25 million for Elliot, in my opinion, would be good business, obviously depending on add ons etc. Before he went to Villa, he was up there with the best English players of his position, but I don't think we will go for him. Shame, really.

Only prob is that he's been virtually out of the game for nearly a year, and nobody really knows how good he is now. He'll have a lot of catching up to do wherever he goes.

I do like Elliot, and think he's a Leedsy-type of player, and appears to have the attitude and work rate that would make him a fit.

I warned about this a few days ago. Like Sunderland last season, Coventry can afford to spend big this time round. If we really want Harvey Elliott, then we can't afford to prat about. We have to go for it and convince him that this is the best place for him.

Agree, JR, my only problem with our recruitment team is sometimes they dilly dally. Not that all reports are true by a long stretch, but if DF wants Elliot then get stuck in now, don't wait till someone else makes a bigger offer. I am a tad biased, though, as I have always liked Elliot.

He isn't fancied by Slot, despite good performances before he was appointed, and for England U21s. He has a good injury record, but broke his foot and never got much of a look-in at Liverpool after that. I'd certainly take him ahead of the likes of McAttee.
Hackney a possibility if Hull win (not favourites) , and Finn Azaz.

If he comes here, he can renew his "acquaintance" with Pascal Struijk, who got an unwarranted red card for a tackle that left Elliott with a broken leg in the 21/22 season.
