Does anyone know if we are allowed to pick any of the returning loanees for the final three games?
Thinking of Cresswell, Shacks and Hjelde as they won't be involved in the play-offs.
{Ed002's Note - No, they are not available.}

Just a thought.
Let's say the worst happens and we lose to Spurs next week. The Hammers have got Arsenal - in all seriousness, I cannot see them getting even a point against the Gunners, which would mean we are safe.
Seven points ahead with two games to go.
Still rather see Spurs go down though!

If West Ham beat Gooners, we are back in doodoo.
2.) 03 May 2026 21:51:37
Hammers won't beat Arsenal, Baz. We'll be fine.
3.) 04 May 2026 01:12:23
Agree every word, Cleggy, I can't see Wet Sham beating Arsenal either. Interestingly, that game is the day before we visit Spuds, so, by the time they kick off, the lads will be certain that we're mathematically safe (or not) . So, how might that affect how they play? Will they play with more freedom, or will they be mentally "on the beach"? Spuds will still want to win, as they'll only have a one point gap with two games to go.
Our final match away at Wet Sham might still decide who stays and who goes.

How the bloody hell are Villa losing at home to Spurs?
You can't rely on them to do anything correctly!
1.) 03 May 2026 21:47:36
Time to dust off my "Farke Out" banners, Cleggy.
2.) 04 May 2026 09:26:55
Why? What's that got to do with Villa vs Spuds?
29 Apr 2026 20:29:25
Whilst it's understandable that we are all nervous because we are not yet safe, there's one thing we need to remember.
Spurs and West Ham need to win their remaining matches and so far this season only the Hammers have strung back to back wins once.
Spurs have got Villa this weekend away from home and the Hammers have got Brentford followed by the Arsenal - all of those teams are going for Europe or the title.
That's one hell of an ask for both clubs - even if one of them manages it, it's highly unlikely that both of them will.
Relax guys, take a few deep breaths and all will be well. : )

Great post, Cleggy. Was going to post something very similar, whilst it's not surprising to doubt or be concerned with our own team's performance, it's what we naturally do, however, on the run in.
Put yourself in the Spuds fan base shoes.
They are third bottom of 20 in the form league; they will be lucky to get a single point from their remaining games, and that's against us.
Bournemouth away was a tough, tough fixture and we got a well earned point. I think we can definitely win away, and if we can't, they definitely cannot win the points needed to keep them up in my humble (personal) opinion.
2.) 29 Apr 2026 21:35:00
Right with you in having that perspective, Cleggy. It'll be reet! (Fingers still crossed tho!)
3.) 29 Apr 2026 22:49:15
Too true, Brighty. )
And you're correct, Class, that point against Bournemouth was hard fought, and shows that we've got real spirit. Have Spurs got the same? Not on the evidence of this year!
4.) 30 Apr 2026 10:38:57
My only fear is that Villa go into their match with one eye on their return Europa fixture. Hopefully it will not distract them too much.
They have a job to do!

9 On the other hand, football doesn't always run to form, last week when Florists, Spuds and Sham all won whilst we only drew being a case in point. We've got 4 games left, 2 against relegation rivals, 1 against a team pushing for European qualification, and 1 against an already relegated team with nothing to lose and maybe a point to prove who've already beaten us once this season. If the same scenario were to play out this weekend, we'd be 16th, with Sham 1 point behind, and Spuds 3 points behind, both with home games against us still to come.
I'd rather be in our position than theirs, but it ain't over til it's over. I never like the words "must win game", but Friday night is definitely a "must not lose".
Better news that Spuds have now lost Simons and Solanke to injury, probably for the rest of the season.

It's a funny old game, Jr.
25 Apr 2026 17:26:43
Disappointed that both Hammers and Spurs won today but they were absolutely must win matches for them (Everton at home and Wolves away are the games you need to win) .
Our must win is next Friday against Burnley - win that and one of them might catch us but not both.
Even if we come away with nothing against Burnley, our destiny will still be in our own hands as we've still got to play both Spurs and the Hammers.
Listening to the Spurs game on the radio today - loads of effort but zero quality.
We'll be okay guys (and we are going to Wembley twice this season!) .
MOT:) .

On the nose again there, Cleggy!
14 Apr 2026 18:07:05
A quick thought - I, amongst a few others on here, were fairly neutral about the FA Cup back in the third round (if we lost, we lost and so be it) .
But it has bizarrely helped us to achieve a victory at Old Trafford which hasn't happened in many a long year.
We looked so much brighter than they did because we had played a week ago, whereas Man U hadn't kicked a ball in anger for 24 days (the same could be said for the Hammers playing a Wolves team devoid of competitive football for three weeks) .
Three invaluable points for the pair of us!
It does mean of course, that we'll have to a lengthy cup run every time the authorities decide not to schedule any football over the Easter period!
Who cares? I'm still celebrating after last night. :)
MOT guys.

Good post Cleggy, very true. ?
2.) 14 Apr 2026 23:33:31
A potential appearance in a big occasion at Wembley, always does wonders for player's confidence.
3.) 15 Apr 2026 07:21:14
Great points of view there, Cleggy!
4.) 15 Apr 2026 09:04:58
I hear what you are saying about momentum, but my worry was/is we are one kick away from an injury, and did not want to be on the list of teams - won the Cup and relegated, same season.
12 May 2025 14:55:05
Yes please - he'll do nicely.

Wilder blowing a gasket, never:) ) ) ) ) ) )
Oh dear, how sad, never mind:)

Please, no!

You sure that’s not Ryan Kent we are trying to sign Alf?
21 Aug 2023 14:54:00
And make sure there's a loan clause correctly inserted into the contract.
Sorry, previous regime! Just couldn't help myself.
03 May 2026 21:51:37
Hammers won't beat Arsenal, Baz. We'll be fine.
01 May 2026 19:37:29
Apologies OP - hadn't spotted you'd gone but glad you're back anyway. : )

28 Apr 2026 22:35:38
I'd go along with your scoreline predictions, Baz.
Although I actually think we will put more than one past Burnley.
A victory for us, a defeat for Spurs, then a draw against Spurs the following week, and we are safe - let's think positive, and it will happen. :)
26 Apr 2026 20:09:20
Absolutely Brighty!
Pity it's over, but fun while it lasted.
All focus on Burnley on Friday from now on.
