Third bid rejected by Newcastle for Longstaff and Wet Sham lose Kudos, Wet Sham looking weaker by the day and their fans should be worried ? Burnley, Wet Sham and Wolves for the drop! ??.
1.) 09 Jul 2025 19:07:27
When we signed Nmecha out of the blue on a free, Bijol at a lower fee than expected and Bornau for a relatively small fee things looked fairly good. Ok, Gudmonson came for £10m but that wasn't to be unexpected for an established FB.
Sunderland, however, have made the decision to splash the cash and have already spent over £100m. It might turn out to be a waste of money but their view is you go in for the player you want, pay the fee with limited haggling and work on the basis that staying up will make it worth it financially.
We seem to be in a Trumpian situation that we want the deal more than the result. There can't be much between selling club's valuations and our offers. If we want the player maybe we should just pay the difference, get them signed and move on to the next one.
There were rumours that we had £120m plus to spend. To date we've spent 25%. Hopefully the remaining £90m are going to be spent fairly soon on the right players in the right positions.
2.) 09 Jul 2025 21:05:42
The problem I can see dunes is loads of teams starting to mess Leeds about now I don’t know who s in charge of transfers but we are getting a right pasting at the moment, 1 one longstaff first of all was between 8/ 10 million now Leeds third offer is 10 million with 2 million add ons turned down again he’s not even with that Leeds got to walk away 2 nd Everton have had Harrison for 2 seasons on loan and the cheek of it now is they ll take him again but on a free yet Leeds paid 25/ 26 million for him 3 rd we got gasped by a small Sunderland team for 2 players that only Leeds were linked with come on its starting to be a bit tedious now like you ve said done well so far let’s not spoil it now pull out of longstaff deal or we ll be paying well over the odds get stach in if you want him buy him if they re saying 20 million you can’t offer 8 million no wonder teams are walking away from Leeds come on guys sort yourselves out.
3.) 09 Jul 2025 21:52:42
So far Leeds are trying to get players on the cheap.
Instead of getting players who they should they are focusing on players near the end of their contract to wrangle a deal and even that’s not working!
I’m getting seriously worried now.
4.) 09 Jul 2025 22:40:50
Same as me corkey, they have some kind of structure and will not pay over but how you going to stay in the premiership with that can’t be done I know we ten times bigger than Sunderland but they doing alright like we ve fancied stach for ages now but they report loads of teams in now they won’t take anything lower than20 million well in the first place his price was 13/ 17 million and also with longstaff Leeds have had 3 bids turned down last 1 being 12 million but he was supposed to be worth 8/ 10 Leeds must walk away from that he s not even worth that money and like I ve already said his he better than we ve got sorry but no I don’t know seriously what are we doing pre season started Monday just gone we got some friendly s coming up must be able to get players in to see were we are.
5.) 10 Jul 2025 08:00:51
It has been alluded part of our strategy are players at end of contract as corkey says. Smart or tight is the question. Or both.
6.) 10 Jul 2025 08:00:58
JH - re your point on Stach’s asking price. If indeed it has actually gone up, I don’t think Sunderland paying top dollar for Diarra and Sidiki will have helped, with selling clubs probably now even more likely to quote inflated prices to Prem teams, even newly promoted ones - there was already a perception that the high broadcasting deals over here made Prem teams fair game.
7.) 10 Jul 2025 10:02:55
Very good point Cluey!
8.) 10 Jul 2025 13:40:51
Yes alright there I totally agree but Leeds cannot get carried away and pay fortunes over the top, it’s like with longstaff, Newcastle wanted between 8/ 10 I heard that’s about fair but now upped their price price to 15 million, Leeds must walk away he didn’t play hardly any football last year, couldn’t get in team and is he better than we ve got amps or tanaka I doubt it pull out now there’s got to be better out there for 15 million, this is why we just must believe in the Leeds utd hierarchy.
9.) 10 Jul 2025 21:25:12
He’s literally a nobody! No idea get him back in the academy and employ someone with decent contacts decent knowledge and an understanding of how to close a deal…. If we sign anyone of worth I will revoke my comment.
21 Apr 2025 19:30:19
We are promoted to the promised land ???? long live king Daniel the Farke, hail our true leader and all his troops behind him!
Fabulous feeling absolutely amazing ?.
11 Apr 2025 15:52:45
What a load of in Whitemans words ‘Malarky’ it’s got nothing to do with them it’s a misdemeanour so wind your neck in EFL and the journo’s bloody idiots, what is illegal is fraud which is what the linesman and ref from Tuesdays match should be charged with, impersonating an official ??.
1.) 15 Apr 2025 09:50:43
Come back Whitey pal. We miss your malarkey.
11 Apr 2025 15:50:07
All rumours are going around about this illegal gambling done by some foreign players and our very own Junior Firpo! Well, first of all it’s not on football it’s a poker site, and yes it’s illegal but it only comes with a €250 fine, that’s it! Now because the FA and other football authorities want a bite it’s now being said that it’s a suspendible offence.
1.) 11 Apr 2025 18:47:26
Now why does that not surprise me.
2.) 11 Apr 2025 19:46:44
Leeds will be docked 10 points.
18 Dec 2024 19:09:11
Leeds United to finally sell Illan Meslier in January?
Despite his woeful form in between the sticks, having the eighth-worst save percentage in the Championship this season, he continues to be linked with a move away.
Now, according to Steve Kay [via TBR Football], Arsenal are weighing up a move for the Frenchman ahead of the January window and are “keeping an eye on” the player.
Stade Rennais are also understood to be interested in the 24-year-old shot-stopper [Jeunesfooteux] and if Leeds are serious about securing promotion, this is a position which needs to be addressed this term.
It’s not just Baz, George, Aus and a few others on here that think Meslier is a liability, it’s becoming national news and in all fairness the trio above have been saying it long enough and while I’ve been in denial for all this time about Meslier and standing in his corner I really have to agree with the lads on this one.
It’s time he went because it’s only a matter of time before he drops another bollock! ?♂️?.
1.) 18 Dec 2024 20:26:17
And in the meantime Mes needs dropping.
2.) 18 Dec 2024 20:26:46
Farke OUT if he picks Mes.
3.) 20 Dec 2024 09:43:48
But you gave him until the end of the season Baz? Moving your own goal posts again?
4.) 20 Dec 2024 11:08:51
Bright
Yes but the Preston game was tipping point for me . along with previous games of dropped points due to Mes
Farke now needs ousting if he intends to stubbornly and foolishly stick with gash Mes.
5.) 20 Dec 2024 17:36:16
Yes…. but…….
6.) 20 Dec 2024 18:15:37
Yes but. what?
Sounds like a Farkey touchline coaching instruction.
7.) 26 Dec 2024 09:25:42
Baz stick with Mess, new keeper now will not be any batter.

To be fair lads there are a few teams that haven’t signed anyone yet and Leeds have signed 4 very good players, 2 of them bench warmers, some say! We have to get the balance right and that includes budget, if we bought 3 players at £35M to £40M then that’s your budget gone, so we have to look at good solid bargains as well as top signings.
Just remember Tanaka, Bogle, both under £5M then Ampadu £7M so the 49ers do know what they are doing, I mean they are a lot richer than us and have many successful businesses so rest assured they will do right and get us the players we need.
I don’t think there is any club that goes for a player and gets everyone they go for, things happen, look at DJ, he was in a Leeds shirt then signed for Man Utd because Swansea wanted more! Nothing is guaranteed lads, try stay positive, we are Leeds and yes we do things the hard way and that includes transfers. I really don’t think we have to throw the towel in yet regarding transfers, like I say some teams have done nothing yet. ? ??.
09 Jul 2025 15:18:10
Here we go, same old same old…… first 3 games in August are live on Sly Sports! 5:30pm away in London at Arsenal is bloody stupid, no thought for the away supporters as usual. 5:30pm Newcastle at home is ok though but I miss the Saturday 3pm religious kick offs.
1.) 09 Jul 2025 17:23:19
LUFC, a big draw which ever league we are in.
2.) 09 Jul 2025 17:35:28
I know it can be annoying but also a sign of how popular we are! Need to get used to it if we want to continue the upward trend!
3.) 09 Jul 2025 18:04:45
Damn, words out how good we are ?.
4.) 09 Jul 2025 18:05:44
Please don’t get me wrong lads, it’s great to be at the Emirates instead of the shithole that is the den, or Loftus Road, and many others, it’s just the complete lack of empathy for the away supporter, not just Leeds supporters but all of them, they put money above all else! It’s just a Sky gripe lads, they must enjoy the continuous chant of “**** Sky Tv, **** Sky Tv” eh! lol ?.
5.) 09 Jul 2025 18:28:16
Sorry Ed, I didn’t even realise my swear spelling there ?.
6.) 09 Jul 2025 23:11:44
5:30 Toon not so great for Toon supporters. Sky don't give a flying fluck about fans.
08 Jul 2025 14:13:14
41 days to kick off lads, can’t wait and things are looking up on the transfer front with Gudmonsson imminent and Sean Longstaff next with Anton Stach looking positive as well, it’s all looking more promising and we just need a solid £30M plus striker and a good solid keeper who has height and strengths in all the departments that Messlier doesn’t! We have lots of height which is great, lots of ball playing individuals and they all seem to be in the same age category and it looks like we are actually buying with the future in mind. We just need that couple of mega signings and happy days eh.
I noticed that on the AI predictions we are laid out to finish 15th with Sunderland, Burnley and Wolves going down.
Me myself I think that Wet Sham, Wolves, Sunderland, Burnley and Brentford will be all in the relegation fight, I just hope we are not!
MOT ??.
1.) 08 Jul 2025 14:40:36
Agree about relegation battle between about 8 teams woodster. However. Think with what we have spent so far. I’d say room for 40 on striker. 20 each on gk and am.
2.) 08 Jul 2025 15:16:37
Muniz is still the striker we want and will probably take the most from our budget for a single player.
3.) 08 Jul 2025 16:10:03
Totally agree gents, but we also have Geldard, Joseph, Meslier, Greenwood, BA, Bamford and Gruev to sell so that will bring quite a chunk in, so maybe just maybe two statement signings could arrive at Elland Road, it would be so good to see us spend big on a good striker and please please ? not Calvert-Lewin, Sergeant or Beto from Everton! I’m ok with Wilson coming in for Bamford as back up but please non of those three! ALAW ??.
4.) 08 Jul 2025 16:19:05
Hi guys I’m new on here so take your time with me know how Leeds fans can be but Woodster, what’s good about filling the team with all defensive guys we ve got to get over half way line to attack, I don’t mind bringing in new players if they re better than we got but longstaff, about on par with amps no better than tanaka, you ve got to have a little bit of balance in it and ballers somebody to get us going up the pitch, at the moment it looks like we keeping money in our pocket and get some loans in Calvert Lewin, Callum Wilson, why don’t we just extend byram contract give him another 2 years and put him upfront come on aim high we leeds.
5.) 08 Jul 2025 16:40:21
I am not too sure about West Ham but as I’ve said before Alf seems to know his shiz and if he says wet Spam are in trouble then I believe him and is the sole reason I’ve back them for relegation at the bookies. It’s all on your ALF!
6.) 08 Jul 2025 16:48:35
Let's get all that deadwood unloaded now. Yes Woody, I would take Wilson, a bit injury prone but plenty of PL experience.
7.) 08 Jul 2025 17:54:16
Agree with all your relegation candidates Woody. Although I would just like to add Man U to that list - please:) ) ) )
8.) 08 Jul 2025 18:13:42
@JH1965;
Longstaff will prove to be the best value piece of business we do this window, IMHO.
It took Tonali coming back in at Newcastle to sideline him at SJP.
Not the flashiest player on the pitch, but he has a great engine, likes a tackle, can pick a pass AND weighs in with a few goals.
For £12 million-ish, I reckon he's a brilliant signing for us!
MOT.
9.) 08 Jul 2025 18:22:27
@Cleggy;
Would we take 17th if it meant finishing above Man U.?
Of course we bloody would!
MOT.
10.) 08 Jul 2025 20:54:12
I agree re Langstaff Ady! Great value at 12m if we get him!
I've also heard that Muniz is our favoured ST option, and think he would be a great addition to mix it up at the front, but if Sargeant is available at good money, he would also be an astute backup signing.
Another area of agreement with a few others is the dead wood;it's overdue that they're finally cut loose, whatever it takes!
11.) 08 Jul 2025 21:33:00
Well bright white I don’t think longstaff is good value I think that’s 12 million down the river we ve already got that player in amps, and I totally can’t agree with you about sergeant as we got better in piroe, so can you tell me you could see sergeant doing well in premiership that’s a no no in the 2 games against us last season did nt get a kick yet you think be alright in premiership no way that’s poor got to have someone with a bit of composure a bit of class someone who can strike the ball be confident with penalties, we must also bring in new wing to replace Solomon, someone really good then perhaps Callum Wilson, or somone that good on a free spend that big money on them boys.
12.) 09 Jul 2025 11:18:09
Probs because Naarwich hardly had the ball to feed him John! And I think i was clear enough in saying that he would be suitable as "back up". He is well rated as a finisher, but also as someone who wears out defenders, and gives as good as he gets. You disagree, and I have no issues at all with that.
23 Jun 2025 17:20:09
Hello all, I must say this banter site is without doubt so so much better with no angst or sulking point scoring, I love it and I can’t wait to kick on and get this season under way.
Until then we will just have to sit back, talk to the wife now and again and take the dogs out, hopefully for long enough so that we don’t have to talk to the wife again that evening! lol ?
Great first 2 signings, the Biljol one is a really astute signing. I’m getting really good feelings from all the players we are being linked with, maybe we will get some of the big names, but just for once it’s great to be linked and it’s great to be aggressive, I’m loving the excitement to who’s joining us. I think we are in for a good season and one we will survive comfortably. The owners are not messing around they want the Premiership badly and they want to stay there, I’m chuffed to bits to have them behind in the boardroom.
It’s all positive and all very positive on here, well done lads, every one on this forum is a credit to it and the Ed’s play a big big part in that, can’t wait to get going ❤️??.
{Ed007's Note - ????
1.) 23 Jun 2025 18:25:48
Well said woodster?.
2.) 23 Jun 2025 20:12:02
I have truly missed the optimism and totally agree Woody.
3.) 23 Jun 2025 23:57:01
Glad to hear from you woody and agree 100%.
4.) 24 Jun 2025 06:12:23
Give it a rest Woody, wait till the season starts ill soon change that. ?.
5.) 24 Jun 2025 08:50:33
>10 minutes in to the first game.
"We aren't winning 10-0?!?!? FARKE OUT! "
Well said, Woody. It is exciting times at the moment and we are lucky with our boardroom. They seem to genuinely care about making money by caring about the club. They know what they have to do and say, and who to buy, to win over the supporters; which is the make or break at clubs like Leeds.
Everything they have done, they've done for the club, the team and the fans.
Big up the 49'ers! I can't wait to see us lift the trophy this season.
6.) 24 Jun 2025 09:31:12
Let’s not jump the gun here.
I think Farke deserves at least four games. If we haven’t minimum 5 points first four games I will be disappointed. I home banker. 2 possible draws as well.
So far the signings to me have been shrewd and a lot of planning has been done.
But there are probably about 6-7 other teams whose sole goal next season is to avoid relegation. We are not alone.
7.) 24 Jun 2025 13:38:26
Woody!
18 Jun 2025 15:15:38
Hello fellas, how are you all? I hope you are all fabulous and enjoying this completely new banter site without the gripe meister! Thank you all for your messages and kind thoughts, it’s like having a family in my phone, I absolutely love you all for all the kind words you have sent. I lost my lovey mum on 28th April which was my birthday, she passed 3 mins before I was born 58 years ago, she was my best friend and I adored her, so weeks later I’m still struggling but I have been reading posts to cheer me up and the site is amazingly optimistic while edging caution with your posts, it’s going to be a difficult one but and achievable one with good solid signings. Big thanks to Class, Brightwhite, Cleggy, Bermo, Alf, MG, you are all amazing ? oh and one last thing, watch out Ed25 we are coming for you! lol ? hope you are ok Ed, thanks lads ?????.
{Ed025's Note - im good thanks Woody and thinking of you and the family mate..
1.) 18 Jun 2025 16:11:44
Fantastic to hear from you Woody, made my day we certainly are one dysfunctional family and we’re still awaiting clarification on Aus.
Cannot imagine how tough it was to lose your mum on your birthday but I hope overtime this becomes a celebration of both your lives, lost my mum at 17 and she’s still the biggest single positive influence on my life.
Take your time Woody it will still be here whenever you need it ???.
2.) 18 Jun 2025 16:23:48
Welcome back Woody! Sorry to hear about your Mum. Hopefully in time your birthday will become easier as you remember the good times.
3.) 18 Jun 2025 16:32:10
Welcome back you always bring joy and common sense to this forum.

Sorry to hear about your mum Woody, my best regards mate.
Really glad you’re back.
11.) 18 Jun 2025 17:06:08
Bless you Oldbri, what a lovely thing to say mate, and thank you LUFC for your kind words too. Always a pleasure hearing from you Ed25 and thank you ? Class it’s situations like you losing your mum at 17 that makes me grateful and humble at having been able to spend 58 years with my mum, and I can tell by your words you are a genuinely top bloke, thank you mate ?
I feel privileged and blessed to have had her and dad in my life and to be honest if someone said you could have your life again I would only say yes, if I could have the same parents, I was very lucky to have them both to guide me and love me.
Thank you so so much ?.
12.) 18 Jun 2025 21:05:12
Well, all I can do is echo the sentiments already shared, and openly state than when I face similarly difficult circumstances I will unashamedly be a complete blubbering cabbage. Irreplaceable that parents are in most cases, I wholeheartedly empathise with those who have already suffered such awful heartache. Stay strong fellas.
13.) 18 Jun 2025 22:20:28
my thoughts with u woody, very tough times.
My mum passed away last sep in leeds while i live in Australia, tough being so far away but got home to say my goodbyes.
Hope things get easier and the new season will help.
MOT.
14.) 19 Jun 2025 00:21:17
Sorry to hear about your mum wooodster.
I’m 63 and still have both my parents so I too have been lucky. Although my mum has began the slippery slope into dementia. Bless.
15.) 19 Jun 2025 02:02:26
Sending love mate sorry to hear of your loss but it was lovely to hear you speak so warmly about her.
It is never easy losing someone but it sounds like you had a wonderful mum fir 58 years which is a blessing.
Hope you are as well as can be expected mate.
16.) 19 Jun 2025 01:36:30
Aus I’m so sorry to hear about your mum mate, it is horrible getting older and life becomes so more unforgiving and so fragile. Thank you ? for your words pal and like all the lads have been staying we are all here for you. Melbourne, Deeper Down South and Bermuda, thank you fellas for your kind words, it’s amazing how many of us have never met yet we are all a family on here, it would be great to organise a meeting one night somewhere in the middle, sorry Aus as Australia will have to come here mate, lol. It would be great to meet up as you are all amazing on here and this site is awesome now, no arguments, no negativity and no horrible point scoring, I love it, cheers guys you have made my week ???.
17.) 19 Jun 2025 08:31:06
Sorry to hear your sad news Woodster, not an easy time. MOT.
18.) 19 Jun 2025 09:38:03
At least when your birthday comes around you will have more reason to celebrate. Do Not Mourn, she would not want that! Celebrate her life and remember all the good times you had and feel so lucky you managed 58 happy years with such a wonderfull lady. Stay strong mate.
19.) 19 Jun 2025 12:28:00
Wise words Leodis! ????.

Good post Aus, good points and yes a biggee please ? ??.
10 Jul 2025 01:54:08
Bloody hell John, you’re talking about going down already and the season hasn’t even begun yet! Jesus mate give it a chance, listen to what Alf says as he makes good points, Brighty, Aus, Vid, they are legend posters and they make lots of sense, so get a grip and give it a chance, if we are rock bottom at Christmas then you can be as negative as you want, until then you just got to believe.
Like I said above the 49ers are no mugs, they are not new to this and they are very serious about us going forward and if they didn’t trust DF then he would have been gone! We have had a lot of bad owners, think on that and be grateful for what we have. Also remember PSR has been a game changer, a lot of teams at the top got ahead of the PSR before it was introduced, so they made the most of it, then one of the richest owners in the world bought Newcastle United and they haven’t been able to spend like they would of before PSR, so maybe just maybe the 49ers have that in mind as well!
Believe my friend ???ALAW ???.
09 Jul 2025 18:28:16
Sorry Ed, I didn’t even realise my swear spelling there ?.
09 Jul 2025 18:05:44

08 Jul 2025 16:26:56
That is a really interesting read Ed, in relation to his laziness, it has already been highlighted by Guardiola and Micah Richards. Firstly he has a multitude of skills and he is majestic with the ball at his feet, but as soon as he loses the ball he becomes so uninterested in running back and getting in front of the ball again.
Micah said Cherki prefers other players to get the ball back and then give it to him, he hates being dubbed and doesn’t like being told what to do.
Skilled, yes 100%, but he hates having to get the ball back and when you watch him it looks like he’s afraid of getting stuck in and defending. He has a lot to learn and he might not get that at Citeh as Guardiola can be ruthless.
Cheers Ed001 ?.
{Ed001's Note - cheers mate, interesting that. I have not heard Micah Richards talking about him, I will have to look for it when I get some time. He has probably seen a lot more of Cherki than me to get a better idea of him.}
