I can only imagine we don't want to tigger Bahoyas buy clause
We may as well send him back and get someone else in January on loan that Farke actually wants.

Definitely looks that wayn.

2.) 14 Sep 2026 22:07:00
Bloody hell! We just smashed the geordies, and thats the first post we read! ??‍♂️??.

3.) 14 Sep 2026 22:23:09
The win is great goes without saying.

4.) 15 Sep 2026 07:44:31
Last night did seem an ideal opportunity to give JMB a run out, but it's rough to carp after a team performance like that, so we have to trust the system and hope to see him soon.

5.) 15 Sep 2026 22:28:35
Obligation to buy as I understand so won't make any difference if we play him or not.

6.) 16 Sep 2026 18:18:09
Think it's an easily achieved triggered obligation. Ie as little as one or two appearances much like Ramazani at Burnley.

I don't know that there's dislike there. Farke normally gives everyone a chance even he clearly didn't fancy Buononotte and Schmidt they got limited chances. Admittedly they weren't on the hook for a triggering 20m +.

I also think with Bahoya coming from Germany, it could be a 'Farke' network signing as much as aligning with recruitment. Certainly I think recruitment team wouldn't have so much autonomy over the manager to agree an easily triggered obligation when the final fee would be so high. Unless there's some bad blood and they expect Farke out, which doesn't fit the vibe in the squad right now. I also read the Farke used personal connections to get the Bahoya deal over the line. He wouldn't do that if he didn't fancy the player. I just think because the lad isn't Prem experienced they're being a tad gentle in acclimating him.

The oft referred to poster boys Brighton and Brentford are famous for bedding in their players carefully, without too much early pressure. Learn the new country, learn the new system, learn the new teammates. If he doesn't go with the France U21s in the international break, use that as a pre-season lite, and revisit in eight weeks.

Early days but its not as if the other target we chased in Mudryk impressing at all.

Bard confirmed by club.
Nothing official from club about Bahoya?

Very good window build season on season.

Romana stating the Perri to Torino deal he’s done.
He’s been given the green light to travel.

Yep - Zetterer should be incoming shortly.

2.) 27 Aug 2026 14:01:24
PJ on its way to Frankfurt at 3:00pm. Likely on its way to pick up Zetterer.

3.) 27 Aug 2026 17:04:53
Let's hope he's betterer than Perri.

4.) 27 Aug 2026 23:52:05
Have a look at some highlights of last season and get back to us.

5.) 28 Aug 2026 01:08:04
Mebbe we should be studying his bloopers rather than highlights.

Plan points a point.
I think our slack passing at times and awful crosses and set pieces have become a theme for the season.
Justin and Okafor seem to over hit every cross.
Final decisions passing at the wrong time as well. Just not quite there at the moment in the attacking third.

DevonWhite

1.) 18 Oct 2026 18:13:32
Good post Devon. JJ was unusually poor with his crosses today. Unfortunately it's becoming a theme with Okafor. In saying that we are way more dangerous with Okafor on the pitch.

2.) 18 Oct 2026 19:09:05
Bogle's crosses were decent, Justin less so, GG had one very decent looking one in the second half.

Think it looked like they flooded the midfield. Tielemans, Fernandes, Baleba, Santos made it hard for both teams to attack, and few clear cut chances for either team bar the goals.

Our opening seven games get a nice 8/10 from me. We held Brighton and Brentford (that former result looking increasingly impressive in the context) . 9/10 would have been a Palace win. 9.5 = turning today or Arsenal into a better result.

We have to really fancy Sunderland away. Ballard injured, Danso suspended and their defence in general had a horror show today. They also have an away tie in Europa midweek. Chance for the legs to get tired, heads to drop if they lose again. Don't want injuries to happen either but they could.

Cant help but wonder if Bahoya is knocking on the door for a few more minutes with Okafor struggling. Have to admit I roll my eyes watching Nmecha come on to play wide every time. He can do it as a stopgap but not brilliant at it.

Very disappointing
We were outworked and out played
Stach looked aimless
Very little movement on and off the ball
Lucky probably to come away with a point.

Dcl

Okafor. Dan James

Tanaka Ampadu

Gudmonson Bogle

Tarik. Elvedi Justin

Trafford

It feels like this is our best 11 at moment. Not sure what you guys think. If we need to we could go 4-3–2-1 and bring on Stach for one of the 3 Cbs

DevonWhite

1.) 11 Sep 2026 10:01:46
I would sacrifice James or Okafor for a mid. Stach, Gruev when fit, or Longstaff. Need 3 mids I reckon.

2.) 11 Sep 2026 10:39:38
James? Strange choice.
Take him out for either Stach or Wilson. Or really go for it with Bahoya.

3.) 11 Sep 2026 11:03:28
DJ needs more time to get up to the right level. Still don't believe that even at his best, he's good enough to warrant starting.

4.) 11 Sep 2026 11:18:44
Good post, Devon, you've definitely got the 3 CBs right.

For me, Gudmundsson is a weak leak defensively, but we have not signed a better replacement this summer.

He hasn't been playing well, but I would still pick Stach for now (in for DJ) .

I would like to see JMB play to assess him.

5.) 11 Sep 2026 13:42:24
Not a bad 11, Devon, but I'd start with Stach for Tanaka, and Wilson for DJ, but use Bijol, DJ, Tanaka, JMB, Nmecha for tactical substitutions.

6.) 11 Sep 2026 14:15:33
Gudmundsson's first minutes of the season. I think he was quite decent last season. Carefully coming back from a hamstring, understandable.

7.) 11 Sep 2026 20:35:48
Truth is, and it pains me to say it, a misfiring, poor Wilson is better than a good, misfiring James. The best thing about James is he keeps defences busy, but he just can't deliver a decent cross consistently, whereas Wilson also keeps defences busy, but actually can deliver a cross.

We are not seeing the best Wilson yet.

Gudmundsson and Okafor are our best left-side options, even though Gudmundsson is vulnerable at the back (like Firpo was) , but he creates chances.

10 Sep 2026 18:13:36
Why has Bijol started to look scared of the ball?
He’s turning his back on the shots.

No Piaxo
No Mudryk
No Flemming

But we may get a journeyman utility player that turned us down for Bournemouth not long ago.

He was offered to us. No chance we are in for him though. Not at the level we want
We want £50m players, but at a £10m price tag, hence we aren't getting anyone.

Surely, we can allow Gnonto to go on a loan. That's ridiculous.

I'm with Canada
At the moment I still think focus on avoiding on relegation
Out net spend is minimal
The promoted teams look like they could
Be competitive
The teams who are struggling like spurs, palace and Fulham no doubt will get much better we shouldn't get carried away with the Newcastle win or too despondent with today's poor show.

Flemming is probably too similar in profile to Nmecha and Dcl? Personally, I think we need more pace.

Farke's first season, he had to sort out the absolute mess of a squad in the summer, and we got to the play-offs. Then, second season, we won promotion. In our first season in the Premier League, Farke changed the system during the Man City game, and we were ranked 7th in the Premier League from that point on.

During April and May, only Arsenal got more points than us.

He then changed the system at half time today, and we looked much better in the second half against an excellent Brentford team.

Also, our net spend is less than all promoted teams so far this window.
I'm quite convinced he's done a good job for us.
