Florian Pletenberg reporting this morning that Zetterer deal is no problem between the clubs, it’s down to the player, he’s expected to make a decision in 48hr.
Move on, Leeds. He’s already had 2 weeks to decide.
48hr is Sunday, for me that’s too late for what should be a pretty easy position to get filled.

100%, mate. Are we too soft or what?

Tell him to shove it.

There's a PJ from Frankfurt today. How could he move until we sold Perri? Patience, gents.

Been watching the PJs like a hawk. That's definitely a newly added plane in the last 1-2 hours from Frankfurt. It would very likely be him.

Did say weeks ago that Zetterer would very unlikely join Leeds United.

Plettenberg is behind the times, Zetterer is literally in Leeds right now.
Baz, wrong as usual.

Baz, you also said we wouldn't be signing Trafford. Are your instincts a bit ropey when it comes to goalkeepers?

Not at all, as usual, TheLeedsITK.. but, hey ho, re Zetterer.
Still very surprised that he has agreed to go from being a number 1 to being a permanent bench warmer. There's no way on earth he is displacing Jimmy Trafford (besides injury) .

JR, Leeds should have offered the very dependable Karl Darlow the number 1 gig and a 2 or 3 year contract.. increased his salary too.
Trafford is a very good keeper, but Leeds have spent an inordinate amount on transfer fee and wages, which very likely has impacted on our ability to sign a class striker and other positions which needed filling.

Itk, wasn't Zetterer here last week as well? ?♂️
I guess you've seen him given your confidence that he's here.
I actually hope you're correct and he is here to sign.
Maybe then we can get the other 3 we need done.

I agree re Darlow, but don't think keeping him as No 1 and getting a new No 2 was ever likely, and he knew he was going to be No 2 if he stayed, whoever we got in. More significant to me is that with Zetterer leaving, Frankfurt are signing a new keeper, Noah Atubolu, from Freiburg, who is seen in Germany as the national team's next No 1 after Neuer, just as Trafford is to Pickford here.
The difference is that Trafford cost us £40M, whereas Atubolu is signing for Frankfurt on a season long loan with a EUR15M buy obligation in a year's time. We could have signed him instead and had about £27M to play with on other new signings - LWB, LW, 10 or 9 etc. I know which option I'd have chosen.

Post of the day, JR. Great points.

Agree, JR. We've spent well on defenders in Gary and Elvedi, but we could have brought in a cheaper goalkeeping alternative. Other clubs have, both this and last season, and the Freiburg keeper was mentioned as a possible target early in the window.
The lack of a third striker and probably cover at LB is certainly a concern. We might be lucky again and get through the campaign without DCL or Nmecha being injured, but I think it's a risk not worth taking.

Logical, rational points, Dune.

A good GK is as good as a good striker, and can save as many points.
Leeds have prioritised not conceding over scoring. If we survive, we can look at the offence next year.
I wish we would get someone, though.

Agree. It would certainly calm the nerves, LLFan, if we did get a third striker in.
