I see we are now after a lad from Espanyol (paper talk? ) . I keep reading we are after this or that phenomenon just wish he was an AM phenomenon. Or are we just waiting for Lewis Bate?

IF ronaldo Viera has been playing DM at Sampdoria and IF he has been gaining good reviews what are the chances of bringing him home in January?

leodis

{Ed002's Note - Zip - he has only just joined them.}

1.) 31 Oct 2021 16:26:48
Ed002 Hardly think 39 months equates to "just".

{Ed002's Note - He spent a year at Hellas Verona.}

2.) 31 Oct 2021 19:50:33
Ed002 Nevertheless he's been on Sampdoria books for that length of time plus the loan out shows they probably don't want him anymore.

What about these rumours coming out of Metz? Farid Boulaya. First I have heard of it/ him. Having to scrabble round Google to find him. Nobody has mentioned the name ever before.
So, must be true, what do you think?

leodis

1.) 20 Jul 2021 07:45:12
Career blighted by injury but q bit of a baller by all accounts. Would be good if stays fit but I worry about his injury record. However we do need a creative mid and at around £5m may be worth a punt depending on wages.

13 Jul 2021 16:19:49
good news/ bad news. Read somewhere that Casilla is definitely gone BUT we are still paying a "significant" amount of his wages?

leodis

1.) 13 Jul 2021 17:11:48
Oh, no, not THAT scenario again! Are we still paying Robbie Fowler too?

2.) 13 Jul 2021 22:23:38
Better than all his wages I suppose.

01 Mar 2021 17:48:38
Now chasing Nkoulo, a CB. Do we need another CB or is he replacing Kalvin?

leodis

1.) 01 Mar 2021 23:10:56
Hopefully so Struik can go out on loan (though I know peeps disagree) . That or to replace Cooper hopefully.

On the basis of the first half I was expectant at half time but Spurs upping their game noticably certainly adversly affected our game, unfortunately we have too many average players who, whilst being able to put in a shift, are quite incapable of affecting games. Even down to the sub Roberts. I, personally, would have put on a youngster (Greenwood? ) before Roberts.
Hopefully we can get a few walking wounded? back for BHA, to steady the ship, but against my better judgement, I feel it would be an idea to go shopping in January.
To end on a high note I thought Gelhart played well enough to warrant a few more starts. The lad showed he has potential (which we all know) and on another day would have bagged himself a goal.

leodis

1.) 21 Nov 2021 20:55:18
Leo - agreed on Greenwood before Roberts. Greenwood has a great understanding with Joffy from their games together in U23s, which could have been useful today. One of the commentators said Tyro had yet to find his best position - currently (unfortunately) his best position would seem to starting for a Championship club on loan.

2.) 21 Nov 2021 22:49:02
Commentator also mystifying said Tyler had the ability to come off tge bench and influence games! The only influence I've seen is making sure we lose.

3.) 22 Nov 2021 12:26:07
I think Bielsa made a tactical error after Spurs equalised - Up to then we were doing Ok with an understrength team. Immediately after the equaliser we bought on Firpo for Forshaw and played musical chairs with Kal, Pascal and others. This led to us losing our way and went onto the back foot. If Forshaw was not injured why take him off?

20 Nov 2021 11:42:36
Good news, it seems, about Matteo Joseph? The lad is only 18 so not a straight cover for Bamford. More like an addition to the U23s (for now) , Either way, what message is this for Gelhart?
Not picked when there is a dire need for attacking force. Not picked when the space is there. Not even given a proper chance for him to show what he can do. I am now not even saying he is the next Georgie Best but for goodness sake, give him a chance.

Leo : the scattergun recruitment policy lack of quality signings by Orta over the past 4 years is alarming and wasteful ( unless your name is Clueless and a few other deludeds)

Orta is awful, gash ; he was gash for Boro and he is gash for Leeds.

2.) 20 Nov 2021 14:29:31
Orta is so "gash" that he bought Drameh, Gelhardt and Greenwood, who have been called up by England age group!

Come on, who woke BazVid up? You know he can become confused when still sleepy

The Delusion is owned by those who use their myopia rather that facts.

3.) 20 Nov 2021 15:03:45
Just knew my ' gash ' comment would wake up my ole rose tinted mucka Axey from his slumber ; I have high hopes for Gelhardt and Drameh but getting into England U20 and U21 age groups is still no guarantee that they will definitely make it at EPL level.

4.) 20 Nov 2021 16:40:37
BazVid create your own analogies, you get so boring when you need to use the works of better men. me ole mucka! Yawn.

5.) 20 Nov 2021 16:41:19
And "gash"!

Are you trying to relive your younger years?

6.) 20 Nov 2021 16:50:44
Joe pulled out of the England squad with an injury this week. Probably why we won’t see him tomorrow either.

7.) 20 Nov 2021 17:01:05
Leodis agree 100% for some unknown reason BM seems to blind when it comes to trying something new, perhaps is in his make up.

15 Nov 2021 16:29:32
If, in the U23s, there are more hidden gems that have not, as yet, been given their heads I wonder just when, if ever, they will be bloodied. It seems it will not appear to be, when an out of form senior is rested, never seems to happen. It would appear some of us, perish the thought, are praying for an injury. Not too serious and only to selected players. Just serious enough to give a young gun a decent run to cement his place. Given the limited time allocated to them both Joe Gelhart and Cody Drameh have more than showed their ability to face up to the grown ups. This may also apply to more of the kids. We are back to the "You will never know until etc, " For me the players who most deserve a leg up are both McGurk and Bate as they have both been receiving rave reviews and this is the main area of the pitch crying out for fresh blood.

PS Mr Radz a successful trial could also save you a hole in your cheque book!
I would have even included young Charlie Cresswell as a candidate for promotion however we, at present, have a plethora of more than able Centre Backs and I am afraid the best that he can hope for is a seat on the bench, whilst those in the front of the queue prove their long term fitness.
PPS Do not forget about and look out for Charlie Allen. Certainly one to watch out for.
PPPS Good luck tonight lads.

leodis

1.) 15 Nov 2021 17:25:50
Cresswell is already getting opportunities.
The time will come for McGurk and Bate I’m sure, but in the meantime Radz needs a couple of holes in his cheque book, partic if BamBam is a way off returning?

2.) 15 Nov 2021 19:32:58
In sure Bielsa will introduce them in the right way when the time is right. See Carole's son impressing in the u18s and u23s lately.

3.) 16 Nov 2021 17:34:38
Plus I see Greenwood knocked one in for England U 21’s too.

4.) 16 Nov 2021 20:02:00
Leo - McKinstry would seem to be a little ahead of McGurk at the moment, having been with Leeds much longer (McGurk only joined us in July) and having already been a sub v Fulham in the EFL Cup. McKinstry is principally a No10, who’s also played out wide, whereas McGurk, as a left winger (with some gametime at RW and 10) is unlikely to get ahead of Harrison and James, who both clearly need gametime to get up to the necessary levels of performance.

13 Nov 2021 21:38:18
Roberts can't get a start for Wales and James is a disappointment. Sound familiar?

leodis

1.) 14 Nov 2021 07:02:03
Didn’t see the game but James normally produces very good performances for Wales whilst Roberts exclusion is of no surprise.

2.) 14 Nov 2021 11:48:25
On the plus side, Ghallagher’s promotion to full England squad sees Sam Greenwood promoted to England u21’s.

07 Nov 2021 16:23:44
Back to the Leeds we know and love. Back to the high tempo, Fast press. We again though proved that posession does not win games. Its now looking better for the rest of the season.
If/ when Bielsa leaves I hope its for the Argentine job or maybe PSG.

leodis

1.) 07 Nov 2021 17:19:50
Yes that was much, much better. A few players still out of sorts but good to see a proper performance again.

Draxler, Really? let's just park him on the list between Messi and Bale. Just above Ronaldo (Christiano that is) .
Maybe he does prefer Paris to Leeds but he could live in Batley and get the train in.

Quite right Brighty but I do applaud the Board for trying to remove the doubt. Only with knowing can they, the players, or the potential recruits plan ahead. As for us fans, it doesn't hurt either.

Word is there are 3 names in contention 1- Martinez 2 - Corberan? 3 - Pochettino? Or maybe I am wrong.

If HE decides, then I say go, with the Love of all at Leeds. It is probably time. I just hope Martinez, or Pochettino (or whoever) plays the same style that we have all come to know and love.

Not my only, but my biggest frustration at the moment is that if the Big Man had listened to us weeks ago he would have already jettisoned Roberts and we would have had a young striker with a few games under his belt, going at a bang average Spurs defence.

I never really thought Villa was a one man team, maybe I was wrong? Either way, it seems City overpaid for him. Maybe the lad just can't settle moving way oop North. The customs are different. The pies are bigger and don't even get me started on the breadcake/ Barm Cake debate.
