Our negotiating team seems to fail in 99% of outgoing transfers, I just don’t see how they can be incompetent. ??

Do they? Summerville, Rutter, Gray, Sinisterra and Struijk say otherwise. All sold for way more than they cost.

Even Joe Gelhardt went for more than 6 x what he cost.

Probably the other clubs are strapped for cash, and reluctant to lay out a large sum on (to them) an unknown quantity, and use loans as a sort of "try before you buy".
