Farke states, and I quote, " we wanted to go through "

I hate being taken for a fool, that's bol&$#ks, if he was serious about going through he wouldn5 have made 10 changes.

1970 2-5

1.) 08 Feb 2025 21:18:20
you can make changes and still want to go through.

2.) 09 Feb 2025 12:59:19
He's right, 1970. We did want to go through, we just didn't want to risk our players doing so.

There's an argument to be made that we should have bought more players if injury is such a concern, but that's by the by.

3.) 09 Feb 2025 14:09:23
MOTagain 100%.

4.) 12 Feb 2025 09:03:49
Farke vindicated after last night? Resting the squad seemed to work like a charm.

1970 we need to get through promotion which has just got harder we could be two pints behind come Monday night.

Bielsa post match comments are very worrying - he sounds tired and defeated, almost resigned to continued struggles. My bet is he is off back to Argy at end of season.

Never liked gooners - can’t stand that whiner Arteta.

Arsenal and big clubs no longer really English and PSG not really French, ( only 3 English staters and 2 French I think ) .

Gooners still trying to cheat at corners ( hands up if you enjoyed the timing of first half whistle ) .

I’m old and tired and lament the game, the pitches and attitudes of my youth.

Maybe they should of saved a lot of time and gone straight to penalties, just a thought.

1.) 31 May 2026 08:49:46
1970,
Yes, I fully agree, mate.

2.) 31 May 2026 09:04:08
Certainly prefer penalties to the bore draw of extra-time where no team dare stray over the halfway line, for fear of leaving space at the back!

Have a horrible feeling that the World Cup is going to serve up more of the same!

3.) 31 May 2026 10:15:00
Can't understand why so many Arsenal fans expect everyone to have their support and love in for their club just because they hadn't won a major trophy for a very long time.
Then they don't understand why other fans, radio and media pundits heap a load of abuse on them.

They are so weak: take the banter, even be self-deprecating. It's unbelievable the self-indulgence they take upon themselves.

They are becoming the fans and club with their anti football who are setting themselves up to be abused regularly.

4.) 31 May 2026 12:38:51
Penalties were the only interesting part of that UEFA drabathon, tedious UCL final.

And..

What an absolute blooming contrast to the exciting semi final matches between PSG and Bayern..

I don't like either club (especially Bayern for obvious historic reasons) , but I have to admit both clubs were supremely entertaining in semi finals, serving up fab football matches.

That deserved to be the final..

5.) 01 Jun 2026 07:35:55
The worst thing that happened was Arsenal taking an early lead, cos after that they just stopped trying. I can't believe they thought they could hold PSG back for near 90 mins, but that was how they were playing. After the equaliser, there was only one team likely to win in normal (or extra) time, and then a penalty shoot out is always a bit of a lottery.

Gyokeres is not a world class striker, but he is the best they've got, so to start him on the bench seems strange.

69 mill for Gordon from bankrupt Barca. Wouldn’t give you half of that, grossly over rated.

1.) 27 May 2026 22:13:47
He's no superlative Raphinha, that's for sure.
Closer in talent to Jackie.

2.) 28 May 2026 12:08:58
Gordon Ramsey!

The football world is bonkers!

3.) 28 May 2026 12:40:48
Indeed, Ani.

I would want Flash Gordon at £69 million, not Anthony Gordon.

4.) 28 May 2026 21:17:31
We sold Raphinha to Barcelona 4 years ago, and they still owe us £36M on the deal. If I were a club selling a player to them now, I'd tell them the deal is 100% of the fee up front, or no deal. Take it or leave it.

5.) 28 May 2026 22:37:23
I'm not sure they still owe us for Raphinha, JR; I believe we were paid by a 3rd party intermediary and BCN owe them for Raphinha.

6.) 29 May 2026 05:40:00
Spot on with that, Ani.

07 May 2026 22:54:49
So it's ok for vile to field a b team against spuds then as if by magic have their a team ready for florists, brings into question the integrity of the EPL as a competition.

1970 2-5

1.) 07 May 2026 23:30:44
A team that didn't seem to try too hard either !

However, you got to somewhat begrudgingly say that Emery certainly has the knack of getting teams to Europa Cup finals.

Isn't this his 7th time (and he's won it 5 times so far) ?

2.) 08 May 2026 06:57:22
Agree 1970, but I admit, of the two teams left in it last night, overall, I'm glad Florists are out after their owners' underhanded shenanigans in denying Palace's rightful place in the competition over multiple club ownership, when everyone knows he's still in charge at Forest, even if he has purportedly released control to his board.

The fact Palace secured their place in their final hopefully added to the pain for the mad dictator.

3.) 08 May 2026 20:09:51
It may show what we should have done ahead of the FA Cup semi-final. We wouldn't have been complaining if it got us to the final, would we?

07 May 2026 11:42:21
Are we not safe due to GD if Wet Sham even have a draw and not win out? Or am I missing something.

1970 2-5

1.) 07 May 2026 13:58:41
They need to win all three, and we lose all three, or their two wins need to be big and our losses big. Spam ain't winning another game imo. Maybe us, cause we will be on beach lol.

2.) 07 May 2026 14:00:48
1970, if West Ham fail to win, then we would be essentially safe.

Personally, I think we will get our own points anyhow to render West Ham's results meaningless.

A draw for West Ham is my torn hope; we become essentially safe, and Arsenal back on parity with City for the league title.

3.) 07 May 2026 14:26:00
Their GD is -19 and ours -5. If we lose all 3, and they win 2 and draw 1, they'd still need a movement of 15 goals across 5 'non drawn' games, or 3 per game - possible, but unlikely.

4.) 07 May 2026 15:29:30
Imagine the melt down on here, myself probably included, if Hammers beat Arsenal and we lose to Spurs?!

5.) 07 May 2026 16:26:24
I really don't want to think about such a possibility, my nerves wouldn't stand it.

6.) 07 May 2026 16:28:39
Hope I am completely wrong, but Spuds will likely beat Leeds, Corkey, imo..

So, we defo need Gooners to, at the very least, draw, but preferably win, then it's cigar and bevvies time..

Finally..

7.) 07 May 2026 17:19:43
The site would crash, Corkey!

8.) 07 May 2026 17:37:48
Why would Spursy beat the Mighty Whites? We won't roll over. Farke, as stated, wants 9 more points. Up The Whites Down The Pints. ???

9.) 07 May 2026 18:56:45
Err, well, Adrenalin72 (good name, by the way) .

1) Spursy have already beaten this Leeds team this season, and they have won the past 5 matches vs Leeds, scoring 16 goals and conceding 6 goals.

2) Let's be frank, Spursy have better players than Leeds, and, most crucially for them, they are responding positively to De Zerbi.

They played well under De Zerbi at home to Brighton and away to Villa.

3) Sorry. but Farke Leeds teams have bottled important pressure matches.

- our 23/24 season run in.
- playoff final.

And, to a lesser extent, FA Cup semi.

10.) 07 May 2026 20:18:46
I agree, Baz, that Leeds have bottled certain big games, but we have definitely not bottled the last four, three wins and a draw, all of which were 100% pressure games.
The word "bottle" gets banded about way too much in football.

Most often it's just "on the day".
If you truly believe in teams bottling it, then our greatest ever side were the biggest bottlers of all time. Don Revie's great team.

11.) 07 May 2026 21:07:40
I don't agree with Revie's teams bottling it.. Have had this debate before re injustices etc.

Along with many very good teams..

Leeds were going deep in 4 competitions each season, Corkey, with same players each match (crucially very small squads, in those days) , and missed out on many more trophies as a result imo.

12.) 07 May 2026 21:37:09
I agree, Baz, that's my point.
Sometimes you just lose games?
Funny, I actually believe Leeds "bottled" it first half against Chelsea.
As for small squads, every team was in the same boat those days.

13.) 07 May 2026 22:29:08
I'm afraid Cork is right, Baz. Revie's team, whether you like it or not, didn't bottle it, but lost the chance to win many trophies during that period because they failed to seize the opportunity.
As regards Spurs, they are a really crap football team right now, and the reason why they have been around the relegation zone for the last two seasons is because they are a crap football team.

Regardless of any past meetings against Spurs, I will be massively surprised and disappointed if we don't beat them on Monday.

14.) 07 May 2026 23:13:49
They failed to seize some opportunities, OP, but there's also far more to it than that, far more other reasons from 1970 to 1975 in particular.

As regards Spuds, hopefully you are proved right, right, but I doubt it.

15.) 08 May 2026 09:36:13
Don't forget, lack of subs in those days meant players played too much and were often injured.
Hard to compete on multiple fronts then!

16.) 08 May 2026 13:20:52
Exactly Canada. ?

17.) 08 May 2026 14:10:49
Didn't bother Liverpool in the 70s.

18.) 08 May 2026 14:29:22
How about we rejoice in what our boys are doing rather than what others are, just a thought. I mean, if you are gonna fret all season on others' performance, it's a bit pointless, really. If we perform, it is insignificant what others do. If we don't, then we deserve what we get.

27 Apr 2026 01:33:10
Fans fantastic as always!

BA through on goal, wasn’t that excited as I expected him to miss.

DCL hundred grand plus a week, free header at good height for him and he plonks it straight at keeper.

AO - pick you effort.

Just not our day, getting completely disillusioned with refs. How can a side be allowed to stop a game when it suits them and get way with all the mock rolling around injured. That lot of pansies would of s*** bricks if they had to face “bites yer legs”.

Anyway now we need three points v Burnley, any less and I think there will be trouble down the line. We do not perform well in London and if spuds and sham have to win against us, with home advantage they probably will. (likely with a goal after the 85th minute) . Our boys are fighters so let’s start with a big 3 points on Friday and put some pressure on the others.

1970 2-5

1.) 27 Apr 2026 07:11:35
Farke and his team, including players such as DCL, BA, AO, had to do much better than they actually did yesterday. They were woeful in the first half, and a bit better in the second.

Regrettably, Leeds United now have the unwanted record of being the first club to get to 4 Wembley finals, lose them all, and fail to score a goal in any of them.

Farkey was the manager for 2 of these insipid match performances. Hmmm.

2.) 27 Apr 2026 07:17:40
We need an early goal on Friday vs Burnley.

43 points needed.

3.) 27 Apr 2026 10:06:42
Agree, Baz, we must go for the jugular from the off on Friday. Regarding that unwanted record, take the Charity Shield win against Liverpool out of it, and it is 5 games without a goal, as we didn't score against Sunderland either.

4.) 27 Apr 2026 10:13:40
Never used the width of the pitch, and looked, for most of the game, like we had no wingers, and, in the first half, no midfield.

Credit to Chelsea for taking their chances. I must say that Fernandez comes across as a very dislikable individual.

That sprint to the touchline when Sanchez went down, feigning injury, was an absolute disgrace. That s*** needs to stop next season, though I'm sure, instead, we'll all be doing it.

5.) 27 Apr 2026 10:39:50
How does yesterday create that record, Baz? It wasn't a final.

6.) 27 Apr 2026 11:29:58
Good point, Canada.

7.) 27 Apr 2026 12:01:46
Yes indeed, LUFCfeath..

To balance it out, though.

Leeds United did score in the other Wembley Charity Shield match vs Liverpool in 74.

And all four other Wembley (FA and League Cup) Finals they were in 65, 68, 70 and 72.

8.) 27 Apr 2026 12:12:20
Correct, Baz, and a fair point from Canada as well. We also failed to score in the Play Off Final against Watford at Cardiff.

9.) 27 Apr 2026 13:03:04
Even if it wasn't a final, it's still frustrating!

Please see my post from earlier this week! Of course he knew, no doubt what so ever - question is would he have spent regardless?

Probably not - but as I stated previously we will end up with net profit the window for Radz to siphon off a couple of million for other ventures.

He has been good for Leeds but first and foremost he is a business man looking to make a profit.

For clarity - I have never opined on whether Farke should be in or out, but will now - he should be gone at the end of the season. (that's pretty straight, me thinks) .

It is your perseveration on the topic which is alarming - we won't be making the decision; the powers that be will, making our thoughts moot.

Anyway, onwards and, hopefully, upwards, and to be clear, downwards is OK too. My support will not diminish either way.
