Think Boro game has the potential to be our sternest test at home to date.

And whilst I am sorry Firpo sustained an injury Iโ€™m much happier of Wober up against the excellent Doak who has been terrorising full backs in this league and for Scotland this season, some prospect Liverpool have there.

Felt a little sorry for Dan James on Saturday as although he made numerous runs Bogle often delays the pass, which results in the full being able to stick closer to James, then when he finally receives it the cross (DJs biggest area for improvement) is blocked.

Bogle is more skilful than say Ayling or Sam Byram heโ€™s not as good as he sometimes believes he is and I wish he mixed it up more and played DJ in over the top, as few of any can catch a flying DJ in this league.

Good win in horrendous conditions though and I think we looked stronger better balanced with Wober on the pitch, great to see Amps back in the squad also.

Rothwell immense I thought.

Nervous of Boro match

I am going for an optimistic Leeds 2 vs Boro 1 final score

DJ . and then Pascal from a corner

But we definitely need to play very well to win.

Went to the game yesterday and just thought I'd share some observations particularly on points that are often not as obvious on TV. It was a truly miserable day with a gale blowing against us in H1 so allowances have to be made for how we played. Also Derby were utterly clueless and couldn't even get close enough to kick our boys. The 36k crowd were in good spirits initially but quickly turned to moaning as we failed to have a shot on target for 30mins. We must have recruited lots of Arsenal fans! We play at a truly pedestrian pace that's so easy to close down. There seems to be a very rigid pattern of play and nobody seems to be prepared to play what they see in front of them. Maybe suggests over coaching or lack of leadership on the pitch. It was no surprise that our scorers were 2 defenders. I don't think our forwards would have scored if they were out there for days and we have good forwards. I'd cut Piroe some slack as he got no service. He kept making those runs for the ball to be played through or over and that ball was never played. In the first half most of the play came down DJ's wing then in the second it was obvious the instruction had been given to get Solomon more involved so he saw lots of ball, without doing much with it, even when DJ was perhaps better placed which goes back to my earlier point. It was good to see MJ come on and he brought something a bit different to the attack. Mel Sterland and Paul Reaney were both in attendance so inevitably I looked closely at Bogle. He worries me. He doesn't look like he knows what's expected of him. He gets caught out of position frequently. Sterland is a few pounds heavier these days but Reaney is still strong and trim at 80. Just seeing him there was worth the ticket. In the warm up and at down times it was interesting to see Bamford cajoling and rallying the players. He probably knew he was unlikely to feature but he was certainly all in for the team. You could see him working to relax them all, particularly the younger guys like Gnonto who seem to really respect him. Also good to see Ampadu on the bench even if he didn't feature. Rothwell had a strong game as did Tanaka. Firpo was unfortunate but Wober was a big improvement when he replaced him. Again you could see him demanding the ball from players and dishing it out when they made poor choices. Meslier hardly touched to ball so couldn't make any comment on him. Aaronson worked his socks off closing down but for all his effort he's not up to the role of playmaker which we badly need. My overall sense is that this is a very tense squad with perhaps a greater fear of losing than a desire to win. DF needs to inject some joy into the club.

Great review 6p! Ta for sharing a pitch side perspective!

Interesting comments Sixpence.

Paul Reaney our best RB ever by far ; looking superbly fit, in tip top shape at 80. What an inpiration he is to us all!

Looks like thereโ€™s going to be a lot of ranting and moaning on here until next weekend, a game in which I expect us to win and who knows could be back on top again.
Tissues are on the house Baz.

Very predictable innit. As will be the tune change when we hit a winning run, home and away. Were we poor yesterday? Damn right we were. It happens. We move on.

01 Dec 2024 16:41:15
Just to re enlighten you I am always delighted as ever when we win ; hate losing.

Sadly ' predictable' was yesterdays result and performance. deja vu

01 Dec 2024 16:41:49
. and save dem tissues for Woodster.

08 Dec 2024 19:26:42
Up yours Baz! Save them tissues for your bloody nose for when we are top again or more likely for when somebody sticks one on the end of your patronising, self indulgent, pedantic and pompous nose! ๐Ÿ˜.

08 Dec 2024 21:17:03
Ease off on your and OP misrepresentations Woodster

As ever I will be frigging delighted if / when LUFC actually get promoted from Champo. not just being temporarily top like you.

Former Leeds United striker Chris Wood banging in goals again for Forest tonight.

Forest up to an impressive 5th on EPL!

Chris Wood already 7 goals this season ( 40 appearances 21 goals in all for Forest) . Leeds last natural goalscorer?

And great job by Nuno as Forest coach ; I was banging on about wanting Nuno to replace Jesse Marsch . wish he had!

Indeed Georgey. Wood and Forest have had a great start to season.

Saw reports the goalie made 2 errors for our goals. Think more like a good shot from both lads. Saw report arronson couldn't miss. Bit unfair on the lad. It was a good finish. Should have had more. Missed some sitters. Only saw highlights.

Mackems seem to have borrowed the tractor's luck from last season so far this year and especially in the last 2 games. Surely things can't continue to go like that for them for the season can they?

After fabulous victory over Sheff Utd Cuppa, for me it was tempered a tad by both Burnley and Sunderland winning.

Leeds United really should be top of Champo after 10 matches but have been careless dtopping points

Step it up lads . 5 wins in a row please.
