LUFC ?? reportedly interested in acquiring Black Cats ?‍⬛?‍⬛ LB Dennis Cirkin.

Reportedly we're interested (again) in the acquisition of Lewis O'Brien from Florist once he returns from out on loan in the MLS.

GeorgeIntegrityWhitebread

1.) 01 Nov 2024 13:52:45
Not bad shout although didn’t he turn us down prev?

25 Oct 2024 02:46:31
Reportedly Bambi is a winter transfer loan target for EPL side Southampton ⚜⚜.

GeorgeIntegrityWhitebread

1.) 25 Oct 2024 06:31:28
Georgey this rumour sounds credible.

2.) 25 Oct 2024 13:22:18
Southampton are desperate and could do us a huge favor.

3.) 27 Oct 2024 23:26:06
Give them Piroe as a buy one get one free deal.

4.) 28 Oct 2024 18:47:11
No no MOTagain pal.

Piroe is our top scorer .

And

We have very few players in our team / squad who score goals.

5.) 29 Oct 2024 00:31:43
Piroe hasn't scored since he started since.
Six touches on the ball Vs Bristol
Runs and stops half way
No conviction
No plan
Indecisive near the box
Aims for the goalie not the goal
A kick as powerful as a mouses fart

Piroe is not the man. He has had a season and he still hasn't gelled with Leeds.
I don't doubt he has talent, he just doesn't fit in with us.

6.) 29 Oct 2024 11:07:42
He ain't good at most things granted but he is still our top scorer and most natural goalscorer by some distance . (impact sub might be best) .

and that is the most important thing of all

Get a definite upgrade in Jan fine .

but until then scoring goals may wwll be a challenge for this team/ squad esp without Rama and a real CAM made even worse with no topscorer JP.

7.) 29 Oct 2024 23:32:28
Baz, Piroe has done his best work as impact sub, scored his best and most important goals this season as an impact sub. When he starts he does little to nothing.

Why is he starting? It's bad for the club, the fans and for Piroe.

Agree on getting a finisher or two in January. The maddening part is, a half decent striker would double in value at Leeds, as he would be knocking them in for fun.

8.) 31 Oct 2024 05:49:07
Piroe has played his best football for us when he's A. Come off the bench in games we are already winning. B. Has then played at 10. C. Whilst Joseph was still still on the pitch playing at 9.

Pretty interesting when you see what kinda game state he performs in as opposed to him starting in a lone 9 role.

He's our best finisher and ball striker, but he's just not a good lone 9.

Per @AIILeedsArentWe (twitter)

"Piroe's last 6 games as a starter:

vs Bristol (70mins) :
0.01 xG
0.02 xA

vs Watford (72mins) :
0.37 xG
0.02 xA

vs Sheff Utd (89mins) :
0.01 xG
0.03 xA

vs Sunderland (77mins)
0.72 xG
0.06 xA

vs West Brom (64mins)
0.33 xG
0.00 xA

vs Boro (90mins)
0.23 xG
0.17 xA

Furthermore

Joseph is superior to Piroe in stats p90 for:
- Shot Accuracy
- Shots p90
- xA
- Pass Accuracy
- Successful Dribbles
- Successful Tackles
- Aerial Duels Won
and that’s maintained over 200+ minutes more played too. He gets the best out of others around him. "

As a team we perform much better when Piroe is not starting.

9.) 31 Oct 2024 08:11:59
A good post (as ever ) Dill.

One definitely could counter that Leeds best 2 performances were when Piroe also started

1) away Sunderland ( spoilt by Mes . Piroe very good)
2) home Sheff. U Piroe good

And our one defeat when MJ started vs Burnley

Bottom line though is that we need a better CF.

10.) 31 Oct 2024 09:48:06
ForbPiroe scoring doesn't always equal him having a good game. Don't get me wrong, he's done what we wanted by scoring, but he offers so little in our out of possession work and his in possession stuff isn't very good either. Puts a lot of pressure on us when there's not outlet or we can't press as effectively from the front. Nothing sticks. Heading duels he wins zero and barely applies much pressure in them. All little things which make the game harder for us.

Feel like when Piroe starts he generally has one of two games. He scores but does little else to help the team with his auxiliary play or he doesn't score and also doesn't help the team with his auxiliaries.

Right now he isn't scoring and he falls into the latter. There's no reason to start him if he's not scoring consistently.

11.) 31 Oct 2024 14:01:52
Yep I woukd probably start MJ over JP against Plymouth. but both players aren't top 2.Champo level . and that's a concerm.

19 Oct 2024 00:38:48
Joshua Guilavogui is reported as the free agent possibly set to join us. Former French international DM. Last played for Mainz.

GeorgeIntegrityWhitebread

1.) 27 Aug 2024 19:21:55
Mozel tov.

2.) 27 Aug 2024 20:54:36
Personally think he will prove to be a useful signing to say the least. He could be a very good impact player to have on board, and open up defences that have been set up to spoil. I know others aren’t, but I’m happy with this one.

3.) 27 Aug 2024 20:59:33
Really hope it works out, because when he's fit he's top notch.

4.) 28 Aug 2024 22:49:42
As Dil says the lad can be a massive player for us.
He’s literally a top half EPL player IF he stays fit.

GeorgeIntegrityWhitebread

Absolutely George. Hopefully a top performance tonight in his memory.

2.) 27 Nov 2024 11:20:03
Always in our hearts and minds. 11th minute tonight; the attending fans will remember. ❤️.

3.) 27 Nov 2024 22:19:16
It’s easy to eulogise on these platforms and also in person. But with Gary Speed it always seems genuine. A classy player but an even more classy guy. Never met the man but you just know somehow what kind of person he was.

4.) 28 Nov 2024 07:11:59
Cork I met him a couple of times along with the rest of our fabulous midfield Batts, Strach and Gary Mac. All great guys as well as top players.

25 Nov 2024 15:39:50
From Wednesday LUFC ?? have 10 league fixtures to play in just 38 days. That's a tough schedule. Hoping Farkey will utilize and rotate his squad which means seeing more of G, Crew and MJ.

GeorgeIntegrityWhitebread

1.) 25 Nov 2024 16:00:49
Agreed George
The good news is aside from in form very free scoring Boro its a reasonably favourable set of fixtures.

2.) 25 Nov 2024 16:25:34
Baz The top 7 is pretty much set for the season but there'll be some rearranging for sure. Boro are a massive threat with their goal scoring.

I'd like to see Mes dropped for Darlow for at least one game. By all accounts, Darlow has been improving.

From what I've been seeing, Firpo will come back in for Byram (who hasn't done much wrong) .

Midfield needs a reshuffle imo. Want to see G or Crew come in alongside Ao. Drop Baracus for Roth whom I believe can transition relatively quickly to a 10 from his natural 8.

DJ and Willy on wings. Rami waiting, will build up his minutes from bench.

Drop Piroe for Solomon who's my preferred no.9. Solomon seems to know where the goal is, more composed.

Rami, MJ, Piroe and Baracus from the bench frightening depth at this level. Situation improves again once Amps returns. All imo.

3.) 25 Nov 2024 17:23:48
Some good suggestions there Georgey .

4.) 25 Nov 2024 19:43:22
I’m hoping we don’t see Crew until last 6 games which hopefully would mean that promotion is locked up.

5.) 25 Nov 2024 21:19:59
Agree with Solomon as 9 Georgie. A good shout.

6.) 26 Nov 2024 06:26:32
Solomon is a winger, he might do an attacking midfield position but he’s no number 9.
I still think Piroe is the best we’ve got and has scored the most goals for us.
Is he good enough for the Premiership is another discussion.

7.) 26 Nov 2024 07:05:49
OP You could be right but also wrong. Both his goals were scored in central positions and were no control, no getting the ball out of his feet, first time strikes on the run. Hallmarks of a striker or perhaps in his case a false 9. What we've been crying out for.

8.) 26 Nov 2024 14:06:38
Anyone who has played football of an average or above level can score those, the same as some seasoned pros still miss them. They are not the hallmarks of a striker for the modern game. So very much more to it than that. Let’s utilise Manor where all experienced coaches have used him, and he prefers to play eh? . Experienced CBS would destroy him in the 9 role.

9.) 26 Nov 2024 17:17:21
And sorry, but having tap ins and the “false 9” role as justifications are entirely contradictory, and expose a serious lack of understanding or knowledge. A False 9 is the very last thing we need right now; if anything, we require the polar opposite!

10.) 26 Nov 2024 17:20:20
Do you mean in the same manner as your yet to be fulfilled assertion that Davis at Ipswich would be "rinsed" week in, week out in the EPL?

Yet, Ipswich aren't in the relegation zone and aren't even conceding 2 goals per game.

Imo Manor looks quite adept in front of goal, more so than on the wing.

11.) 26 Nov 2024 19:08:28
Indeed Georgey. Brighteth spouted a load of nonsense re Leif Davis. completely got it wrong.

12.) 26 Nov 2024 20:13:35
Like two old women……. that’s relevant to this discussion, and Leeds this season how exactly? And if that’s your only comeback to being “rinsed” yourselves over nonsense fairytale assertions, then everything is said, that needs to be said.

13.) 26 Nov 2024 20:34:40
George, Ipswich are in the relegation zone.

14.) 26 Nov 2024 21:11:36
Brock Not for long. ?.

15.) 26 Nov 2024 21:16:21
Based on what?

16.) 26 Nov 2024 21:30:27
?????????.

17.) 26 Nov 2024 21:35:22
Bright Not surprised at all by your unnecessary personal attack but what you wrote is nonsense. Here's why.

LUFC only has 2 CFs. Joseph and Bamford. Neither are in the current starting line up.

Reason for Joseph? Probably to do with his below average conversion rate. His hold up play I like a lot though.

Reason for Bamford? Let's not even go there.

Piroe is not a CF.

Therefore we are in a "makeshift" predicament. We did not buy a CF in the summer (probably due to financial fair play) so we don't actually have one in the starting 11 right now.

Can we buy the appropriate CF quality in January? Doubtful. Difficult window to do business in, clubs don't often sell or loan their better strikers at that time plus I doubt we have the funds.

All of these issues encapsulated by Farke's phrase in preseason "sins of the past".

We are therefore in a "makeshift" predicament in the present, created from the past and for the near future.

I therefore have every right (as other posters have) to wonder whom could play that role from what we have available. My choice hardly controversial in the overall circumstances. He's part of the forward line.

Talking of which, Wilder recently remarked that when facing Leeds whilst we were attacking they had to guard against our "front 6". Therefore, the game has changed somewhat from an old-fashioned battering ram type CF. This is demonstrable from the more frequent deployment of a 4-2-3-1 and related formations across the game. I'd certainly love us to get an excellent CF but the reality is we don't have one and probably won't get one anytime soon hence why we seem to be focusing on the acquisition of a very capable 10 (with the boy from Manchester City linked) .

Accordingly, my Manor suggestion is made with a background of these particular "makeshift" circumstances and therefore probably doesn't require your scathing criticism imo.

18.) 26 Nov 2024 21:40:42
Brock Their team, especially Delap whom I rate and their manager. I don't expect them to go down. Have been posting this for awhile.

19.) 26 Nov 2024 21:58:38
Very well said Georgey ???.

20.) 27 Nov 2024 20:54:12
So George, despite being factually incorrect (Ipswich are in the relegation zone) it doesn’t matter because you don’t think they should be?

Explains a lot of posts.

21.) 28 Nov 2024 00:35:15
Brockley You've never made an error. You're perfect.

It explains nothing by the way I can assure you. Take my word for it.

22.) 28 Nov 2024 06:58:59
I make errors. When I do I own up to them, I don’t pretend that it’s not an error because I think it shouldn’t be.

I left the school playground a very long time ago, sadly some people seem to have never left.

24 Nov 2024 17:08:03
Result never in doubt lol ?. ??.

GeorgeIntegrityWhitebread

1.) 24 Nov 2024 17:27:16
⚽⚽???????.

2.) 24 Nov 2024 17:53:31
Well done MS easily his best LUFC match performance with 2 goals finally

DJ 3 assists goal involvements man of match for me
MS close in 2nd.

3.) 24 Nov 2024 18:05:09
James wasted a good few chances.

4.) 24 Nov 2024 18:25:26
He did Corkster . but he was a BIG reason Leeds won.

5.) 24 Nov 2024 18:40:01
Baz Solly seemed to appear more centrally today and on a few occasions had back to goal during a move. Don't mind him playing as striker if he's going to finish like that.

Furthermore, Baracus largely anonymous. I'd like to see some team realignment to reincorporate Amps upon his return and push Roth further forward instead of Baracus.

6.) 24 Nov 2024 18:58:53
Your correct Bazza.
That’s one of his good points, head never goes down after missing and he keeps pushing on.
Would he be in my starting eleven? Tough one but probably not. Great to have FOUR top top wide players to call upon in this league though.

7.) 24 Nov 2024 19:01:11
Yes George

MS was much more central and in box far more this match : and therefore hey presto he scores 2 goals ⚽️⚽️

Keep it up!

8.) 24 Nov 2024 19:23:20
You lambasted Solomon and repeatedly stated that it was a big mistake to sign him on loan, Baz.
Absolutely nothing to do with where he was playing.
Stop your bullcrap.

9.) 24 Nov 2024 20:05:02
On the contrary OP his positioning today made a big difference to Leeds ; goals and winning

MS performance today reminded me a tad of ( 42 goals contributions in 2 seasons) Pablo Hernandez

So far MS has 2 goals and 1 assist and Leeds have played 16 matches.

Its finally a goal contribution from him . but steady on OP one match et al ?.

10.) 24 Nov 2024 20:46:54
Baz wring… never he will claim he always backed him.

11.) 24 Nov 2024 23:26:52
Baz you are so full of ?. It's more to do with getting back to fitness than positions as I told you when you were slagging Solomon off after he played half a dozen minutes coming back from injury. You should be a politician.

12.) 25 Nov 2024 00:26:22
reliability and fitness hugely important Cuppa yes

so far he has had one good match .16 matches into season

Baz The Don.

13.) 25 Nov 2024 05:14:30
OP and Cuppa Regardless of your excessive unwarranted Baz criticism, you can't deny Manor played more centrally yesterday as Piroe drifted around aimlessly. Manor up to fitness now and imo can play striker.

14.) 25 Nov 2024 10:34:35
Georgey : OP and Cuppa have their transparent agendas ; always.

15 Nov 2024 21:45:39
Bright must be delighted with the away win and Kraev goal midway through the first half.

GeorgeIntegrityWhitebread

1.) 15 Nov 2024 22:10:50
. albeit against the Luxembourg minnow.

2.) 16 Nov 2024 07:04:16
Why would that be, George, exactly? ??‍♂️.

3.) 16 Nov 2024 08:45:22
Bright . when I was living and working in Japan for several years I certainly developed an affinity for the country . it became my second country to an extent . including supporting the Japanese national team in baseball and in other sports .

I think George is suggesting that you may have some sort of affinity with the country Bulgaria in which you are a citizen of and have been residing for many years.

4.) 16 Nov 2024 08:48:24
You desire for your home ? of residence to fair badly in sporting competition? Surely a win for ?? makes you buoyant a tad?

5.) 16 Nov 2024 09:10:03
Well said Georgey . logical and reasonable as ever.

6.) 16 Nov 2024 17:14:31
From George to me? Nah. Never done before, and he isn’t going to start now, especially after labelling me a Bulgarian boot licker. I only ever really watch Leeds, as I have said before.

7.) 17 Nov 2024 06:40:06
You big softee baz. I’m with bright.

8.) 17 Nov 2024 11:47:55
Err really Aus?

You were born in England, lived in England for the for first 30 years

And then Aus you openly regularly have stated on thiz forum that you support your second country Australia the one you since reside in and became its citizen in :

- Australian Womens football
- Perth Scorchers in cricket
- Australia men and womens cricket

. and in mens football you support England and of course Super Leeds United.

9.) 17 Nov 2024 12:42:08
And looks like nope Porgie. Again again again. Zzzz
Wrong.

10.) 17 Nov 2024 16:47:00
???????.

12 Nov 2024 20:11:01
Mervyn Day
Danny Mills
Willie Bell
David Batty
Norman Hunter
Paul Hart
Carlton Palmer
Lewis Cook
Gary Speed
Michael Bridges
Chris Wood

Subs
Billy Down (GK)
Grenville Hair
Jim Baker
George Reed
Tommy Burden
Eddie Gray
Frank Gray
Archie Gray
Harry Gray

Manager
Dick Ray

Quiz question. What is the only basis of selection for this Leeds United team ???

GeorgeIntegrityWhitebread

1.) 12 Nov 2024 22:46:50
Good question Georgey .

I thought initially might bd something to do with injury. all having a certain type of injury/ . missing large amount of games ( a season ) .

All the Gray players, Bridges, Batts Lewis Cook .

But don't recaĺl big Norman Hunter missing many matches.

Complete guess . they have all played at least one match at LB .

2.) 12 Nov 2024 23:12:18
Baz Is the incorrect answer.

Not for the first time (and probably not the last) was being ever so slightly facetious with the inclusion of the Gray contingent. Nevertheless, the Grays do fit in with the pattern.

To counterbalance my slight facetiousness, let's top off the squad to a 26 man list and still fitting the pattern of course:

Michael Brown
Jayden Bogle
Paul Green
Paul Butler
Liam Cooper
David White

First person to post the correct answer gets a prize ?. Alf will make you a cup of herbal tea ? and supply some biscuits.

3.) 13 Nov 2024 00:44:00
Baz To cap off the pattern, the squad shall receive a visit from Stevie Stone.

No more clues. Just solve.

4.) 13 Nov 2024 02:17:25
Noun.

5.) 13 Nov 2024 02:35:13
A very diverse group of players there George .

Its a 500/ 1 long shot but I am tempted to go for every player has been a captain at. some point in their career ( mainly with other clubs)

Or . they have all scored hattricks vs pony Millwall . even Mervyn Day.

6.) 13 Nov 2024 02:41:11
* u18 level captaincy re Archie and Harry Gray .

7.) 13 Nov 2024 03:23:50
Baz Stick the kettle on. Aus is virtually there with the correct answer so wins.

Each surname of the current and former LUFC players mentioned are in our beloved English language and dictionary. They're all legitimate words.

Well done Aus. ???.

8.) 13 Nov 2024 04:40:08
Okey dokey Georgey ; well done Aus.

9.) 13 Nov 2024 04:52:40
What’s my prize? No posts from you or Baz for a week? ?.

10.) 13 Nov 2024 07:53:50
Your prize Aus?

. a no expense spared by Georgey long weekend back home for you in sunny beautiful Blighty . Southend on Sea or Clackton?

11.) 13 Nov 2024 08:35:14
Well done Aus:)

12.) 13 Nov 2024 12:23:41
Canvey island baz. Home of Dr feel good ??.

13.) 13 Nov 2024 14:21:03
Yep Canvey Island good Aus.

14.) 13 Nov 2024 16:50:14
What a prize aus better than a lotto win.

15.) 13 Nov 2024 18:01:52
the kettle is on and a nice cup of Yorkshire Tea is winging its way to Australia - well done Aus.

16.) 13 Nov 2024 19:24:18
Yep Berms . Canvey Island pretty. sure nicer than Bermondsey.

Baz Rodon, Struick, Wober, DJ and possibly Gnonto. However, all of those would be regarded as bottom 6 class in the EPL. We'd need to buy 8 EPL standard players to avert relegation imo.

Woody Let me make perfectly clear why I criticize Farke.

He has many strengths and I don't especially care for his style of play but I understand his philosophy and it's excellent when we do get beat it's only by a goal and not what we witnessed in the EPL. However, the following is what grates:

1. Insufficient rotation. Yes fixture congestion so why not rotate because you can see it coming? It's called a calendar and basic math.

2. Knowledge in advance of the usual suspects setting up with a low block. So why not cater to that, introduce variation and flexibility tactically and not lose the game one nil?

3. His overall intransigence.

Cure or even just somewhat mitigate these issues and my misgivings about him evaporate.

Oh and drop Baracus and Bambi. They're stagnating us.

Oh and finally as for my support of Baz, it's because he tells the truth. Every now and again, we disagree slightly but I'd say he's right 95% of the time.

Tell me I'm wrong with the issues identified? I want my LUFC ?? manager to be perfect. High bar perhaps unrealistic but not rotating enough in a fixture pile up cardinal sin imo. Crew is a decent player for instance.

This is where I differ. He deserves a crack at the EPL if he achieves promotion notwithstanding the likely outcome that we spend much of the time in the relegation zone.

All I ask is we build a squad which is capable of an immediate return and commence the stadium ?️ expansion.

Imo you always should do what's right and that is to give him a chance assuming we get there.
