Fantastic signing for us - in absolute Dreamland with this signing, and we absolutely smashed our transfer record. Great announcement video as well, a Leeds legend hopefully ushering in a future legend.

Still plenty of the window to go, and I hear another 3, 4 or maybe even five to come.

Wowee! Somebody pinch me.

Sweet Leeds Treat.

By all accounts, there is no buy back clause, other than that City have first refusal at the price agreed for the player with any other club, i.e. if Leeds agree £X with Team Y, City have the first refusal at £X.

Regarding Trafford's supposed enormous wage compared to all his new teammates, I hope this doesn't cause unrest in the changing room, as egos get challenged as they usually are amongst millionaire footballers.

I know, in DCL's case, he was rumoured to be what they're saying Trafford is getting, but in actual fact he is on around 90k a week, the same as Stach and a few others, because he took a whacking big signing-on fee of many millions. I hope that is the case with Trafford, so that his weekly wage is on a par with DCL, Stach and the rest, ensuring noses are not put out of joint and team unity is maintained.

What a problem to have, though, with these eye-watering sums these footballers receive. It's like monopoly money, although half of it gets taxed unless they have clever accountants that are capable of siphoning it off in various guises, allegedly, of course, a bit like Andy Dufresne in The Shawshank Redemption.

Cheshire White, you would be naive to think they pay income tax like we do.

Smart accountant an essential for them.

Remember reading years ago in The Times.

Steve Gerard was one of the 1st to avail of a loophole where the club "loaned" him his entire salary, and he "repaid" them, thus availing of the many legal loopholes available and paying a fraction of the tax that would be applicable to an ordinary worker.

Most modern players will set themselves up a Limited Company and pay themselves a very basic salary, then pay themselves [and other directors of the company / read family] dividends at a much lower tax rate and / or corporation tax, again at a much lower rate; they also offset huge expenses as business costs, etc.

Sadly, it is quite easy to legally reduce your tax. They are very likely to pay a much lower % rate of tax, but they will still pay large amounts of tax compared to the man on the street.
