So Farke has confirmed that Elvedi is close and Bournaw is off then. Another upgrade I think, but I still say that if we don't sign cover for Calvert-Lewin it's beenna bad window. Surely he won't play 38 games this season?

I feel like someone will be brought in closer to the window closing. At the moment, we do have others that can slot into that role. It may not be the quality, but bodies are there.
We do need reinforcements in the defensive area, especially LB and 2nd GK.
I reckon another 2-3 incomings for sure.

Agree with Dg that we need cover for DCL. Unless we've a loan option lined up, I'd still go for Fleming. He did well at this level last season in a poor side, and is not ridiculously expensive. Surprised he hasn't gone already.
Would have liked to ship Piroe out in part exchange, but other posters are suggesting that he's going to the Hammers.

Just seen a rumour linking us with Delap. Probably nothing in it. It's silly season after all. Interesting though. Awful time at Chelsea, but there still could be a player in there.

I think it's safe to assume at this stage that no one is coming. Bit i'd they don't intend to sign anyone why not put us out of our misery? They know we spend every deadline day refreshing 10 different websites like idiots. Think how many cases of RSI could be avoided? How much money it costs the economy with us not really working? And if they don't tell us that nothing is happening because they are actually trying to sign people, why does it never happen? Ever? You'd think just by chance it would work out now and again.
I'm not even sure I particularly want anyone, I just want a deadline day signing, just once, just so I k ow what it feels like.

I have had all sorts of issues with the single sign-in. I eventually went through to the ticketing support to get it sorted. My account wasn't showing my membership, so I couldn't book tickets, etc. Sorted after about a 5-minute chat with them.

Maybe it's already been said, not been on for a few days, but for me this is a massive day for Palace. Not because of who they're playing, they'll have more winnable games, but because in the 2nd half against 10 man Forest it was obvious they desperately needed a central striker so if JSL doesn't work out then they are as good as down.

Big win for Palace in their derby game with Brighton, thought Strand Larsen played ok not £50 million ok, but if Palace stay up due to his signing they’ll have got their money back.

Really chuffed with that. Think we should be tough to beat this season. Bit more creativity with Wilson. You never know, Okafor might have got himself fit enough for 90 mins. No centre forward cover, which is a worry, but I'm optimistic for a comfortable season.

They had £116m burning a hole in their pocket and everyone knew it. That's the thing, it's great getting that money, but then you have to pay the wealth tax. I think it's an ok signing for them. Will suit them. Is he an upgrade on Chris Wood? Not sure.
Worth £50m? If the only time you ever saw Bamford was in his first season with us in the Prem, you would have said he would be about the same in today's money. I loved him, don't get me wrong, but my love isn't blind!

I don't think Farke will be the first sacking. Love or loathe out board they are not reactionary. There will be a club or twoexpected to do ok that underperform early on and one of those managers will be the scapegoat. Who's got the Brentford job? Tempted to put a quid on him.
