Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba Mbacke Dieng, welcome to Leeds! Going to be expensive getting all that onto the back of a shirt, particularly if he's got a high number!
Africans Nations cup winner! Good luck fella!
1.) 01 Sep 2022 18:19:57
Welcome to Nice maybe.
2.) 01 Sep 2022 18:51:31
possibly a bit premature Spanish!
3.) 01 Sep 2022 19:03:02
Nice of them.
4.) 01 Sep 2022 20:44:47
Taking the biscuit George.
20 Jul 2020 10:25:04
Like London buses, no posts for ages and then.
Carlos Corberan, name linked with the Huddersfield job. I'd like him to stay and be part of the premiership coaching team and category one academy team. Don't think a job with Huddersfield offers much for the cv and could easily be out of a job by Christmas. For me, he has been part of our success over The last few years and he deserves to be part of the premiership experience. Hope Bielsa wants him to stay.
1.) 20 Jul 2020 14:28:36
Agreed Spanish. Just posted similar, with out catching up first! Doh!
2.) 20 Jul 2020 17:56:01
Spaniard Could not agree more. It's a downward backward move for CC at this juncture. Radz spoke about aiming for PL stability. Don't see how that's achieved by allowing CC to go. CC shouldn't be allowed to leave until after first season back in PL.
08 Aug 2019 10:11:34
Well guys, I've just got a feeling that today is going to be such a good day that even Wex will be happy! Ok, well perhaps not that good but you never know!
French very tall goalkeeper in, Eddie on his way down the M1 and I think he is an excellent piece of business! Then the Italian Irish connection. Kent would really start to get the champagne opened but the one that might settle a few defensive nerves on here could be Cameron Vickers, perhaps, perhaps something that might have been mentioned during the Clarke negotiations.
If all of that happens, I think it's been an incredible window, first three and it's ok, kent would make it very good!
At least with the cut off at 5pm, we don't even need to think about going to bed!
1.) 08 Aug 2019 10:34:20
Well just read Phil Hay and he is saying Eddie and the French goalie and that’s the lot! He is very rarely wrong and doesn’t normally predict unless his sources are good. Let’s see!
2.) 08 Aug 2019 10:38:15
Spaniard Looks like CCV going elsewhere and according to Phil Hay we're only signing Eddie today and then we're done for the summer window.
3.) 08 Aug 2019 11:07:49
Disappointly think you’re spot on George
Looks like others have done or doing decent business
Scott Carson would have been useful and our “relationship†with Spurs and Poch seems non existent despite the hype.
4.) 08 Aug 2019 11:39:48
Suppose we shouldn’t be surprised
MB wants 18 players plus U23s as required
Roofe and BPF out, two in, job done.
5.) 08 Aug 2019 11:47:40
Scandalous window. Another two loans which will probably only cost a couple of million means that Radz and Orta finish up with around £20million profit while we get a bunch of loan players that may or may not work out for us.
6.) 08 Aug 2019 12:44:42
theres certain positions where it shouldn't be a case of we will wait and see how it goes alf, Basically the spine of the team, and here we are again with that very scenario about to be played out, kiko does be all over the place, and if he is dropped then we WILL be told this new young lad will take time to adjust to UK game, all the while points will be dropped . Fingers Crossed the lad hits the ground at a 1000 mph,
12 Jul 2019 08:04:05
So shaunessy and Pearce not featuring in the two games in any form . Assuming that means thank you and goodnight?
1.) 12 Jul 2019 11:44:04
Spaniard Nessy just isn't good enough. Pearce is but doesn't fit the Bielsa style. He's composed but a tad slow for the system. I'd sell Nessy if a fee can be obtained and loan out Pearce as he could be useful to us in the future.
12 Jul 2019 08:00:36
Ok next up for the gamblers and guessers! Who won't be on the plane to Australia! Sounds like bit of a fight going on with the commercial boys and reported that Bielsa wants to keep the new boys and late returners training hard and not making the trip, including a number from last night. That sounds like a good plan to me. Also assuming no Roberts and Ayling. Perhaps a good idea not to take any CBS as well! Not sure papa Hernandez needs a trip to Australia either. Wonder if there are any good CBS out there who could come back with us?
1.) 12 Jul 2019 11:09:00
Ausman and others over there may know better, but as far as I can tell there are no decent CBs playing for Western Sydney Wanderers (their best appears to be Dylan McGowan, who I would not pick ahead of Struijk) and not even any across the city at their more illustrious neighbours Sydney FC.
2.) 13 Jul 2019 03:28:23
Nobody here good enough.

Well what an amazing weekend in Plymouth. All the leeds fans did us proud, beautiful scenes and wonderful celebrations in the city! Leeds fans in every corner of the city! Had to sit on my hands in the stadium but a privilege to be there. Plymouth great club and I hope they get back out of league one straight away! It's been a very emotional weekend! And I'm actually looking forward to watching the playoffs! Have a great day guys! Enjoy!
1.) 05 May 2025 09:07:52
Thought the way the team played was a disgrace. 1-1 at home already down and they time wasted to try and cost us the leauge. I was delighted when we scored on that fact alone and hope they get relegated again.
Must of been an amazing day by the 11 players on the pitch tried to take the football out of the day.
2.) 05 May 2025 09:45:12
You know what Berma you are spot on re Plymouth and their naff ( literally) pointless timewasting.
3.) 05 May 2025 09:57:14
Glad you enjoyed Spanish. Although we not at our best Plymouth gave us a good game and played well. Would think they will bounce back ?.
4.) 05 May 2025 09:53:37
Bit harsh that bermo. Pretty much top v bottom. What do you expect. They played better than Bristol city.
5.) 05 May 2025 17:47:25
Honestly thought considering the fact s it was a disservice to there fans and a disgrace to the game. They are now officially on my naughty list.
6.) 05 May 2025 21:40:16
You’re 100% bang on it Bermo. They were doing their utmost to try waste time and make sure we didn’t win title. Complete disgraceful approach to the last game of the season, considering they were already relegated. It was paramount to stop Leeds United winning championship. Hopefully they get relegated next season too.
7.) 05 May 2025 22:21:20
I’ll have to watch it back but certainly didn’t feel like that been at the game. I thought for a team already relegated they gave their manager what he wanted a full bloodied and committed fight. As the game went on they were always going to struggle to hold on but I’ve seen a lot worse time wasting at most games st Elland Road. Manager was very complimentary about our team and the two sets of fans had a great battle of the wits throughout the game. Really enjoyed it. Couldn’t have wished for the game to be better scripted!
23 Apr 2025 15:07:52
Afternoon guys! Well, great game, great celebrations! I'm back in Spain after 6 weeks of roller coaster emotions, but happy to have been at the game and outside Elland Road at the moment it was confirmed.
We're back and I do really believe that this time it will be different and the focus on staying there and doing what's needed to stay there will be greater and more effective.
As part of that, I'll post exactly what I posted after Bielsa got us promoted. Getting us up is a different job than keeping us up and establishing us as a Premiership team. So the professional thing to do is make a conscious decision about whether DF is the boards man for the job or are there other better and more suitable candidates!
The board should knew both the good and bad of this year and what really happened in Jan. They will also have a feel for how the squad and Elland road staff feel. Also DF has the experience of two Premier league relegations, so has he learned from this experiences and does he know what he needs to do it differently this time?
That's a non emotional way of dealing with the situation and perhaps has been done already.
What I want is the board to do what it takes to make sure that next year and hopefully for the next few years we can establish ourselves as a premier league club. It's their job to make sure we've got the best possible crack at it. And that job starts now with DF and then the rest of the coaching staff and players.
I spend my UK time between Bristol with my Dad and Leeds with the football. Both great cities. Bristol FC doing a really smart and steady job and like Leeds, the City could really support a premier league club. You just never know!
My final football link is Valencia, where I live in Spain, happy to report that Carlos is doing a sterling job at Valencia. He's taken them out of the relegation places, unbeaten in 8 and looking safe. pleased for him!
1.) 23 Apr 2025 15:54:07
Glad you are well and thriving Spanish. For what its worth I feel that DF must have learned so much from his journey at Leeds, added to his difficult times at Norwich. If he can build on those experiences, good and bad, then I feel that unless you can tempt Fergie, Arsene or Jurgen let's just stick to what we have.
2.) 23 Apr 2025 16:09:57
Its a big call re replacing Farkey. and if so who they identify as a replacement. and who would be available/ agree to come.
My feeling is that Marathe will stick with Farkey. now the Mes issue debacle is over and Leeds are promoted.
3.) 23 Apr 2025 17:25:38
I’ll laugh my nuts off if Meslier is reinstated as our number one next season. ?
It won’t be the first time he’s been dropped then made a come back.
I honestly hope he does, if anything to prove you wrong again, especially with your constant over the top hounding of him, like it’s personal or something.
Go the Mez.
4.) 23 Apr 2025 18:40:23
OP think big man . think of the " bigger picture " fella.
If Mes is reinstated as our number 1 gk . it will hasten increase our likelihood of Relegation.
And Farkey will be out of the LUFC job before Halloween
The Meslier issue all season put the spotlight on Farkeys competence judgement . it is probably one of the reasons Marathe and co are considering their coach options for EPL!
I would be uber delighted if they find a better EPL standard coach than Farkey. we need it!
5.) 23 Apr 2025 19:24:49
Yeah yeah Baz. Farke out.
Only you and crap newspapers want Farke gone.
Meslier’s time out may give him time to address and sort out the things that are not working for him lately.
Players do get over their mistakes and improve and being still a young keeper that can still happen.
I wouldn’t be so cock sure that he’ll be replaced this summer.
6.) 23 Apr 2025 22:04:35
We shouldn’t forget Mess was the No 1 when we were promoted last time and again the season when we finished 9th. Despite everything and even the heroics of Burnley, Leeds have had the most clean sheets over the last two seasons when Mes was No 1.
Personally, I wouldn’t waste money on a keeper for what is likely to be a relegation battle. It goes without saying, the keepers in the relegated three are arguably better than Mes and Darlow…. they still shipped a bag full. Ramsdale behind the Arsenal defence was “world class, ” behind Southampton’s and the Blunts, League One.
7.) 23 Apr 2025 22:22:55
Actually OP MANY others want an upgrade in LUFC coach too including most importantly it seems our owners.
As for Mes he will leave in summer for sure.
{Ed025's Note - can you tell me what DF has done wrong Baz?, gaining Promotion and possibly as champions does not constitute a sackable offence to me mate, if he does get the bullet before a premiership ball is kicked then maybe you will deserve all you get next season..
8.) 23 Apr 2025 22:52:41
Ed025 I think it would be seen more of an upgrade for EPL ( rather than a sackin . we shall soon see what our owners decide.
{Ed025's Note - personally Baz i would see it as DF getting shafted mate, he maybe will be replaced if things dont go to plan and thats fair enough but at least give him the courtesy of trying to see the job though..
9.) 23 Apr 2025 23:10:52
Ed025 so if I may play devils advocate
I recall on here and on the Everton Banter forum you stated you definitely did NOT want Moyesy to replace Dychey.
Moyesy as it turns out has done a very good job this season.
So does that now mean Ed025 you would now honestly be against Everton changing ( ie upgrading) the manager Moyesy for an even BETTER manager this summer?
{Ed025's Note - i did not want Moyes Baz because of his history with us mate, we have been there and done that for me and he was the one who jumped ship not us sacking him so its different, i think DF should be given a chance myself but of course thats just an opinion..
10.) 23 Apr 2025 23:12:12
. and would you Ed025 want Farkey as Everton manager in the EPL?
Honestly?
{Ed025's Note - personally no Baz he would not be high on my list, but then again he has not been our manager and got us promoted mate..
11.) 24 Apr 2025 05:51:01
Baz just wants to confirm his anti Farke agenda which didn’t go to plan because we got promoted.
To fulfill that agenda he just hopes now that he’ll get sacked (not upgraded) before leading his team out on our first game in the Premiership that he made possible.
As Ed has pointed out, "if" we are cut adrift at the bottom of the league by December, then maybe the 49er’s will make a decision as to bring in another coach. There’s no guarantees in football that any coach can beat the drop, that's a fact, no matter who he is.
12.) 24 Apr 2025 09:02:33
Any business should have a good look at its leaders when the market in which they operate changes dramatically! Are they suitable for the new challenge? That’s the job of the board and if they think he is, brilliant, their responsibility! Farke was employed to get us out of the championship, job done but with a few wobbles and a Sheffield United zero point, 3 game week along the way on top of the Meslier indecision! I just want staying with him to be a positive decision rather than keep him because he’s there!
As Meslier was brought up again. I really don’t believe he will be number one when the new season starts and therefore he won’t be at the club and that’s best for both sides. We need a strong, vocal, commanding keeper to lead the defence and it’s just not him.
13.) 24 Apr 2025 12:38:49
Good post Spanish . spot on in this partivular post of yoirs.
10 Mar 2025 06:52:11
The last two games are exactly why no one should have been carried away with the buzz of the big Jan. This leeds squad always has the potential to draw or lose a game 1-0 and that isn't going to change as the season draws to a close and the pressure grows. Regardless of what it looks like on paper, lots of tough games to come and Sheffield and Burnley grinding out results at exactly the right time.
The next week is absolutely crucial in the campaign, Millwall and QPR and both the type of games we could lose! Thank god we still have Sheffield and Burnley to play each other and both to play Coventry, who really wouldn't surprise me if they won the playoffs!
I'm going to the Millwall game and getting nervous already!
1.) 10 Mar 2025 08:47:10
I don’t think anyone in their right mind would think obtaining promotion from the Championship as a given.
It always a battle especially the last five or six games.
I also don’t think that it’s time to panic, there will definitely be plenty of ups and downs and very surprising results as the pressure ramps up and that goes for Burnley and the Blunts. They will not win every game, that I am certain of in this crazy league.
2.) 10 Mar 2025 09:17:33
You’re right Spanish. We actually have an extra 2 points advantage guaranteed on Sheff Utd and Burnley, or 3 points on one of them.
3.) 10 Mar 2025 10:00:26
Yep, they’re grinding the results out, and it wouldn’t be us if we didn’t have a few squeaky bum moments along the way! More confident this season than last tho. Apart from Cov, and each other, they also have to play more teams in the top ten than we do, so possibly more draws and dropped points. The Champo is definitely the toughest league to get out of, but still feel positive we will do it this time!
4.) 10 Mar 2025 10:10:06
Watching the worst ever playoff final last Seez you couldn't help but feel whichever 1 went up would be cannon fodder
Lo and behold Saints are just that
And sadly without HUGE influx we will also be the same
So many of our 11 nowhere near the level required to stay up, Results like yesterdays ain't 1 offs, their more reflective of the limits of our 1st 11,
Just the way it is unless there's massive changes in personnel.
5.) 10 Mar 2025 10:27:06
I think everyone agrees with you on that Chris. An overhaul, over a couple, or likely more windows will be 100% necessary.
6.) 10 Mar 2025 11:01:47
Enjoy the game Spanish, but please no shouting at our manager, the last time you did that, telling him to do his job, Jesse was gone a few weeks later! ?.
7.) 10 Mar 2025 11:26:24
Yes totally agree with that, we would struggle considerably if promoted with this current team as it is and I don’t think there would be anyone under the illusion to think anything different.
Of course we we would be reliant on new recruitments which every promoted club indulges in to survive in the Premiership.
The important thing is as we see with the three that went up it doesn’t always work.
As Bright eludes to, survival of the first season is paramount then the gradual strengthening over the following seasons.
Thats of course if we are promoted which I personally feel we will just edge it.
8.) 10 Mar 2025 11:47:18
Yep true Chris a complete overhaul wpuld be needed and everyone knows that including the Leeds players.
They will need perhaps to be on huge promotion bonuses for motivation
because one wonders what some feel about potentially being replaced/ sold if Leeds were to get promoted.
9.) 10 Mar 2025 13:20:53
Wasn’t that Essex bermo shouting?
10.) 10 Mar 2025 15:32:18
No it was Spanish Aus,
And if I recall it correctly it was captured on film with Jesse complaining the team were afraid and Spanish shouting out “it’s your job to make sure they’re not afraid” something on those lines anyway.
11.) 10 Mar 2025 17:11:43
Yep confess, it was me! Dave LUFC sits on the row in front of me! I went to the West Brom game, if we don’t win on weds, I’ll probably be sent to Fat Frank city by those around me and told not to come back until the season ends!
For a neutral it’s a great battle, for a Leeds fan it is a living hell. We’ve really got to find a way of getting out of here and then Hell 2 - the advanced edition awaits!
12.) 10 Mar 2025 18:30:07
All play off finals are ? involving Leeds Chris!
18 Feb 2025 11:52:28
So pleased for Pascal! Those watching on the TV will have noticed him grinning like the proverbial cat until the pictures finally stopped! I remember him scoring goals like that for the under 23s then and even when he was injured and on crutches he hobbled in with his gf and mum when she was in town, to watch the team play. A great example of the type of player we want to recruit. He's one of the few for the future that really paid off and the longest serving player at the club now I think! Great lad and definitely a bit of a plan B when A isn't working!
1.) 18 Feb 2025 12:32:06
Nice post Spanish mate. Good on him for being Leeds. Seems a decent chap.
But plan b lol. Nope.
08 Feb 2025 14:36:22
Well, best result of the day so far is Sunderland dropping two points at home. Agree with the comments below but thought Chambers did pretty well considering much less expected from him! The others should have been doing more to show the boss they deserve to play more! Their goalie good though and we did miss a penalty! If Sheffield united falter than the Day will end better than it started! League so much more important!
1.) 08 Feb 2025 15:47:08
Would be a real bonus if Portsmouth can get something out of the Blades:)
2.) 08 Feb 2025 16:02:49
Definitely Spanish. If we can beat Watford, then Sunderland next Monday I don’t think we’ll have to worry about them anymore.
3.) 08 Feb 2025 16:06:47
I agree Spanish and well thought out post as normal however
Normally a penalty is missed but today that penalty was saved… as a keeper there is a difference.
4.) 08 Feb 2025 17:54:08
I didn’t think it was a bad penalty but I watched it live and haven’t yet seen a replay.
27 Apr 2025 09:34:02
It actually could have a very positive effect on the team. If Farke has the dressing room what better endorsement than to romp the last two matches for the boss and secure the title!
He still think people are making too much of the fact it’s being considered. As people have stated, each of the players will be reviewed in the same why and some ditched because they can’t make the jump. Why should it be any different with the coaching team? If changing coach now avoided the need to ditch one after 15 games that would be extremely good management and that’s what they should consider.
24 Jul 2023 07:05:48
Not sure any outs at the moment are a bad thing, new coaching team, new league, clear what the challenge will be, if you don’t fancy it, better to go now! Assuming Farke is looking at the players and making it clear to them who he really wants to keep, if they don’t want to stay after that, so long, farewell etc etc!
19 Jul 2023 11:19:32
What does pushing mean and who said! However who wouldn’t say yes to an offer to play in the worlds best league and for more money, not much pushing required for most people! If premier league clubs want them then can’t see them having to push at all! Can’t see any of that list pushing to go to another club in the championship!
23 May 2023 18:33:44
I think things are coming to a head in Italy and Sampdoria needs help urgently to avoid sanctions and points reductions. I don’t see what’s wrong with him sorting out his next football interest particularly if it helps clarify what’s going on with Leeds. Not impossible to have interests in both clubs though is it? The owner of Brentford has a club in Denmark as well no?
21 Feb 2023 13:50:11
If it’s true I like a short term contract, very focused job that changes in the summer. Good luck to him, get working tomorrow!
09 Jul 2025 17:35:28
I know it can be annoying but also a sign of how popular we are! Need to get used to it if we want to continue the upward trend!
09 Jul 2025 17:25:35
Recruitment over the last two years has been solid, no disasters and some gems! So far so good for me. Solid buys with a clear plan and the defensive side of the team largely in place minus a key keeper and still some money to splash on the exciting areas. Byram a good addition! And Bamford looks like he is doing everything he can to make an impact. Lost Webber and Firpo so far largely as expected. I think we’re building a sensible premiership squad with perhaps a few gems missing but some cash to buy them with!
08 Jul 2025 22:52:44
I think we’re building well, good value and sensible additions that strengthen the team and the back of the team. Don’t think we will get Munoz or iz, someone else will come out of the shadows, probably a better buy! GK is the next key addition for me, we have attacking options but no real premier league keeper, so that’s the key!
07 Jul 2025 08:37:13
How many transfer errors have we made in the last two years? Cautious often unexpected buys brought in for the right reasons that have improved the squad whilst enhancing and building the team spirit and unity. It’s not easy to keep doing that particularly with the premier league spoils easy to smell. Nice to have left back and goalkeeper sorted next, then the defensive spine of the squad is in place. Patience and trust for a bit longer!
22 May 2025 05:55:06
It’s interesting watching those two teams and their league positions. Shows what a good job the Brightons, Brentford, Bournemouth and even Fulham are doing. It’s obviously about money but not just, it really is about spending it wisely and getting players that gel and work collectively! It’s going to be a fascinating summer and season!
