Ger of The View saying the Charles deal is done.

But conflicting reports elsewhere saying Leeds' 3rd offer has yet to receive a response.

Leeds United have certainly had too many elongated, endless transfer sagas over the past 4 or 5 seasons, always leading nowhere. Often involving unattainable players in CDK, Paxo, Strand Larsen, Rodrigo de Paul, etc.

Leeds never used to have these transfer sagas in the past, and we often shopped for realistic targets.

I do recall the great Tony Yeboah signing took a bit of time, but few other sagas, and even a surprise signing in Rio Ferdinand was completed quickly from the Hammers.

I hope Leeds United's recruitment team spends more time now on seemingly more attainable, and, importantly, far more useful targets than SC.

Fao: BV 4, I think he is an important target myself, a player we have chased for a while, given Gruev has a year left on his contract, and Longstaff won't be happy with his time on the field last year. Could see either departing.

Yes, Frogmax, but.

SC would cost £25 to £30 million of our limited budget..

No EPL teams were in for Longstaff last season, and certainly not at £15 million we paid, so cant see him leaving.

Gruev could possibly go on a free or a very small transfer, but better to keep him as a squad player for the final year, imo.

Leeds defo have far more pressing recruitment, imo.

1 possibly 2 gks
1 cf
1 cd
1 rb
1 lb

48 days left of summer transfer window, not long.

Aimo.

Baz, I get your point, mate, but nobody in the media, and certainly nobody on here, knows what the transfer budget is.

Yes, it was rumoured to be £80m + money from sales.

I can't see the 9ers blasting £25+ on SC.
£30 on a keeper & £36m on the CB.

Around £90m, and if we believe the media, that's budget basically gone given the £80m + £18m from Pascal.

We know we also need, possibly, another CB, LB, along with a back up keeper & another striker, and a possible atm.

The math ain't mathing, as the yanks would say.

Yep indeed, Dave. The math aint mathing.

Don't think we need a right back.

Don't think we really need a cb. We got 3 and amps.

Sell a few of the deadwood, get a few bob, save on their extortionate salary, maybe we can afford some reasonably priced players.

We do know what the budget is because the 9ers released it to shareholders last year. It may have changed slightly, but I think it will be there or thereabouts.

Corkey, we will defo need a better defensive RB and LB. Farke very unwisely reverts back to 442.

OB, hopefully sell some players, but there are issues.

Gnonto on 50% sell-on clause for his previous club.

Some peeps want DJ and Harrison sold, but few suitors, if any, for sales, esp with their very high wages and 2 or 3 more years of contract.

Perri and Largie only wanted on loan, it seems.

Longstaff, if sold, would be at a considerable loss.

Gruev, Borneau and Wober could go for small fees.

Tanaka could defo go at a good profit.

BA will likely go if no new contract is signed, but transfer fee likely no more than £8 million imo.

Baz, we have JJ and Bogle. No way on earth are we buying another RB. It's probably our strongest position?
