I'm on a right downer but Coventry smashing Sunderland shows what a bad result he had last week.

Absolutely Corkey. and Coventry 3 wins in 5 on a roll and scoring 8 goals in those games
The likes of Hull, Ipswich, Coventry and Frankie are proving peeps wrong on here and elsewhere.
they most certainly arent no R fodder clubs. and are competing well which is not good news at all for some other EPL clubs.

We are all with thee Corkey,

Nah Corkey I disagree with you Im afraid.
Coventry have actually been decent overall. They had a ridiculously tough start in Arsenal, City and the form setters in Brighton in the first four games. It took them time to adjust. Since they've had a run of games where points are reasonably possible they've been highly competitive.
Its also pretty convenient to neglect mentioning that just days after we drew in a gale at Sunderland, Brentford went up there and played a near full-strength team and got beat in the cup.
I dont think a point in a gale away from home in the prem was poor at all. The performance was difficult no doubt. But to say we should have done better at Sunderland just because Coventry beat them at home isn't considering every factor.

The gale affected both sides Ealing. We are not creating chances and the weather has eff all to do with it.
Bournemouth Man U Sunderland and Palace we done very little going forward.
And as for Brentford at Sunderland that was a cup game.
You say Coventry have been competitive from a run of reasonable games? Were the above matches I mention above not a run of reasonable games for us to get points? Cmon.

Yeah it made attacking pretty difficult for both sides Corkey. Not like Sunderland had many chances to score themselves. And you say collect points from a reasonable run of games. We only failed to register a point in one of those four games.

So you're happy enough with the results from those 4 games Ealing? Three points from FOUR games,ONE goal scored. Zero goals against a Sunderland team who have conceded 17 and palace with have let in 21.
It's the performances which worry me more than the actual results.

We can agree that the performances haven't been great Corkey absolutely. I also look at these and go these are the matches we would have lost in that poor spell last season.
I think in isolation I maintain I'm fine with the Sunderland, and Manchester United results. Bournemouth was a poor result against a strong team. The bookies had us as underdogs and they are one of the best run clubs in the league (triple B Brighton Bournemouth Brentford) I maintain that Palace was the worst performance especially at home and the best chance to have picked up three points instead of one from those. But I don't expect us to play well every week. And in some ways its encouraging that even when we play rubbish we can grind out results in most games. I'd much rather see us win and win playing well of course.
Its right to say the promoted sides are not fodder. But we haven't played any of them yet and no matter how well they are doing you have to expect results there. Look at Fulham. Arbeloa was on his knees. They got two wins vs. Coventry and Hull (loss vs. Ipswich) . But wins vs. promoted are Fulham's only ones this term.
I think im just staying grounded. We'll end the week in 12th, after the result of Newcastle - Everton whatever happens. Two wins from nine isn't great. But its also two defeats in nine in the league. People can spin that both ways, the pessimistic route is more popular and because its more recent.
I might be right to do so. I could just as easily be wrong. I still think there are eight prem teams who would give a lot to be where we are right now.

That is balanced Ealing. I am disappointed because I think we have missed opportunities v Man U and Palace by being too cautious. However, I think we are a much better side this year (at the back and keeper at least) so I don't envisage a relegation battle and hopefully we can build again in the summer and add goals and creativity, after having added a lot of rigour and solidity this time round.
Need the likes of okafor, Stach, Nmecha tanaka and Wilson to find form and chip in with goals like they did last year (not Wilson last year obvs, but promising signs there yesterday I thought) .
