Heard from my mate Trev, who it should be pointed out supports that Devon lot. Trev drinks with Pete who owns the removal Company that moved Ben White from his Sussex home in Worthing to London.

Rather worryingly Ben Whites Dad assures Pete, through Trev back to me onto you guys (you see it’s solid) that KP assures Ben White he plans to rekindle their bromance at Arsenal.

Hey don’t shoot the four messengers just from Mr White senior.

Class: rather there than Devon lot, if or when he ever does leave! Anywhere but Salford!

2.) 15 Nov 2021 17:44:34
Don’t think KP would consider that lot Brighty he knows how that would be received I’m sure!

3.) 16 Nov 2021 07:56:45
Pretty much agree class, and he’s actually said “me family would never forgive me! ”!
Thankfully!

4.) 16 Nov 2021 07:57:21
We should have paid the 50 mil, Arsenal did after all we paid 30 mil for sad James . Rads should pull all the stops out to get him to sign.

16 Sep 2021 07:30:48
Wow! Reports that Leeds turned down a last minute transfer deadline bid for Rodrigo from Barcelona!

Reports Club declined due to the “scatter gun” nature of the bid.

Fair to say Rodrigo hasn’t worked as hoped due to a number of reasons and we may have missed out on an opportunity to recoup transfer funds for a player who would most likely have jumped for a return to Spain especially to Barcelona.

Classof92

1.) 16 Sep 2021 15:27:59
Saw some reports suggesting Barcelona wanted a loan deal - presumably because they’re strapped for cash at the moment. Other reports saying Bielsa wanted Rodrigo to stay here.

Either way, if it was last minute, we wouldn’t have had time to bring in a replacement, either at striker or CAM. So, despite his patchy form, accepting the deal would have weakened our squad depth further.

2.) 18 Sep 2021 07:19:19
Yes it was a loan offer by all accounts but would have left us even lighter in terms of our squad and maybe we would still have been paying a portion of his wages. Also some sources reporting at the time it was only semi serious.

31 Aug 2021 16:37:26
Confirmed at last, I’m delighted we have got James, think that will give lots of options for the CAM role.

Shame Costa move seems to have stalled, there is a player in there but truth be told we cannot rely on him, think James will be far more consistent under Bubs tutelage, happy!

Me too Class! Investment not to be sneered at, and clearly MB sees something special in the lad. Our counter attacks are going to be rapid!

2.) 31 Aug 2021 22:47:01
And he is just 21. Wales international. Played in the Champions league. Scum to be fair have great players at his position. And he got quite a lot of minutes in this squad.
Ole is a piece of s**t manager. Imagine he would be in charge of our team… we would get relegated last year.
Bielsa can make any average player look more than decent. And if he has a grain of talent (and he does) he can transform into a great player.
I’ve heard that some scum supporters are really gutted that he is going as they see his high potential.

3.) 01 Sep 2021 17:59:44
One of the things DJ said after signing was that he was looking forward to learning every day. That could be seen both as reflecting positively his expectations of the coaching environment he’s joining under Bielsa, and casting a little shade on the one he’s just left.

4.) 02 Sep 2021 11:07:04
You going away this year class?

5.) 06 Sep 2021 11:05:06
Hi Martyn, hope you’re well Pal.

Sold our place in Tenerife as red tape was becoming a nightmare, but off to Portugal in September then hopefully Tenerife in November to visit some old friends.

You got any visits planned Martyn?
Stage safe and well 👍.

6.) 07 Sep 2021 10:09:27
Arrived in las americas late Saturday, should have been in Antalya but still on red list, watching England and Leeds games including rhinos on Friday in buzz bar, small quiet friendly little bar with best breakfast I’ve found on the island, oh and it has a kebab shop next door too 😉.

7.) 07 Sep 2021 21:36:40

Don’t know the buzz bar from memory but there is a few of them in LA

Glad to hear they have all the essentials though, have a great time mate.

Crystal Palace’s Patrick van Aanholt, being linked to Leeds for free transfer to fill left back spot.

Like him as a player but he's 30 now would prefer a younger player but on a free we can't go wrong.

01 Feb 2021 19:42:28
See Connor Shaunessey and Jay Roy Grott are leaving Leeds but do not think it’s worth staying up tonight for any incomings, but just shows with the likes of Rodrigo and Raphina what a transformation Radz has overseen at Leeds.

Wish them both well with their new teams those days players seem ten years ago now.

Dilemma!

Dear banter page….

Have a ‘friend’ who the last time his wife arranged a meal out with her friends and their other half’s, my ‘friend’ got very, very, drunk due to the mighty Leeds winning live on tv, apparently, my ‘friend’ was beyond embarrassing and it’s taken many months for my ‘friends’ wife to try again with the same people.

Today my ‘friend’ has been offered a free hospitality ticket for Saturday’s game, albeit in a Brighton hospitality box.

However, given the time of kick off, my ‘friend’ feeling very positive for a Leeds win, AND it’s free beer, should my ‘friend’ go?

I know, I should be able to advise my ‘friend’ but I’m struggling for the right response?

Classof92

1.) 26 Nov 2021 17:36:35
Tell your Friend to go, enjoy the hospitality, and hopefully enjoy 3 points.

2.) 26 Nov 2021 19:10:09
Your friend should put this case to Martin Lewis. He has a moral dilemma every week on his Thursday night itv money show. This one should get top billing and a nation wide viewer vote. My advice is go cheer all our goals and gloat over our rare clean sheet.

3.) 26 Nov 2021 22:08:04
Your 'friend's hood definitely not look a gift horse in the mouth. His wife's friends sound super boring anyway if they can't even appreciate a Leeds win.

Ever the optimist that’s me, poor Tyler still only 22 but sadly think the PL may be a step too far, still time, but it’s a luxury we cannot afford just now.

Christmas has come early with an additional 9point deduction for Derby County, now on -3 points some 18points from safety.

The only way they can survive relegation is to reappoint Fat Frank at HIS Derby County, won’t really help but shhhhh.

Classof92

1.) 16 Nov 2021 10:46:36
Why more points?
I was enjoying watching them struggle the whole season only to be relegated.
Now they won’t even try.

2.) 16 Nov 2021 11:15:07
While I have no sympathy for the owners and management of that club, we have only recently emerged from the doom and despondency we all felt during the Ridsdale, Bates GFH and others tenures at Leeds.
It is always the fans and hard working staff trying to earn a living at these clubs who suffer, so no I won't be gloating, just as I didn't gloat at fans of Bury, Wigan, Macclesfield and far too many other clubs.

3.) 16 Nov 2021 11:26:59
Truly feel sorry for the fans, the fans that have paid out their hard earned money and who's been cheated by low lives like Mel Morris and his cronies. We been through it before, never nice but it's the fans that suffer. Maybe the EFL and FA need a good long look at themselves, they allowed cheats like Morris to thrive with their poor practices. Yes we can revel in Derbys misfortune given spygate etc, but sooner see the real culprits like Mel Morris and co punished.

4.) 16 Nov 2021 17:33:05
Mezzer, Bobby, I agree re Morris et al, but I feel no sympathy for the majority of their fans (obviously there will be a minority there who think in the same way as you, so I do feel for those) , but the others along with the rest of English Football savoured our demise, our direct competition voting to ensure we received the strongest punishments possible. I may sound a tad bitter, but karma can be a bitch.

5.) 16 Nov 2021 18:15:24
Where I am coming from too Brighty, when they won the playoff game at our place and were taunting us Leeds fans (spy gate)

Spoils of war?

Had they then had made the PL that season those very same fans would have taken dodgy Mel Morris all day long.

Bury very different scenario (decent people) but there’s just some teams (Villa, Blunts) …. well without such irrational dislike of certain clubs a lot of passion in football would be lost.

6.) 16 Nov 2021 19:45:22
hear hear Class and Brighty 120% spot on completely concur.

7.) 17 Nov 2021 09:34:55
Why only 19 points should have been more? Oh sorry it’s not Leeds utd.

8.) 17 Nov 2021 17:26:18
In big business, in every other industry but football, any Director guilty of such gross mismanagement, would have been struck of the Directors list, and prevented from taking such senior positions for either a set period, or permanently. Unfortunately Morris will get off Scott free in the same way that Ridsdale did, before going on to mismanage 2 more clubs. Utter disgrace.

13 Nov 2021 11:51:39
Anyone else feeling a tad nervous re the lack of expected return date for Bamford?

Rest is ok over a sustained period of time, unfortunately it’s often followed by the need of an operation when a player subsequently breaks down on their return.

Everything crossed that it is a successful return, but it’s a scenario that needs to be understood before closing of transfer window.

Classof92

1.) 13 Nov 2021 12:23:34
Would be feeling less nervous if Bielsa would play our second best centre forward which is clearly Gelhardt rather than trying to shoehorn an out of form winger into the CF slot.

2.) 13 Nov 2021 12:56:04
Yeah definitely. An ankle knock shouldn't take this long to heal.

10 Nov 2021 11:08:21
Have another theory, it’s rather scary actually as I like everyone else (probably) wishes our club had the sort of financial clout behind them as Citeh or indeed Newcastle.

It’s a reasonable hope, sort off if you can’t beat em join em, and if you want the best you got to pay top dollar, but then I read a peice from the old German footballer Uli Hoeness in his role as CEO of Bayern Munich

I mean they’ve done ok as a team on the world stage last few years haven’t they?

But they view revenue streams in a very different way, in particular how they view and value supporters.

With a SEASON TICKET STANDING - €145.00 most German fans prefer to stand however, more expensive options for seating, hospitality can go up to €750 plus.

Just for comparison you can get a standing season ticket for Bayern circa €11.00 a game for less than the one game admission price of watching the mighty Arsenal at home.

But it’s what Hoeness says on the matter with respect of how the club could easily raise season ticket prices from €145-€300 and raise an extra €2 million a year.

“But what is two million to us, our supporters on the other hand, the jump to €300 would be significant they are not cows to be continuously milked and that is what makes us different to the English”

Now, I get the proverbial horse has bolted in terms of the PL model, but it still made me think my own desires for similar wealth for Leeds as Newcastle or any of the so called Super Six etc was actually hastening the game forever, moving away from its real lifeblood, the fans.

All of em covet tv and shirts subscriptions in the Asia marketplace more than their own fan base, and I pray this never fully happens at Leeds.

Get that everyone knows this, but it just made me realise I’m NOW happier to settle for the Foreshaw fix, than an injection of some dubious money at any cost.

Waiver: The opinions above are solely the opinions of Class inc and in no way are intended to insinuate that other peoples view and opinions on this subject are in any way inferior or superior, after all it’s just a bit of fun, on an excellent banter site.

Classof92

1.) 10 Nov 2021 12:37:23
Class - guess most if not all of us on here would have similar hopes, and fears, about our Club’s future relationship with its established fan base as it seeks a pathway towards Prem security then European football.

Theoretically it should be possible to cultivate and maintain an excellent relationship with our fan base, while also increasing income from global, including Asian, markets. Indeed the more money the Club can gain from elsewhere, the greater the potential to freeze ticket prices (or even to reduce some of them) . You mentioned Bayern, and that Club has one of the very largest global followings, including in Asia.

Clearly Leeds’ ability to grow its revenue from non-match day sources would be contingent on achieving growing success on the pitch. It’s how that’s achieved which is the really tricky bit. And doubtless there’ll be a range of views on here as to how the Club should go about it.

2.) 10 Nov 2021 13:31:40
Class, sadly utopia doesn't exist and good morals alone don't keep you in the big time with the bigger cheques so business men are always chasing the lolly not the ideology.

3.) 10 Nov 2021 16:51:34
O e of the issues with English football is most if the clubs are owned by foreigners who don't care about the fans whatsoever - they are just in or gor their own egos and profits.

4.) 10 Nov 2021 17:56:14
Totally agree Chris, but maybe just maybe I want it all with Leeds in the best league that cares about its fan base and recognises the importance of the football pyramid hey I can dream and Bayern are demonstrating it’s a model that can work.

5.) 10 Nov 2021 21:36:38
Though, on reflection, Bayern don’t get it all right, as their fans, and others are unhappy about the Clubs sponsorship ties with Qatar Airways, and previously with Qatar’s Hamad International Airport - another sport washing controversy, though nowhere near the same level as Newcastle being owned by the Saudi state.

Nice to hear from you Whack, got to acknowledge your admirable patience on your part, given your recent run of results, been a long wait for you but here you are immediately after ONE very fortuitous win against Brighton who bossed your game, bar the last 10 mins.

But credit where it’s due you’ve managed (in accordance with your own wishes) to bin the despicable human Dean Smith, for what I actually think was a very astute signing in Gerrard.

That being said there’ll be little if anything between our two clubs come season end wherever that may be in the table we’re in the punching above our weight group.
