Very early doors but impressions from that Arsenal game. Coventry as a whole won't be judged on the Emirates, obviously, but:

Avoiding £20m+ on Rushworth looks good. We paid nearly double for Trafford. But hopefully we get what we pay for.

£9m for Awoniyi is a steal.

He held up the ball exceptionally a couple of times including a right battle with Gabriel. Easy to say in hindsight but maybe at that price or even a hair more maybe we should have been in for him as the backup profile to Dominic Calvert Lewin.

We don't back up DCL. We want someone better, and that's no disrespect to DCL, who I like a lot and has done bloody marvellous, but you signing s to push n, I mean push players, but they're hard to find.

It's not easy finding players who can put the ball in the net, who are very sharp in and around the box. Not come onnnnnnnn. Leeds today, focused and switched on. ? No ball watching.

Agree, Mally. Need a starter striker, or at the very least equivalent to DCL. I bet Baz bottom coin that DCL is out injured by game 5.

I agree in principle that of course we'd want an improvement on DCL. But, I think, where the money's gone indicates that we've prioritised GK, CB, and a creator profile (Wilson) . Financially, not everything can be accomplished in one window or even a season. Even DCL himself was a free agent. I don't see a likely improvement being available this window for.

Agree with all those who want a new striker who's at least on a par with Dcl. We can't end up playing the likes of Dan James in that position if Dcl and Nmecha are both injured at the same time.
