According to reports, Spurs want between £10-15m for Rodon. Given he's entering the last year of his contract, I think an opening bid of £8m would be my preference. I think he's worth more but let's test Levy's resolve with a low end bid. He's happy here and his contract situation means he (and we) may have some leverage to push a deal through.

Dillinger

{Ed002's Note - They will say no and his fee will rise.}

1.) 13 Feb 2024 12:21:43
Levy is well known to get the price he asks for sadly. The structure of the deal is possibly the only Leeway we will have, or a player plus cash deal, which none of us will want!

2.) 13 Feb 2024 12:30:32
Levy always a f*cker to deal with.

3.) 14 Feb 2024 12:55:07
Get promoted. Buy him.
Not promoted. No chance.
Great guy. Seems to love the club and players.
Fingers crossed.

Leeds apparently taking a shine to Flamengo CF Pedro (25 years old. 185cm)

Very impressive stats. He's scored 23 and assisted 9 in all comps this season. That's 32 goal involvements in 50 games. Impressive stuff. More impressive when you break down how much game time he's actually had in said games, as it works out at a goal involvement every 109 mins.

Appears to be your typical goal poacher in the box, scoring tap ins, reacting to loose balls, running channels for through balls and generally being a nuisance for defenders. He's also comfortable striking them from outside the box. Clinical. Close control is very good and he interlinks play well. He's the focal point of pretty much every attack. Can finish with both feet, too. Positionally aware, a physical presence, strong in the air and possesses a good turn of pace.

He appears to be your quintessential number 9 with most, if not all, of the attributes you'd like to see in one. Player I'd most liken him to would be a young Cavani. Very high praise.

There's talk of him heading to the world cup (already capped once in 2020) given his form, so this is one we may miss out on if we sit on our hands as the shop window will be well and truly open.

He had signed a pre-contract with Real Madrid back in 2019, but an ACL injury scuppered the deal, before he eventually moved to Fiorentina a year later. He would struggle for game time there making only 4 appearances. Now he appears to have grown exponentially as a player and would really add something special to our team should he come.

If we were willing to splash £35m on CDK, then this is a deal of similar value to me. Open the cheque book and get him signed before his valuation sky rockets.

Dillinger

1.) 08 Sep 2022 13:37:40
He sounds top notch but my only misgiving would be; if he is so good why not a starter for 11th placed Fiorentina. Surely they must see his exponential growth.
I hope you are right and he is a gem waiting to be found, we could do with another Raphina. Law of averages says that somewhere out there is some young lad, with it all, waiting to be discovered.

2.) 08 Sep 2022 14:20:51
He was still fairly inexperienced in general and no european experience back then. He's come on loads now. Plus they had Vlahovic and Chiesa back then.

Definitely appears ready for the pressure of a big league now.

3.) 08 Sep 2022 22:05:31
Isn't the window shut though?

4.) 09 Sep 2022 02:15:03
Yeah but pre contracts can be signed still.

Phil Hay hinting at a Cooper start on Monday against Forest.

"Liam Cooper was on the bench on Saturday.

"And having hinted beforehand that in his mind's eye, Cooper and Robin Koch were his ideal centre-back pairing, Marsch might find himself turning that way before Nottingham Forest tip up at Elland Road next Monday. ".

Leeds apparently taking a look at Coventy's Viktor Gyokeres (CF) .

He's someone I've touted a fair few times on this forum as being a great budget signing from the Championship.

He's someone I really think would compliment the team and would get better once with us. Bags of potential and very talented right now.

The lad is a Swedish international. He's a very strong and direct runner on the ball, has a knack for getting on the ball in the box, whether low or high crosses or reacting to loose balls. His interlinking play is an asset. He runs channels and breaks well and most of all he can finish.

I'd rather sign him over Hwang, considering the cost and potential upside. I see more potential in Gyokeres.

Dillinger

1.) 31 Aug 2022 17:28:08
Totally agree there Dilli, and I would get Gnoto too, just to make sure that any injury curse has a brick wall of strikers to get past!

2.) 31 Aug 2022 19:23:12
Apparently they want £9m for Gyokeres. definitely worth a punt. And yes, I'd take Gnoto too, but looking likely he'll come next summer on a free if we can sign a pre-contract.

3.) 01 Sep 2022 08:32:10
Having apparently missed out on Gakpo, let’s hope we can get a deal done for this guy before Southampton or anyone else snap him up.

121 goals scored between Ipswich and Plymouth.

Should be in with a chance today Plymouth, as plenty of opportunity to attack Ipswich with both teams playing quite open.

(Likely score ends up 0-0 ??)

Dillinger

1.) 02 Mar 2024 11:53:44
Praying for a Plymouth win.

14 Feb 2024 06:16:34
That's 3 away wins in the league in this run of games in 2024, Baz. Suddenly that away record win % is climbing to the same level as previously promoted teams over the last few seasons (currently 50%) . That's a good omen and hopefully it continues.

Dillinger

1.) 14 Feb 2024 08:03:50
It’s a great turn around, and vital, ain’t it!?
I’m going to stick my neck out again here; I think we face only 3 games where we could drop a point or two, and I don’t think we will lose again this season. (Foxes, Cats or Saints. )

2.) 14 Feb 2024 10:59:38
Yes Dill lurving the away wins in 2024.keep going.

13 Feb 2024 21:03:33
Outrageous tactics from Swansea that first half. No idea why they were playing so high ? caught them in transition almost every time.

Dillinger

1.) 13 Feb 2024 21:55:08
I know dillinger. I really don't think they thought it through.
We got past them so easily. And we put them to the sword. A couple of early goals killed the game.

2.) 13 Feb 2024 22:04:09
THANK YOU wide open Swansea tactics
THANK YOU Bristol City.

3.) 13 Feb 2024 22:18:22
Really enjoyed watching tonight. We look unbeatable when we play like that.

Saw this posted on insta (@leeds_c3ntral)

Bamford in 2024:

9 appearances
600 mins
5 goals
2 assists

A goal every 120 minutes
A goal involvement every 90 mins.

Love him or loathe him, he's doing the business for us this year.

Dillinger

1.) 11 Feb 2024 19:40:35
Leeds were gash lost 3 times in December .

Since Bamfordinho starting games beginning of January 2024

Leeds 100% win record
Played 8
Won 8

Bamfordinho undroppable.

2.) 11 Feb 2024 19:54:00
I should amend this as he's actually played 643 mins (after checking myself) .

Goal scored every 129 mins
Goal involvement every 92 mins

Not much difference m, but prefer to be accurate when talking stats.

3.) 11 Feb 2024 20:48:00
He's definitely elbowing his way to success. In post match interviews, he's very articulatio and cubical.

4.) 11 Feb 2024 21:09:37
Agree Baz. Undroppable at the minute.

5.) 11 Feb 2024 21:28:55
We need Patrick Handford more than we care to realise.
Good points Dill ????.

6.) 11 Feb 2024 23:12:10
As I've said before Bamford is a archetypal centre forward. He has the physicality to occupy defenders. He comes short and has enough pace to stretch the play going long. He always tries to hold on to the ball when it comes to him and brings others into the game. Yes he doesn't score as much as he should but he bring a lot more to every game. At this level there are not many that bring as many attributes to there game. Plus his intelligence and closing down is another attribute.

7.) 12 Feb 2024 07:12:16
Spot on Ben. BamFord is an excellent CF who would thrive in a traditional 442 with someone running directly off his shoulder. What he does as a sole target man, is second to none. If he stays fit, I can see him being recalled by England soon.

8.) 12 Feb 2024 07:56:53
Agree Ben and Bright. apart from the England call up. Kane, Watkins, Solanke, Wilson. Then you have forwards who can also play up top such as Bowen, Palmer, Gordon. He's very, very far away from that imo.

9.) 12 Feb 2024 08:50:23
I see your point Dilli. We do have a glut of forwards, as we did when Bam got his last call up. Depends what the gaffer wants. Imo Bam offers something a bit different to all of those mentioned, but I won’t be taking a bet on it! ???.

10.) 12 Feb 2024 09:09:24
What Dill said.

Bamfordinho doing well for Leeds, but Brighty getting a tad carried away with the Englanc suggestion.

11.) 12 Feb 2024 09:55:04
Think bright was jesting chaps.

12.) 12 Feb 2024 10:04:03
Brighty is today April 1st ?

Patrick : England :Recall ???

Best 1 I heard all week.

13.) 12 Feb 2024 10:53:03
England call up aside, Bamford is hitting a rich vien of form just when we need it. Four goals in six games is the form we need from him, could very well be that his contribution is the difference for us getting promoted.
That for me makes him in this moment in time indispensable. Fingers crossed he stays fit.

14.) 12 Feb 2024 14:15:39
What CC said. Brighty once claimed to me that Paddy is actually best suited to a no.10 role.

15.) 12 Feb 2024 16:42:35
A “classic” 10 role, yes. Playing directly off a 9. Old school style. And?

16.) 12 Feb 2024 17:37:15
Why reference a 1980s position when we're 4 decades hence?

17.) 12 Feb 2024 21:01:55
I get what your saying, Bright, and I agree. In a 442, Paddy definitely better suited being the 10 rather than the 9.

18.) 12 Feb 2024 21:15:49
Why resort to trying to undermine somat a poster put two years ago, not directly to you I must add, rather than post something constructive, or have you lost that ability now George? Always just snidey little jibes at others? ???.

19.) 13 Feb 2024 00:50:05
Was posted to me and posted 5 months ago.

20.) 13 Feb 2024 05:48:27
Here’s an idea George; Focus on the football and the club, not me. Everyone knows your dislike for me personally, and probably, like me, couldn’t give a flying eff at a rolling donut about it.
Try and move on eh, and quit the jibes, and goading attempts. I will continue to try and avoid your childlike posts and goading, and read the smart boy stuff.
Ps. I guess people on the street love your everyday use of English ; “‘tis 4 decades hence, ma’am! ” ???.

08 Feb 2024 09:57:10
Daniel Farke up for Manager of the Month. Whilst Dan James is contesting for Player of the Month.

Both well deserved imo, so hopefully they get rewarded.

Dillinger

1.) 08 Feb 2024 10:53:43
Given his win loss ratio they can only be one winner of motm.
Danny boy also should win but in a tougher fight prob.

2.) 08 Feb 2024 11:00:00
I doubt there can be any arguments over DF to be honest?
Tho, as I said a week or so ago, they will probably give it to the fella at Sipsvitch!

3.) 08 Feb 2024 22:12:07
And also Bamford up for player of the month I believe.

4.) 09 Feb 2024 05:51:54
I’m not responding to that Alf.
But in the famous words You can’t be serious ??.

5.) 09 Feb 2024 09:28:18
Yep Aus .
Bsmfordinho ia definitely up for POTM ( with DJ) . and very well deserved too!

4 goals including a worldie in month

The goal facts speak for themselves!

6.) 09 Feb 2024 10:09:51
That worldie was an mis controlled first touch lol. He had no idea where the goal was.

7.) 09 Feb 2024 17:19:25
Deservedly, and duly won by the gaffer!

We kick off later than everyone else too, so more rest for the lads that played ET last night. Plus, I would like to think the lads are professional enough to not let an international game that's totally independent from their club football impact their club match. Hope so anyway. DJ should realise he's in the form of his life at club level and that miss has no bearing on Friday.

Watford have lost 6 of last 9 games, conceded 13 goals and scored only 8.

Leeds have won 12 of 13, going unbeaten in that run and scoring 28 and conceding only 2 goals.

I'll go with our form instead of predicting something going completely against the form guide of both teams.

Leeds to win 2-0.
