I have a feeling Gerrard could be waiting in the wings and the job was mooted when he was in for the Rangers vacancy. Assume he would bring Gary Mac as a number 2.

I do hope not Cumbrian. Gerrard simply can't cut it as a manager - even with the success he bought to Rangers. Let's face it, next doors cat could do a half decent job at Celtic or Rangers, there's no competition up there but down in the prem it's a totally different story. He couldn't hack it at the Villa yet Emery comes in and transformed the same players into a winning outfit.

Stevie G may well be on the lookout for a new nanagerial post, but what on earth would lead him to think that the Leeds job is likely to become available, certainly not the random musings of a small number of Leeds fans on this forum! If/ when there is a vacancy, I'd hope we could aim a little higher than that.

I'm sure I read earlier in the summer that Farke is a huge fan of Rasmus Hojland so I just wonder if the club are quietly trying to put together an offer now it looks likely Sesko is joining **** and our chasing of Muniz looks very unlikely now due to Atlanta (and possibly Newcastle) trying to sign him.
Rasmus was very poor for them but did come with huge potential and has got two years experience in the PL so not sure how I'd feel if we did get him.
I suppose the price we pick him up for and how well he performs from the outset would shape that opinion.

I don't think Newcastle are in for Muniz and will have higher targets in mind if they think Isak is on the move. It will be his agent or Fulham fabricating stories to try crank the price up.
I have faith we will continue our considered approach and research targets and have a set limit. A striker is a key position but we have to remember lots of clubs need the same thing and the selling clubs are not going to let them go without a fight or haggling for fees way higher than the players are potentially worth.

As disappointing as the Igor news is we need to remember he was going to be injured for the first 4-6 weeks plus it's crystal clear his preference was CL and plying for DeZerbi.
We cannot blame the 49'rs and in many ways the fact we were so close to bagging him was down to their powers and the financial backing they give us.

Solomon may be seen as a real come down option but if we do bring him back he should be able to slot in seamlessly.

Hopefully we have been secretly working on other deals for a LW that can make us equally excited though.

Sadly it looks like we’ve just been used by Igor’s agent to help push Marseille to fork our sufficient money to satisfy Feyenoord and so get the player the move he wanted.

It’s to be hoped our second/ third choices are still available and we’re in a position to move asap, so they’re not snapped up by rivals in Prem. Looks like Guessand may be about to go to Palace - who knows whether we were truly interested in him, but he’d have been a great option across the front line.

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. Let's hope the likes of Ampadu, Boyle, Rodon etc. can offer the same welcome to Igor and Muniz at ER very soon ?.
There is now talk Roma are in the running for Igor but wonder if this is a tactic by Feyenord to push up the asking price?
I imagine we will have a ceiling price and if the deal looks to be getting away from us or the chips are not stacked in our favour we will pull away and either watch it from afar or mo e to plan B.
I was just very encouraged to hear whispers from the scouting team on this site 48 hours ago saying this deal alongside Perri were all sorted. It looks like Perri is over the line so ? the same is the case with Igor (and hopefully Muniz) as this would be the transfer window of all transfer windows when it comes to a newly promoted club when you also take into account the team we already have.

Leeds are surely in the driving seat with that one because what Leeds have offered is pretty big and Roma can’t afford the same deal or compete with us so Leeds have put a 35million bid in and just sitting on the fence now knowing they can t compete.
