Lads and lasses, hearing rumblings of Mr R. Leao again this morning.
Reported around €50m and circa €10m p/y package.
Now don’t get me wrong, that's huge money.
However, and hear me out.
He is a player who can play in possibly 3 positions, LW/CF/CAM.
So given the additional revenue we would undoubtably gain through shirt sales world wide, is it actually that impossible of a deal to be done?
I don’t personally think it’s one that gets done, but there’s surely food for thought there.
1.) 13 Aug 2026 15:40:43.
Agent talk sadly.
2.) 13 Aug 2026 16:11:18
I get that, but it just got me thinking.
Rather than signing 2-3 players to fill, for example, the LW/CAM, is it viable to go big on 1 who can do both alongside the likes of Okafor, Wilson and others?
3.) 13 Aug 2026 16:36:22
Not for me. It's a prime 'opportunistic' signing at 35m euros, or even better, a loan with an option (our turn to benefit from loan/options for once) on the last day of the window.
If they get that much for him earlier, then it's not one we've missed out on at all.
4.) 13 Aug 2026 17:12:18
350k a week.
Only a handful of clubs in Europe would give that salary, and Leao has been a huge disappointment at Milan, so should be nowhere close. Never ever in a discussion about players suited to LUFC.
05 Aug 2026 10:56:04
Just announced on talkSPORT that we have been offered Raphael Leao, but no advancement other than that.
1.) 05 Aug 2026 13:15:06
Transfermarkt values him at £50M, so that's out of the question. Also, I'm always suspicious of such unsolicited "offers" of players. Why do AC Milan want to get rid of him to us?
2.) 05 Aug 2026 13:52:04
I get the impression that he isn't a great fan of Amorin and has decided, after several years in Milan, to move on. Galatasary are interested. I don't think he's heading our way.
3.) 05 Aug 2026 14:09:27
Nothing wrong with waiting and seeing, Dunelm. Patience, mate. Give it two to three weeks to not come off.
4.) 05 Aug 2026 15:13:33
Lol, Aus! Had me going for a sec there!
5.) 05 Aug 2026 18:08:11
Rafael, Lmao more like!
6.) 05 Aug 2026 18:36:33
Dgoodwin, do we have a problem?
7.) 05 Aug 2026 18:52:00
Pardon, Dave? You've lost me, mate?
8.) 05 Aug 2026 18:57:35
Maybe I've misinterpreted your previous post. It came across as though you were taking the urine out of my spelling.
9.) 05 Aug 2026 19:56:56
Allegedly offered but we haven't made any moves to get him. Think he would want UCL.
10.) 05 Aug 2026 22:18:16
Ah right, Dave - no - it was a joke. A play on words. Lmao is text shorthand for laughed my a**e off. And it's quite similar to Leao. It's probably the wittiest thing I've ever written. And no one laughed. Guess I'll get back under the stairs.
11.) 05 Aug 2026 23:05:17
Dave 0123, Norris, attack 1st, ask the questions afterwards. ???
12.) 06 Aug 2026 00:07:23
So funny, Dave. Are you a scouser?
13.) 06 Aug 2026 07:49:48
A total misunderstanding. Nowt to see here!
It was a good play on words tho, tbf!
02 Aug 2026 21:42:30
Gaby off with what looks like a hamstring injury!
Time to sign another left back.
TikTok Leeds, let’s get this transfer window moving.
1.) 02 Aug 2026 22:08:41
Oil tankers doing a 180 degree turn move quicker than our current recruitment team, Davey.
2.) 03 Aug 2026 11:41:08
If there's anything of a more positive note regarding our club that you'd like to share, Baz, please don't let us hold you back, eh?
3.) 03 Aug 2026 13:29:04
I can't recommend the 'ignore' function in your profile highly enough, Bright. Makes the site much more pleasant to read.
4.) 03 Aug 2026 14:01:54
Steady gents, Alaw !!
02 Feb 2026 16:12:06
Luca Netz to Forest 2.5m, you couldn’t write this ?.
1.) 02 Feb 2026 16:53:32
Parag obviously not asleep yet.
Forest have picked up 2 fantastic signings for less than 3 million.
Underwood still waiting for phone to ring RE JSL.
No plan B.
Farke back with 1 up top see you in the championship.
Even wolves are getting people in and they are a sunken ship!
2.) 02 Feb 2026 17:32:04
Give it a rest, LLF.
3.) 02 Feb 2026 17:38:58
All true what I said.
01 Feb 2026 14:36:43
Medical with Palace booked for JSL!
FINALLY WE CAN PUT THIS ONE TO BED.
Blunderwood it’s time to save our season pal.
1.) 01 Feb 2026 17:08:13
Strand Larsen 1 in 22. They are welcome to him.
2.) 01 Feb 2026 18:02:14
If the 9'ers are sticking with what we have they are pursuing a very risky strategy
Anything happen to Lewin currently we are deep in brown then with goals still being so scarce for us
So let's hope they strengthen tomorrow.
3.) 01 Feb 2026 18:15:10
Nobody wants to be deep in the brown.
4.) 01 Feb 2026 18:49:45
Mateta deal about to collapse.
5.) 01 Feb 2026 21:34:56
Tactics to shave off a few million no doubt.

10 Aug 2026 17:47:56
Think we can take Barjhi off the list, torn his ACL today.
1.) 10 Aug 2026 20:08:48
Yeah, I much prefer a chicken vindaloo.
2.) 10 Aug 2026 21:50:26
Better put the bog toll in the freezer, Bazwaldo!
3.) 11 Aug 2026 07:12:28
Bog Toll.. It's the price we pay.
4.) 11 Aug 2026 16:34:08
I'm blaming auto incorrect! ?? a ? tax, wouldn't put it past our government.
05 Aug 2026 06:32:49
Fulham going for Shea Charles report by Florian Pletenberg.
1.) 05 Aug 2026 07:13:02
What's all that about? They have offered 25mill. Didn't we offer that amount? Think we need to jump in before they pull this one off.
2.) 05 Aug 2026 07:45:18
He will go somewhere else.
We have been too wet in this one s.
3.) 05 Aug 2026 08:17:53
Again.
Not the first time we either don't get the deal done quickly or continue to pursue targets who become increasingly unlikely to sign for us.
Unless there are a few new additions at an advanced stage, we are going to have a poor window.
Also, we need to sort out BA's contract situation and move on Joffy and Ramz. It could end up with late decisions and a fire sale.
4.) 05 Aug 2026 08:25:32
And now we are supposedly faffing around with Paxo again. If we get Trafford in, it will be three good additions, but way short of what we need in and out. Let's hope for a good end to the window. Surely Parag can't be happy with Underwood's performance.
5.) 05 Aug 2026 08:39:41
I think the club takes a sensible stance; offer what you're willing to pay, no more. Of course, We have no insights to what that limit is for each player tho, so it's best to just watch these things play out. If it happens, great. If not, then it is what it is.
6.) 05 Aug 2026 09:06:54
Too true, Bright, our club, like others, will place a limit to the value of a potential purchase.
Way too risky paying over the odds for a player who's had no experience in the Premiership.
7.) 05 Aug 2026 09:10:20
Agree with Bright. The 3 signings of Trafford (assumed) , Wilson, and Muharemovic undoubtedly raise the floor of the squad.
I actually think the team are sitting around B on exits as well. Getting a decent fee for Struijk (not mind blowing) , a good fee for Schmidt, an excellent move on from Harrison, and terminating Wobers' deal would help.
Managing to move on Gelhardt and/or Piroe and Ramazani would upgrade outgoings, to an A if they are fees.
The floor of the squad has undoubtedly risen somewhat. So far, the depth has fallen. We ran with a pretty thin squad last season, which we ran the dice on (as newly promoted last term, that's one of the realities) .
I believe we'll be opportunistic. There is still a lot of moving and shaking to be done in this window, and some of it is like buying a house with a chain. Raphinha is easily the best signing in the last decade. It was one such signing. Not saying we will find another Raphinha, but something might pop up.
I don't believe we will land every position we think we need. The two goalkeepers and the left back are the absolute minimum. After that, a good striker.
8.) 05 Aug 2026 09:16:27
I have. Feeling they are banking on Cairns as number 2, but without being rude, he is absolutely horrendous
Beggars belief how he has landed a professional contract.
9.) 05 Aug 2026 09:32:38
Paixao's link to Leeds is click bait drivel, there's more chance of Messi signing for our club.
Who seriously would sign a player that has already snubbed your club?
10.) 05 Aug 2026 09:38:41
Is he that bad? What are you basing that on, Long?
Three pre-season friendlies?
I would say this much; his distribution was better than Darlow, and his catching was better than Mes?
The best keeper on show in our games was the guy from Wrexham, but Cairnes did better than the other two goalies on show in the games I watched.
11.) 05 Aug 2026 10:11:39
I'm basing it on his positioning and saving ability!
Awful player, stealing a wage, but hats off to him and his agent for fooling us.
As for OP, what club would buy a player who has snubbed our club? Probably our club!
Underwood was obsessive over that transfer last year.
12.) 05 Aug 2026 10:58:15
Longlost, was the outcome of last season's transfers not good enough to keep us in the Premiership?
13.) 05 Aug 2026 11:03:00
I wouldn't be so harsh on Cairns. His level is exactly what he should be - an emergency backup third choice who has good vibes.
It's not his fault the club haven't got the keepers in yet.
I'll say this match.
He distributes better than Darlow, can catch like Ani said, and, guess what, Rodon seems to trust him somewhat.
It's also preseason - I reckon keepers don't go full out just like you don't see full blooded challenges.
14.) 05 Aug 2026 11:35:09
Last year's transfers were good, but, as with this year, we missed out on things we should have got done, took forever on others, and probably paid over odds on stuff too.
Hats off to Cairns, I agree, but I'm worried if he's our number 2. That's all. I think he's a cracking bloke to have in the dressing room.
15.) 05 Aug 2026 11:47:45
At the moment, Cairns is first choice!
16.) 05 Aug 2026 12:02:01
Indeed LUFCfeath, .. Cairns is indeed our current number 1 keeper.
The one word I would use to describe our goalkeeping situation, both number 1 and number 2, since end of June is messy, very messy.
It will hopefully be resolved somewhat, but it wouldn't surprise me if it doesn't.
17.) 05 Aug 2026 12:44:37
So let me get this straight. It wouldn't surprise you if the club allowed us to start the season, with our 3rd choice keeper starting, and no substitute GKs at Farke's disposal? Says it all, that does. That, indeed, in one word, would be "messy, very messy".
18.) 05 Aug 2026 12:54:04
Nah, Bright, more on the lines of perhaps Citeh decide not to sell Trafford, and we end up with a combo of Perri, Cairns and one other back up.
Hopefully not (2 words) . ?
19.) 05 Aug 2026 15:16:35
Trafford would then put in a transfer request, at a guess. No way is he staying there to be #2 again.
20.) 05 Aug 2026 14:51:49
Longlostfan which transfers have we missed out on exactly?
Brandt? Didn't want to come. Had a better offer from Leeds & chose Ajax.
Charles? Leeds have their valuation & won't go above it. So how have they missed out?
30 Jul 2026 11:49:53
Holy cow poo, Batman!
Fulham have offered €70m for Real Madrid's Gonzalo Gracia!
Yes, €70m for a young lad who has barely played!
I wonder if talkSPORT have a meltdown like they did yesterday over us signing JT for £40m!
My guess is they won’t.
We need to get Espi done for his £21.5m release clause asap.
1.) 30 Jul 2026 13:15:19
They did just Dave a big meltdown, indeed, yesterday, and what did they say, he's only worth 15 million. ?
2.) 30 Jul 2026 13:28:50
I wouldn't worry, Dave. Talksport was good in the 90s, but not so since, imo.
3.) 30 Jul 2026 14:25:42
Athletic reporting they are buying two players off Madrid for a combined 50m euros, with 30% sell on for Madrid. So, quite far off the hyperbole, 70m for one.
Basically looks like they're gambling these two will replace the departing Wilson and Jimenez.
4.) 30 Jul 2026 19:56:30
Espi going to Real Madrid.
30 Jul 2026 08:57:31
Eddie Howe leaves Newcastle, Tonali gone.
Bruno maybe going.
Gordon gone.
They seem to be struggling to attract their main targets.
Could they be in real trouble this season?
1.) 30 Jul 2026 09:56:42
Unfortunately, I think they will always have the money to survive. Enough to throw at any transfer window. But it would be nice for them to teeter on the brink, lol.
2.) 30 Jul 2026 10:02:00
They only secured safety last season with all those players mentioned, with 3 games to spare.
I am surprised that Howe is leaving at this time, e.g., because of the timing, but was surprised he survived last season, to be honest.
3.) 30 Jul 2026 10:19:50
Doesn't really matter how much money the owners have if they aren't allowed to spend it because of the ridiculous top 6 monopoly rules such as PSR & SCR.
To lose Isak, Gordon, Tonali & possibly Bruno would cripple any manager and team.
4.) 30 Jul 2026 10:53:54
Agree, Dave, the chances of anyone from outside the top 6 money generating clubs winning the Premiership, unlikely unless PSR rules change.
5.) 30 Jul 2026 11:03:45
Don't care where they finish. So long as it's below us.
6.) 30 Jul 2026 11:23:58
Grrrreeeeat, intriguing, potentially very exciting news development!
Either
Eddie Howe for England coach job to replace Tommy Tuchel.
.or even much better, 49ers. Please upgrade. ?
Make the superior coach, Eddie Howe, an offer he can't refuse, to come to Leeds United as Head Coach to replace Farke.
With only one year left on Farke's deal, which both Farke and the 49ers side are unsure about extending, there would be a minimal payoff also.
Makes sense. Make it happen!
7.) 30 Jul 2026 12:34:14
Sorry, Baz, but I would have to disagree there. What exactly makes people think Howe is so good? Toon have consistently underachieved under him, and he looked like a rabbit in the headlights at times to me. I see no reason to bin DF, and I have confidence he will continue to prove himself and guide Leeds to the top. Tin hat on. ?
8.) 30 Jul 2026 13:11:18
Agree on that, Vid. Not that he ain’t better than we got. Just ain’t good enough. Massively underachieved with that talent.
9.) 30 Jul 2026 13:19:12
I agree with Vid. Howe isn't bad, but he's meh. 49ers are buying into Farke, and the way he wants to play, with wide playmakers (Wilson) rather than Wilson and building from the back.
If Bielsa is still the 8.5/10 benchmark I can remember in my 32 years, Farke is a 7.5/10. No grounds at all to pull the plug on Farke.
My only grips are he didn't get us promoted first time (which led to the Cry, Geogi and Archie fire sale) , and being a bit obvious about who he doesn't rate (Ramazani, Schmidt, Gnonto) , making it harder to trade them.
He did a stellar job with us in seasons two and three though.
10.) 30 Jul 2026 13:44:56
Interesting posts, Ealing and Davey. It's all about opinions. no need for your tin hat, Davey. ?
Agree with you, Ealing, about Farke's mess-up first season at Leeds.
Season 2 he would have messed up if he had not eventually dropped Mes.
Season 3 he was so stubborn about his formation that it was losing us games, and he was on the verge of the sack until he finally changed formation.
Defo a meh manager for me.
And not sure the 49ers are invested as much in Farke as you seem to think.
Davey, when Howe took over from Brucey, Newcastle were absolutely woeful.
Yet he won the Barcodes their first trophy ? in 60 years, within a few years, when it's in Newcastle DNA not to win anything.
Good managers such as Robson, Keegan, Dalglish won absolutely nowt with Newcastle.
And Howe finished 4th and 5th in the EPL in 2 of the 4 seasons.
Howe a far better coach, imo, than Farke.
Far more chance, though, imo, Howe becomes England manager succeeding Tuchel sometime between now and the next tournament than him becoming Leeds coach.
11.) 30 Jul 2026 13:47:43
Not sure, Aus, how he massively underachieved. He was up against more powerful clubs with better squads.
12.) 30 Jul 2026 14:56:00
Fair points in there, Baz, but as in life, it's not so much what happens as how you react that's important, and DF has certainly upped his game despite all the criticism and pressure he has endured. Don't forget you were barking for Nuno, who ended up somewhat less successful than DF. I often think it's not just about ability, you need a manager who "fits" the club, as you do players, and that is not easy to find.
Whatever you think of DF, there is no doubt he is totally invested in LUFC and has created a brilliant environment, and has, in 3 years, delivered on the pitch. His record is no mean achievement, imo.
13.) 30 Jul 2026 14:59:26
With as much money.
Be honest, Baz. He was gone at takeover. Just managed to smile himself a few years.
Nice guy. Found out talent. Back to lower prem team.
14.) 30 Jul 2026 15:01:17
I used to enjoy watching Leeds in the Championship, attacking style, with threats from lots of areas. I think his confidence is knocked from trying to attack at home and trying to pinch a goal away from home. It's very much risk and reward, and he has to be braver this year with the little bit of quality we have bought.
Still a ways to go though, it's a marathon, not a sprint, I hope he can establish the Championship days when teams were s*** scared of us home and away..MOT.
15.) 30 Jul 2026 16:25:41
Interesting follow up posts, Davey, Aus and Mr Benn. Some decent points of view.
16.) 31 Jul 2026 01:32:17
Isn't Daniel Farke "up against more powerful clubs with better squads", Baz, or isn't that allowed when you're pulling our manager apart day in day out.
23 Jul 2026 21:55:10
Lots of chatter tonight regarding Demirovic and Paixao, is there a world were we signed?
Wilson
Muharemovic
Brandt
Trafford
Demirovic
Paixao
Left back cover
Back up keeper.
If Carlesberg did transfer windows.
1.) 23 Jul 2026 22:38:16
That would, without doubt, be seriously impressive.
Particularly like the goal stats of Demirovic. Good target man, quick on the turn, clinical finisher.
2 down, 6 to go. Fingers crossed. ?
14 Aug 2026 15:10:35
The fact that Piroe wants to stay when he's clearly not getting any minutes & probably less than last season, speaks volumes of his own lack of ambition.
He will run down his contract then go to some mid table Championship side like Stoke or West Ham!
14 Aug 2026 15:07:57
There are rumblings of a possible player (Perri) + cash £25m for Paixao. They want Perri on a permanent deal, but can't really be seen buying/spending, given their financial position. Given that, a player + cash deal makes sense all round.
13 Aug 2026 16:11:18
I get that, but it just got me thinking.
Rather than signing 2-3 players to fill, for example, the LW/CAM, is it viable to go big on 1 who can do both alongside the likes of Okafor, Wilson and others?
12 Aug 2026 14:13:24
Forget Ampadu as a CB, it's never gunna happen in the Prem.
12 Aug 2026 14:11:03
Apparently his medical is scheduled for tomorrow for the Torino move, so the French better act fast.
Off them Perri & £15m for Paixao.
11 Aug 2026 16:34:08

He sells the y-shirts too.

Themselves? ?♂️ ?♂️ ?♂️
30 Jul 2026 14:00:02
It's clear that JT is away on holiday. The deal is all but done (medical) . I'd expect he has agreed everything, and will do his medical once he returns from his holiday.
Stop panicking. It's senseless him travelling, possibly halfway around the world for 24hr, to then go back to his holiday. Exactly the same as Wilson did.
