In view of the dire decisions, previously issued by "the board" may I caution against repeating past mistakes. Can we please deliberate long and hard about, what is, THE most important decision that has to be made (and soon) . Who will be our next Manager. I ask, Please, do whatever is needed to pick the right man. No experiments, No gambles (yes I know every appointment is a gamble but) No unknown picked because he has a great NFL record! let's see a man to get us success in the future not just another body thro a revolving door. It probably won't be smooth with darkness before the dawn but please when you identify The Best (spend big if you have to) back him. Back him 100%. Just look at Arteta. He could have been gone first season but the board saw his vision and now look at them. I know we do not have Arsenals' money but our short term goals are far less ambitious. Continuity has a lot going for it. New manager, new style, new ethos some players cannot, will not, adapt so changes will be needed. Changes that at first sight look counter intuitive but Please stick with it/ him. No more 5 year plans on the back of a napkin. Our great club deserves respect and faith. Pick the best and give him what he needs. let's start by returning to the most recent list and see where that takes us.

Good post Leo
Lots of big decisions need to be made on ownership? DoF and Coaches but not too slowly as time is already of an essence

it will be already end of May by the time this elongated season ends new preseason not that far off

I would be inclined to play it very safe and continue with experience of Big Sam on a rolling one year contract regardless of division we are in.

Totally agree Baz. Stay up or go down we should stick with big Sam. He’s just the kind of strong personality we need to sort our club out. He seems to be good at getting players on his side, but I think he’s the type that can manage up as well.

Big Sam appointed to do a job, keep us up with 4 games to play for a lot of cash. If he doesn’t achieve the goal, don’t even think about appointing him!

El Spagnole so who would be your choice of coach. who is available and would come to Leeds United in championship?

Expect you haven't got any answer to this question

Time is of. an essence too in making decisions?

Depends what league we are in who we appoint and will come. If relegated possible fat Sam but if we stay up. Def not him.

Baz - do you really have such a low opinion of our Club, that we’ll struggle to attract decent options as a potential manager if we go down to the Champ?

Kompany left Anderlecht, the club at which he had started his playing career to go to Burnley in the Champ - and he’s done a pretty decent job in getting them promoted.

Even in the Champ, and even following the last two seasons, Leeds is a more attractive prospect than Burnley, so whoever is in charge shouldn’t have difficulty in finding a range of decent managers willing to come to us. Don’t get me wrong, I do see big Big Sam as an option that should be considered, but I hope the Board will be sounding out other possibilities. Granted, it’s very unlikely the likes of Slot, Areola, etc would come, but it’s equally unlikely Big Sam would be the only one interested.

Any suggestions Clu as to who?

For starters, of those with extensive experience of the Prem/ Champ, Slaven Bilic would probably jump at the chance. Yes his most recent management stint, at Watford, didn’t go well in the end but he is a very reflective coach, and will have been analysing what he could have done better. Nuno Espirito Sancto may well also be looking for a way back into the English game and, having already managed Wolves in the Champ, could be persuaded if convinced of the seriousness of intent to bounce straight back to the Prem.

Among those in the Champ already, Corberan could be persuaded to jump ship when the season is over, as might Jon Dahl Tomasson, whom Leeds and Leicester have been rumoured to be looking at.

There will be quite a number of decent managers outside of the English game who are keen to manage in the Prem, and as opportunities to go straight into that league aren’t often available for those non-elite managers who don’t already have Prem/ Champ experience, entry through promotion with a Champ team can be the best way in.
