Apparently Leeds AND Sunderland are looking at Boga. Knowing our luck we'll win this battle as he's proper pony!
1.) 11 Jul 2025 03:51:58
Just get Solomon in. He ain’t getting game time at spuds. Just buy him. Stop stuffing around.
Boga 21 games 1 goal 1 assist. That better not be the level we are considering.
2.) 11 Jul 2025 07:04:18
Agree with Aus. Boga's return last year was poor for both goals and assists and his scoring record over his career isn't good. Solomon had the chance of a long run of games last season and showed what he can do with both goals and assists. Even when he was subbed and didn't like it he came back with another performance. Kudus already signed by Spurs and rumours that they've triggered Gibbs White release clause and medical booked. Solomon won't get much if a look in.
There is talk that Trabz have bid £7m for Boga. Even at that price I'd rather pay double for Solomon.
3.) 11 Jul 2025 08:39:43
Get Manor!
4.) 11 Jul 2025 09:39:45
We need better than Solomon to stay up, he won't be playing Plymouth and Swansea next season
I know for a fact the club are aiming higher.
5.) 11 Jul 2025 13:09:11
6ft 4?
6.) 11 Jul 2025 14:43:12
It’s got to be telling you lads, as soon as we did nt go straight back in for him speaks for its self not strong enough, be exactly like aronsen, little push and he s over, want somebody bit bigger stronger on the ball got to be loads out there, but the thing that’s getting me going again is Leeds as every window that comes along linked with everyone they saying we’re linked to diouf, another senaglise gent and he s the one we should be buying young, can play in 4 positions absolutely killed saka when played England the other day but Leeds and the gent that is mr underwood says no because he s worth 21 million come on for them players play anywhere you ve got to spend.
7.) 15 Jul 2025 19:54:24
But lads that’s Solomon s league come on you must be barking if you really think he would do it in premiership seriously its different gravy you would be better off going with someone like boga who has more scope to improve unless Leeds gets this right we will be back in the wilderness again and as hard as it is now to get deals done it’s going to be twice as tough, but I still think 3 cracking deals have passed us by like if we’re scouting players but then other teams go for them we will simply pull out, that ain’t the way it works if you ve done your work and scouted them then buy them.
05 Jun 2025 22:41:14
Hope the Paixao rumours are true and we manage to sign him. Great talent.
1.) 06 Jun 2025 06:30:43
He would fit perfectly with Solomon and James. Him as a 10 would cause serious headaches for their defence.
2.) 06 Jun 2025 08:42:24
Arsenal now looking likely to make an offer.
3.) 06 Jun 2025 13:21:25
That seems to be the way, Leeds get interested in a player and a bigger club swoop in and take him.
The big teams fear Leeds rising to their former glory, and for good reason.
4.) 06 Jun 2025 15:25:47
Agree mot. Very steep hill mate. Bit by bit. Survive. Improve and attract. Easy inninit.
5.) 06 Jun 2025 17:10:16
Could all just be smoke screens for our real targets? Look at Ao for instance?
05 Jun 2025 14:37:56
We may go back in for Matt O'Riley at Brighton?
Tried to get him from Celtic before he signed for the seagulls. Good player and would be a massive upgrade on Aaronson.
1.) 05 Jun 2025 16:10:43
have we been linked Corkey or are you suggesting it?
2.) 05 Jun 2025 17:33:00
I've read that we are still interested, and he is unhappy with his role there.
3.) 05 Jun 2025 17:58:19
Just suggesting.

OP stated on an earlier thread that we missed numerous chances against Sunderland and I replied I can't remember any. He then sarcastically said maybe I choose not to remember.
I really can't be arsed to re watch the game as I hate afternoon napping, but can anyone remind me of the numerous times we opened up Sunderland on Tuesday evening and the many chances we squandered?
1.) 05 Mar 2026 11:00:52
We didn't!
2.) 05 Mar 2026 11:28:20
I can remember lots of chances to pass the ball forward that we didn't take, and passed it backwards.
3.) 05 Mar 2026 11:54:00
We had three good chances to score a goal. How many do you want against opposition playing a low block and pushing the rules to the limits?
4.) 05 Mar 2026 12:57:59
I have to say, on our supporters' coach on the way home, the general opinion / disappointment was the lack of any clear cut chances for us in the game. Playing only DCL upfront and two defensive midfielders, against a weakened, out-of-form opposition, was where the fault lay.
5.) 05 Mar 2026 14:24:42
Chances are going to be thin when you play against a well organized low block formation that was also very aggressive.
Farke said in his after-match interview that he wanted his players to meet Sunderland's aggression, but they didn't, and we lost the game.
I'm agreeing with him. We should have played with more ferocity. We needed to play dirty and win at all costs.
I don't particularly like us playing that type of football, but sometimes you have to meet fire with fire.
6.) 05 Mar 2026 14:54:28
Kinda hoping it was a blip. Players looked jaded, no energy that we showed against Citeh, but I fear we have to look at the setup, no rotation at all after a hard game/different oppo. At ER, playing 2 defensive midfielders with DCL lone up front shows a certain intent. No reactive subs again. Adjust at half time? Nah. Throw all your attacking options on in the last 15 when time is ticking and the chance has gone? Shades of DF reverting to the pre Citeh first game.
You can bang on about possession, but if you play tippy tippy, non effective football with it, you get nothing. May as well have had the players knitting or doing a colouring book. Many of our positive results have been with less possession than the opponent. Really pray DF is not trying to take one point a game to the line, because that has disaster written all over it.
04 Mar 2026 21:35:35
Absolute disaster of a night.
We are so good we pushed City all the way but still lost. Forest got a point away against them.
It is now time for DF to take the handbrake off otherwise we are doomed.
We can't continue playing for draws.
1.) 05 Mar 2026 07:04:21
Although our results show we have drawn a fair share of our games as an attack minded team, I really don't think we are playing for draws!
More down to the fact we are a recent Championship team, with lesser quality than the rest of this league.
04 Mar 2026 20:54:55
West Ham will probably win and Summerville will score. Guaranteed.
1.) 05 Mar 2026 06:21:50
Bloody hell, Corkster! ?
04 Mar 2026 20:52:25
Fair play to Sunderland this season. I've watched them a few times and while not pretty they've been effective.
A question lads. Who do you think have the better players? I was going to say team but their league position answers that.
Personally I can't see too many of their players getting in our first eleven so how the f**k are they nine points ahead of us?
1.) 05 Mar 2026 05:47:05
It's pretty obvious that they have better players than us. To name a few, Xhaka, Brobby, Diarra, Ballard and so on.
They had more money than us to spend in the summer, and outbid us on a few of their signings.
.
2.) 05 Mar 2026 09:08:17
Corky, there is so little to choose between both sides. For me it's down to the goalkeeper. They brought a relatively unknown in Rooefs and he's been sensational.
Peri has fallen well below what we had hoped for, given the money spent, and both our keepers have had personal lapses that have cost points, whereas many top teams are circling around the Sunderland keeper based upon his performances.
As a club, we have often struggled to sign top, top keepers.
3.) 05 Mar 2026 09:44:10
So you're saying you'd have Brobby over DCL? Diarra over Stach and Ballard over Rodon?
You really do have a low opinion of our better players, OP.
4.) 05 Mar 2026 10:51:01
All I know is that Sunderland have built a better team than us with their superior funds.
04 Mar 2026 09:37:14
One win in our last EIGHT games.
ZERO rotation. Certain players for whatever reason not getting a look in.
At this rate and on this form Wolves will do us at ER.
If W ham win tonight everything changes.
1.) 04 Mar 2026 11:21:50
With injuries considered, apart from Ao and Jaka, who is realistically good enough to start?
{Ed025's Note - I don’t think it’s about players Brighty it’s about set up and intent mate..
2.) 04 Mar 2026 11:28:00
Apologies, Corkster, I've forgotten about Longstaff!
3.) 04 Mar 2026 12:16:28
Competition for places, Brighty. Too many know they are going to start.
The whole of yesterday's bench has the capability to play a bigger part.
You mentioned three above, including AO, who, for some reason, has totally been frozen out while we continue to play two holding midfielders at home against mediocre opposition.
4.) 04 Mar 2026 12:22:30
Agree Corkster. This game crying out for changes. Should have been a walk in the park before and after seeing the game. They all looked knackered. Amps. Bogle. Stach. Ba. Gruev. Even out of form dcl knew the Wimbledon tactics would mean he was going to run a lot and do nothing.
How can pretty much the same team do so well v city and be crap v Sunderland. Answer. Knackered.
5.) 04 Mar 2026 15:41:04
I love how you call Sunderland mediocre, Corkey. We beat Forest and Fulham, but then lost to City and Sunderland, who have spent 29 matches and many more to come way above us in the table.
The eleven starters last night were the same eleven who probably put our best display against City. There was something off from the start, last night, for some very strange reason.
I don't know why we were so cautious.
Our bench is not great, and that's the difference at this level.
Sunderland had a plan and they stuck to it; whatever our plan was, we either didn't stick to it or didn't have one.
Wolves, Brentford, Burnley, and Brighton are all going to be very difficult games. I'm hoping for 2 wins from them and then a bonus somewhere away.
6.) 04 Mar 2026 16:27:14
3 wins required and the sooner the better.
7.) 04 Mar 2026 16:40:54
Ani, they had numerous injuries and their best player was on the bench. Mediocre, I believe, is about right?
I have to disagree that the M City game was our best display. A great first twenty minutes, and we put some pressure on at the end, but we looked knackered in between.
8.) 04 Mar 2026 17:06:23
I think our lack of activity in January is being laid bare now. Goals are definitely an issue, and in tighter games taking whatever few chances you get is the difference over 90mins.
Games are won & lost on such fine margins. Saturday's loss was there for us, but we fluffed 2 great chances.
Baracus' good spell has now gone, he needs to be taken out of the starting lineup for me.
Gruev is nowhere near the level required, just truth in saying.
Again, I believe we failed in January, and I believe we will lose ground on our current 15th spot. It will go fairly close to the end before the 3rd down plug hole is decided.
Here's hoping we can stay up.
9.) 04 Mar 2026 17:18:23
Last night was fairly typical of our performance so far this season. Against teams who come to play football, we do ok, and against those who, like Sunderland, come to park the bus, waste time, duck and dive and look to hit us on the break, we struggle. Don't see the potential for many more games like that this season.
10.) 04 Mar 2026 19:05:19
I agree there, Jr. Which takes us back to the good ole' number 10 role: a game changer, and ability to split a defence, beat his man, find a blinder from nowhere. We need that role filling next season more than ever!
11.) 04 Mar 2026 20:47:33
Real shame that we didn't loan a 10 in Jan, isn't it?
12.) 04 Mar 2026 20:58:57
If it wasn't so ridiculous, Alf, I'd laugh.
13.) 04 Mar 2026 22:32:43
What is the craic with Buenosnoches, then?
Fitness? Application? Quality? If he's just crap, why did we chase him twice? Puzzled!
14.) 05 Mar 2026 06:33:10
Sorry (again) - additionally, I tend to agree, Corkster, that rotation is a great thing, creating pressure and competition. Flipping, tho, is that, like OP pointed out, Tanaka and Longstaff have both been utterly gash when called upon of late. This weekend is the only game I'd consider starting them. Give Willy, DJ and Nmecha run outs, and the young left back whose name eludes me.
15.) 05 Mar 2026 09:48:36
Aaronson and Amps have been rubbish last two games as well, Brighty.
16.) 05 Mar 2026 11:23:31
Can't argue with that either, Corky!
26 Feb 2026 08:59:41
60 mill for a player who can't even get a start? All day long.
29 Jan 2026 12:11:10
Love the word “apparently”.
28 Jan 2026 15:57:10
Aidan Butterworth. He’s a blast from the past!
Saw him away at Fulham when I was a nipper and he looked a great player. He then quit football as far as I remember to study abroad.
03 Sep 2025 23:39:02
Couldn’t have put it better myself CW.
01 Sep 2025 20:21:26
Last year of his contract but surely a deal could have been struck?
Say 8 mill with add ons if he played x amount of games and we stayed up.
I didn’t expect Marks n Spencer shopping but definitely not Asda!
05 Mar 2026 09:48:36
Aaronson and Amps have been rubbish last two games as well, Brighty.
05 Mar 2026 09:44:10
So you're saying you'd have Brobby over DCL? Diarra over Stach and Ballard over Rodon?
You really do have a low opinion of our better players, OP.
04 Mar 2026 21:58:07
What is it? Two wins in fifteen?!
04 Mar 2026 20:58:57
If it wasn't so ridiculous, Alf, I'd laugh.
04 Mar 2026 19:28:45
Chances against Sunderland? Please remind me, because I can't remember.
