Think we might start assessing what type of fans post on here. Blind optimist, realist, pragmatist, ones that will here not a bad word said, ones that will assess each matter on its merits. Those with false optimism and those downright pessimistic.
What category does everyone fall in to.

For me I think I can see the faults and weaknesses also the strengths which are many.
Hope for the best and prepare for the worst is probably the best approach as it is about the easiest way to get over disappointment.
For this season, we appear to be on a slippery slope again, can we turn it around?
Fatigue, energy levels and squad depth are big concerns.

Think i am a Pragmatist. I say things as i see them. Will give praise but also highlight mistakes or shortcomings.
We are a better team, play better, than three years ago but have not progressed much from last season. Problems have not been fixed, problems that were evident to every one. We only defend for about 15 minutes a game and let goals in. We are on the ball for 60 minutes or more a game and have numerous chances but we do not score much.
We started the season with one striker who can't score, big mistake. We started the season with two CBs, big mistake. Once again it seems we have a plan A and little else. We may get out of this league this season but if we do not sure it will be just the players who struggle in the PL.

I’m probably a slightly pessimistic realist that’s always right though👍.

As a supporter of many, many years and having been built up and let down so many times before I am probably a bit of a pessimist with pragmatic tendencies, but above all, at the end of the day, as St Davey said, I'me A Believer!

I don't normally post here, but always like to read the thoughts of others. I clutch to the hope that our slide has really occurred two months before it happened last season and we can come through it and kick on. Fortunately, there is no relentless Sheffield United chasing us either. next two games will be telling!

Pessimistic, optimistic, pragmatic and a realist, depending on results. 🤷
