Slightly concerned. Need the 3 today. Others seem to be getting results. Villa and QPR off the boil. Was hoping these would help us out. Hudders luck due to expire, (when they play Fulham) . Do not want it to go to wire. let's get the 3 today.

When we played Newcastle they caused plenty of problems in the second half by pressing and making it tough to play out from the back. Palace didn't pick up on that and made it easy. Arsenal did and we couldn't cope without Philips. Really hard for any goalie without just booting upfield and setting them up. Suspect others will do the same, but sure Bielsa will be able to counter this in future. Think where we are with our injuries and mostly last years mainstays is impressive.

1.) 14 Feb 2021 20:20:59
Struijk is no replacement for Kalvin. Past games should have told Bielsa that but he is so stubborn he just refuses to be wrong. Don't get me wrong I love Struijk, as a Centre Back.

2.) 14 Feb 2021 20:40:38
I am the first to admit that phillips was a big loss in a game like today however missing phillips is no real excuse we have proven a lot that we can win without him

before jumping on me consider three things

lets be honest phillips ain't a great defensive player (our goals against prove this) so we would of defended better with him. probably not

he is a great asset moving forward but yet we still scored twice today so we can create without him

once ailing went to right back we played better

so yes today losing phillips was a blow but it was still a game we could of won but it was not helped by our manager going mental and playing everyone in the wrong position

again belisa is great but when push comes to shove can he make the changes to get the win?

3.) 14 Feb 2021 21:17:17
Berm our goals against nothing about Phillip's, it's a team game. You say Meslier is world class but our goals against says otherwise.
Completely agree we should not be dependent on one player and should be able to replace anyone. Yes we won't be 100% but shouldn't be at 50%.
For me the answer is obvious but Bielsa cannot agree and my answer is Shackleton. Why change multiple players positions when a like for like is available.

4.) 14 Feb 2021 21:41:47
Llorente can play DM, when he’s fit.

5.) 14 Feb 2021 21:49:46
If he's ever fit. Let's hope!

6.) 14 Feb 2021 22:15:38
Canada you say it ain't down to one player (which I agree with) then put it on messier which would insist it can be about a player?

of course our goals against it not just down to phillips but as a DM it would suggest that the D part of his position is maybe not that strong (as for the keeper he is world class just the sheer weight of chances against makes it impossible for him to stop, hence the amount of saves and MOTM he has won)

our goals against and poor defending is 100% down to the manager. it is his fault. now with our amazing style we will be open I can accept that. what I can't accept is playing everyone out of position, bad set plays and keep playing it back to keeper

to be open due to style is a choice. being open due to the other reasons is just stupidity which for all his greatness belisa also has stupidly in abundance

I do agree the answer to phillips not playing is shacks. I even think against some teams shacks is a better option to Phillips as he offers a bit more mobility and defensive cover. but hey what do I know I would also play ailing at right back and struijk at CB so clearly the manager knows more than me.

7.) 14 Feb 2021 22:31:53
Berm I didn't put it on Meslier, I used your own words to do to someone you rate what you did to Phillip's
You used our stats to say Phillip's can't defend I just used the same reasoning to call you out!
Meslier is doing very well for his age. Yes he screwed up today but I'm happy with him in general.
I agree our style is the issue and it asks our DM to do more than any other DM in the league.
Fortunately we have one of the best when fit, but don't seem to have a suitable backup as yet for when he isn't fit.

8.) 14 Feb 2021 23:03:13
Phillips is one of our best players and an England international. Do many teams not in the top 4 have a replacement of a high standard?

Can Tottenham replace Kane?
Can foxes replace vardy?
Place replace zaha?
Villa replace grealish?
Southampton replace ings?

You get my point, we’ve just been promoted back to the premier league is obvious we don’t have 11 premier league standard players and have 11 premier standard back ups just Incase.

9.) 15 Feb 2021 07:43:48
DM is a difficult position to cover, to have another player to cover for KP with the the same quality would be a very big ask. Ben White did a reasonable job covering for KP and I think the eyes were on Llorente when bought to be the cover for KP when injured or suspended.

Looking at the table it seems the top dogs with their superior squads are pulling away. The bottom half including us are going to struggle against these. Lower and the mid table sides will probably get points from each other. Fulham who seem to be in some form and baggies need four wins and will still be behind us. It appears to me that there won't be enough games left to close that gap. in the end our points in hand will beat those in the bush . Little threat of relegation this year. I think with our squad and key injuries we have more than achieved so far this season.

1.) 21 Jan 2021 16:51:44
Yes Whitesee indeed
And it was such an interesting / refreshing start to the season when the top teams such as Man U, Arsenal even Man City were faltering giving other teams a chance to shine.

11 Jan 2021 14:55:16
U 23s looking impressive today. So many looking good. Hard to pick a standout. Hope they can keep it second half.

1.) 11 Jan 2021 16:03:09
That was a great watch some fab performances and brilliant football at times in a 4-1 win nice hatrick from Jimmy Summerville) too.

2.) 11 Jan 2021 18:20:28
Be nice to see some of these great prospect make the first team soon.

3.) 11 Jan 2021 18:52:27
We are in the 2nd division of the U23 league. Our youngsters are doing well at that level.

We have just seen the step up needed even for League 2.

Can we not just allow them the develop rather than make each one the second coming.

4.) 11 Jan 2021 19:06:59
I agree Axe, it's something about the English psyche. National team, two wins and we are World up favourites. Maybe so desperate for success and many a dreamer. I think Crawley showed that there is still a lot of learning to do and the step up is one giant leap for mankind. Let's stop, take a deep breath and wait for our young guns to slowly learn their trade.
Obviously there is the chance that one will will push thro, grab his chance and take the Prem by storm but that is a rarity and a huge, huge bonus.

5.) 11 Jan 2021 19:31:46
I still think that the U23s as a full team would have beaten Crawley but mixing and matching is much tougher.

6.) 11 Jan 2021 22:34:27
Alf, whilst agreeing with your idea that a purely U23 team would have probably put up a more cohesive display against Crawley, I can't get past the fact that Crawley were a team of men whilst our U23s are still growing both physically and mentally. They would just not have been strong enough.
That is not me being harsh on those lads, if they were ready for League 2 standard football then they would all be out on loan at the moment getting experience. As it is only the top ones from last year (Gotts, Stevens, McAlmont and Edmondson) have been loaned out so far.

07 Jan 2021 15:09:26
Looking at the bookies relegation odds . Outside bottom 3 Brighton 7/ 2,Burnley 7/ 2,Newcastle 4/ 1,Palace 11/ 1,LEEDS 40/ 1.Suggests we are no way near in danger, as some seem to think whenever we lose to a top side. Of course we already know that.

1.) 07 Jan 2021 15:30:26
Yeah those odds suggest. that Whitesee.

2.) 07 Jan 2021 17:12:43
We won’t be going down, I’m sure of that, but won’t be placing a tattoo bet.

3.) 07 Jan 2021 18:09:45
Pointless making tattoo bets bright, they just get welched on.

4.) 07 Jan 2021 18:25:04
No idea what you lot are on about.

5.) 07 Jan 2021 19:35:29
Martyn Think that issue is well and truly in the rear view mirror now. Berm credibility destroyed as a result. However, we do have another such bet to look forward to. Baz posted he'd run down the street naked if we sign Erling Haaland. I intend to petition Radz in order to make this happen. Regardless, I think there's a good chance of it occurring anyway.

6.) 07 Jan 2021 20:25:50
George for goodness sake I can't imagine Baz is much to look at and if it happens in the January window with the current weather there probably won't be much to see anyway!

7.) 07 Jan 2021 20:35:53
Good luck Georgey with the petition to Radz 😃
May I also suggest you have a word with Whiteman re this petition because he and Radz are according to Whitey very good buddies and Whitey is in the know! 😃

And don't worry Georgey, unlike Berm, I don't welch on my bets😉

However, I am 100% content and sure Georgey, that my meat and 2 veg shall remain clothed, my modesty preserved, as your predictions never ever come true lol 🤪

We are still for instance awaiting the 'imminent signing ' of your 'sure thing 'prediction of unproven fairly raw Che Adams from last Jan window

so what on earth chance of the superstar real deal Erling Haaland signing for Leeds ahead of say the much, much more likely Bayern Munich? 😊.

8.) 08 Jan 2021 03:35:59
1970 You're right. Can't imagine many vinegary can't let it go octogenarians are worth a look.

9.) 08 Jan 2021 03:37:58
Baz In that case I wish you fine health and an incessant posting record hereon out.

10.) 08 Jan 2021 04:41:35
1970 lol well I was a looker i'm my youth lol at least that's what my wife tells me. 😃

Georgey lol thanks and you're welcome;
and I shall do my best re posting as I know it thoroughly pleases you! 😂

Oh yes and Good luck with Erland!

02 Jan 2021 17:53:49
Looking at the Villa banter, there are Bielsa jibes that would be mildly amusing to a 12 year old. I mistakenly thought it was adults that posted on these sites.

1.) 02 Jan 2021 18:15:01
Sorry mate serves you right for stouping so low. go to idiot sites. read idiotic views!

If there page was so god how comes a lot of them prefer it here with us?

2.) 02 Jan 2021 18:25:55
Vile by name vile by nature.

3.) 02 Jan 2021 20:18:26
I would of thought ye had more to worry about after another lesson from a top team.

4.) 02 Jan 2021 21:36:37
Yes we got a lesson, but we gave you one so you can't be a top team haha.

5.) 02 Jan 2021 22:21:56
Waccy Baccy we thrashed your Vile 3 nil. End of .

6.) 03 Jan 2021 01:57:11
Yep u beat us fair and square Canada white ye are a good team we’re just better and more consistent that’s why we only got 1 lesson this year and I’ll take that over getting 1 every other week. Long way to go but I’m confident that we will finish well above Leeds this year and if we get a player or 2 in January we will grab a European spot. if ye finish higher than us I’ll pay 1 last visit and eat some humble pie and I won’t ever post on here again, until then your stuck with me lol👊.

7.) 03 Jan 2021 11:29:21
Post or don't post Whack, not really bothered either way.

But we still have a chance. Fulham and Wed might lose points. One of these have to depend on us dropping points. Still in our hands.

Could we see history be repeated. A bad no goal call for the blunts probably kept villa in the prem. This outrageous non penalty call again for the blunts could well keep Fulham in the prem too.

Doubt Bubs wants the prima donna's who might be reluctant to participate in his training regime either.

Why on earth would we sell Raphinha for a profit however large. Its a tough game signing players that good. Sell the success story and you are left with the disappointing ones who you can't offload. With a vast profit you would be held to ransom and have to gamble for replacements. His current form is for sure down to him being here, either our style of play suiting, or us improving him. Couldn't have been this good at Rennes or we would never have got him for that price. I'm assuming/ hoping the story is all paper talk.
