. Not a corner, penalty or anything serious. When has a ref ever changed their mind on a simple free kick? Why challenge it? Also, I didn't like the Mexican manager saying the player dived. Not etiquette.
More to come.

{Ed001's Note - 30 secs was the Prem reg last season, in the WC it is 1 minute mate.}

20 Jun 2026 09:09:52
Just watched the Scotland v Morocco match, and Scotland did better than I anticipated only losing 1:0 - I thought they'd probably lose 2:0 or 3:0. I thought the decision not to give them a pen was correct.

JR16

1.) 20 Jun 2026 09:58:40
Scotland did not embarrass themselves, to be honest. I was expecting them to get trounced v Morocco. If they beat Brazil they are through. ??

2.) 20 Jun 2026 10:45:01
Having already got 3 pts on the board, they still have a (small) chance of going through as one of the 8 best 3rd place teams.

3.) 20 Jun 2026 10:59:44
Thought they fought hard. Being polite, I thought McGinn and McTominay were looking for pens. I wish they'd been a bit braver earlier in the game.

4.) 20 Jun 2026 22:11:47
Let's not pussyfoot about it, Scotland, we're s****!
My m8 Traff, who takes me to church, is a big Scotland fan .. not even Scottish lol.
Personally thought Morocco would batter them!
Roll on Notts Forest. Up the Whites, Down the Pints. ???

His book value is £22M, so £20M with a few add-ons (international appearances etc) and a 15-20% sell-on fee is OK. Better £20M now than diddly in 12 months time.

His Man City contract is til 2030, so likely they're in no hurry to sell, thinking they'd be able to grab him back when Donnarumma gets too old - hence the extravagant price, so it may have to be just a loan, but that would at least have less impact on our SCR spending limit.

Sorry Alf, Pascal is only 26, not 29, and, by my recollection, has not had a noticeably exceptional injury history. The rest of what you say, I don't take issue with; I just want to set the record straight.

Maybe they wanted to get the deal over the line early, so as to show potential targets that there is a ready made space waiting for them.

Personally, I never really fancied him, so it's a no from me, and certainly not at £20-25M. Something like £15-18M would be more appropriate if we did go for him.

On paper all seem suitable, but Krejci does have PL experience, which counts extra for me, and Diomande looks like being too expensive.
