Port Vale next and then Southampton in the semi final would be nice?
Seriously though a very professional performance today with some good performances from the back ups.
Longstaff although I’m not a big fan was very effective.
Tanaka not at his previous best but is getting there I thought.
Nmecha was excellent and deserved a goal.
Piroe has some good moments and then done what he does and scores a Piroe type goal.
Even Perri distribution was good!
Anyone who says we don’t have good options off the bench or even to start games is way off.
Oh and James n Gnonto were decent too.

We were playing against a bottom half Championship team who were rubbish in the first half.

??? I was waiting for this exact reply from you, OP.
Norwich have gone from bottom three all season to having a chance of the playoffs, having won 8/10 previous games.
You should give credit to our starters today instead of basically saying they were playing lower Championship level.

Well, I liked it, Corkster. ?

Norwich are enjoying a good run of form, but seriously, they are nowhere near EPL quality. We know we have good options for the Championship, but the Premier League is a vastly different league in more ways than one.

Port Vale next might be possible, Corkey, but Southampton are not very likely to get to the semis, looking at the list of likely quarter-final opponents they could face.

It's the Cup and the beauty of the Cup is anyone can beat anyone.
Who mentioned Norwich being EPL quality?

Barring the odd cross, I thought DJ was cack!? When you say Tanaka is "getting there", I'm assuming you mean "to the bench", coz he'd still get battered on that performance vs experienced PL players.
Defo not a starter.
Longstaff looked like what we paid for, and I guess was hooked to ease him back carefully; he could be crucial for the run in, and might be used to replace Gruev. That would be a dynamic MF then!

I think it was a good run out for those fringe players, but, to be honest, they would still be bench players, in my opinion, apart from Bijol.
Having said that, they all contribute and are part of the cause.
Norwich are a vastly improved team under Clement, but they were a little shell shocked in that first half and made it quite easy for us.
It was a good performance by us, but there were a lot of misplaced passes that would have been severely punished in the Premiership.
It's great for the confidence of the whole team, and whoever thinks it was not important to win this Cup game would be, in my opinion, very wrong.

I get what you're saying, OP, but surely Nmecha, Longstaff and Willie are pushing for starts as well as Bijol?
I don't agree with Daniel Farke playing two holding midfielders at home, so that's negative. Leave Gruev out, and play Nmecha and maybe Gnonto for Aaronson.

I'm gonna be daring, and say it: Gnonto doesn't offer the same benefits that Brendan gives us. ??
