Schmidt also a candidate i'm hearing. Schmidt began his managerial journey in German regional football before gaining wider attention during his time at SC Paderborn. His breakthrough came at Red Bull Salzburg (2012–2014) , where he led the team to a dominant Austrian Bundesliga title while playing an exciting brand of pressing football. This success earned him a move to Bayer Leverkusen, where he managed from 2014 to 2017. At Leverkusen, Schmidt became known for his intense pressing system and dynamic attacking approach, which drew both praise and criticism for its risk-taking nature.
Following a stint in the Chinese Super League with Beijing Guoan, Schmidt returned to Europe to manage PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands. In 2022, he took over as head coach of Benfica in Portugal. At Benfica, Schmidt has enjoyed considerable success, including a Primeira Liga title in the 2022–23 season, restoring the club’s domestic dominance and building a competitive European side.
Schmidt is regarded as a modern tactician who helped popularise high-pressing football, and his teams are often praised for their energy, organisation, and attacking flair.
{Ed001's Note - Roger Schmidt would be an interesting choice, someone I have wanted to see in English footie for a long time.}

Kjetil Knutsen has emerged as the leading candidate to become the next Leeds United manager, with betting odds placing him at 2/ 1, indicating a 33.3% implied probability. Knutsen has garnered attention for his impressive tenure at Norwegian club Bodø/ Glimt, where he has been lauded for implementing a progressive and tactically astute approach to the game. His success in European competitions, particularly guiding Bodø/ Glimt to the Europa League semi-finals, has enhanced his reputation and made him a sought-after figure in managerial circles.
Following closely is Edin Terzić, the former Borussia Dortmund head coach, with odds of 4/ 1, reflecting a 20% implied probability. Terzić is recognised for his ability to develop young talent and his experience at a top-tier European club. His tenure at Dortmund showcased his capacity to manage high-pressure situations and nurture emerging players, qualities that align with Leeds United's emphasis on youth development and long-term growth.
Third is Dyche. Less said about that the better.
1.) 25 Apr 2025 10:51:38
Knutsen has been talked about in glowing terms for 3 seasons plus . done a fab job each season at Bodo Glint in Champions League etc and domestically
Terzic has an impressive resume record too.
2.) 25 Apr 2025 11:38:50
Farke is staying, or no?
3.) 25 Apr 2025 12:57:11
If the 9ers get their man then no. If they can't then they will stick.
4.) 25 Apr 2025 16:11:48
Supposed to be a manager with premiership experience yet Knutson and Schmidt are favorites, surprised no one has mentioned Carlo Ancelotti yet.
5.) 25 Apr 2025 17:44:08
Lol Alfie! "3rd is Dyche. "
The End.
???
Great, interesting posts.

quick one about Will Still as well while I'm at it: Still's coaching journey includes roles at Lierse, where he became the youngest head coach in Belgian professional football at age 24, and Beerschot, where he served as both assistant and head coach. In October 2022, he took over as interim manager of Stade de Reims in France's Ligue 1 and was later appointed permanently after an impressive 19-match unbeaten run. Despite not holding a UEFA Pro Licence at the time—resulting in the club paying fines for each match he managed—Still's tactical acumen and leadership were evident. In June 2024, he was appointed head coach of RC Lens on a three-year contract, continuing his rise in European football.
Known for his analytical approach and clear communication, Still represents a new generation of football managers who blend traditional coaching with modern analytical methods. His story is particularly inspiring for aspiring coaches, demonstrating that passion, dedication, and innovative thinking can pave the way to success, even without a conventional playing background. Still's journey from video game enthusiast to top-tier manager underscores the evolving nature of football coaching and the diverse pathways to leadership roles in the sport.

Very interesting Alf
Question : is it easier to attract an already employed candidate this summer rather than say during next season
The former?
2.) 25 Apr 2025 14:14:34
Post ain't vacant Baz.
3.) 25 Apr 2025 14:31:20
I would say this season. If we get relegated next year its a hard sell. Plus if rumours about a £150m war chest are accurate and a rebuild project that starts this summer including a stadium rebuild to be delivered by 2028 (and starting in the next 12 months) that is an attractive prospect to potential managers i would imagine. a manager being brought in for the next 2/ 3 years will want their own players as opposed to existing.
4.) 25 Apr 2025 15:02:36
Cheers Alfie another very good well considered post from you.
5.) 25 Apr 2025 17:48:15
Still's start kinda reminds me of Dillinger! Wonder if he got to make the real start he wanted!?

Message from Paraag:
Dear Leeds United supporters,
After a long season of hard work both on and off the pitch, we are returning to the Premier League!
To Daniel and the squad - thank you for your relentless pursuit of this achievement. You have been exemplary throughout the campaign and have rightly earned your place in Leeds United history. You represent everything it means to play for this club, and we are all incredibly proud.
To our amazing supporters - we would not be in this position without you. Thank you for bringing the passion and energy that carried us throughout the season. This is the first time in 35 years that we have achieved promotion in person in front of our supporters, so I hope you enjoy every moment celebrating with fellow fans, friends and loved ones.
The Premier League is where Leeds belongs, and our goal is to establish a long-term presence there. With that in mind, we have been quietly preparing the club for this moment. The road ahead won’t be easy but we are ready to step confidently into this next chapter.
Above all, this is your club and your promotion. I want to thank each and every one of you, along with the players and every member of staff at Elland Road and Thorp Arch, for your tireless commitment in pursuit of this unforgettable moment.
We still have a chance to finish this season with a trophy. Let’s show the squad we are behind them over the final two matches.
I look forward to rejoining the Premier League alongside all of you. Enjoy the celebrations - we’ve earned them!
Marching on Together.
{Ed025's Note - i love that Alf...thanks for sharing mate..
1.) 21 Apr 2025 21:44:14
A classy, and promising message. I'm confident we are in the right hands this time around. Now let's enjoy the last couple of games, and look forward to an interesting summer of activity!
{Ed025's Note - Amen to that Brighty..
2.) 21 Apr 2025 21:45:28
Alf, fantastic mate, thanks for sharing this with us ????.
3.) 21 Apr 2025 21:52:01
Personally not too fussed about a trophy. The one, and only, goal has been acheived. It is now time to let the fringe players show what they can do. To show if they deserve a place in the Prem or is it thank you and goodbye. We have to look now because, Prem kick off is too late and meaningless friendlies are just that, meaningless. Besides the position may be needed to bed in a new signing.
21 Apr 2025 19:34:11
Yeahhhhhhhhh! We've done it! Congratulations to Farke and the team. Brilliant stuff and the objective has been delivered. Next season will be tough but for now enjoy it and hopefully we will go on to be crowned champions again ???.
1.) 21 Apr 2025 19:51:49
I think mid to upper table next season 12-8 we have goid team and great manager.
2.) 21 Apr 2025 19:53:36
Very dusty day today…. keeps making my eyes water, magnificent achievement in the toughest league in the world!
All credit to Farkey and the team, whole squad such a tight group, let’s win it now, cannot let boring Burnley win the league.

Au contraire Daily Fail is the 9ers preferred mouthpiece.
24 Apr 2025 12:48:32
Yes a free.
24 Apr 2025 12:49:46
I think at least 60% of the fanbase would be open to a change of it was a decent manager.
23 Apr 2025 23:22:53
Could well return to Norwich.
26 Apr 2025 06:36:58
MG how dare you? Viz is a magazine - it has articles.
25 Apr 2025 14:35:15
very interesting if that's the case Ani.
25 Apr 2025 14:33:33
Mike Keegan is not a clickbait journo though. Plus he has an amazing relationship with the 49ers (he was in San Fran with them in January) and gets bona fide info from within the club. Would he risk that amazing relationship on complete clickbait rubbish that could destabilise the club? I think not.
