Some reports about this morning that Brandt is preparing for a move to the EPL. As far as I know we are the only club that have made a contract offer to him.

Seems no European teams have made serious efforts to get him. Might be his demands re a signing on fee and wages are too high for them.

He's definitely been speaking to a few clubs that are in Europe. We have offered a fairly decent wage packet, though, by all accounts, so maybe that will end up being telling.

I may be wrong here, but wasn't he hoping to find a new club in the Champions League?

He has, just with a one year delay. ?

Too old. Move on.

Depends on his leadership skills on whether he is "too old" for me. If the desire is there, regardless of age, I'd take him. But if it's not, then I'd move on too.

Certainly not the usual profile that the 9ers look at, but possibly willing to make an exception due to it being a free. I think this is more one that Farke will be driving, as he is a huge fan and has a history with Jurgen Brandt, I believe.

Tell me, was Granit Xhaka too old last season?

Wanted to go to Spain as his partner has a home there. But the top clubs are not interested, and the rest haven't got the kind of wages to offer.

100K a week is 16 million or so over a 3-year contract, so hardly unaffordable. Probably have a signing fee on top, and have to accept little or no resale value.

Most clubs, other than the elite, are always looking at how they can add value to a player when they sign them now, so likely an additional off-putting reason. Be a great signing even for a year.
