Got stuck in to ripping carpets up and painting straight after football this morning so first chance to post.
Great 3 points. A good start to the season. Hopefully seal another 3 points v palace who won't be looking forward to playing us. Thought we'd beat toon but not that easily. Bit of a tweak to the formation with a 5-3-2. Lot more solid but it means generally only 1 of oks, Wilson, ba or dj can play. With tanaka, Bogle, Justin and Okafor all able to get at them I prefer that system. Justin and Bogle on same side is a joy to watch.
Awesome attacking ability. Let's hope that was a blip for Trafford as his first few games there was no faffing about like today. Hope the coaches don't teach them that crap. ?
A good shift from Gary again and credit to dcl for getting at them. Bit too tippy tappy passing back still for my liking but hey, still got 4 goals.
Not sure how that wasn't a hand ball penalty but anyway. Strange decision. Be nice to go into break with back to back wins. Still early days so steady as she goes.

Can't wait for the palace game myself.
Henderson, riad injured, disasi suspended (he was very good at west ham second half of last season) . They have Europe on Thursday. They can't afford any more injuries already a bit like villa and Newcastle.
My slight worry is that strand Larsen is gaining a bit of momentum scoring in the cup and league back to back. Or I should say ordinarily. I feel like I trust muharemovic to take him on one v 1 and elvedi too.
If we are 11 points after 5 games it makes Arsenal and Manchester United true free hits. And id fancy our chances Vs united as things stand anyway.

DCL edges my man of match but agree Aus.Bogle and Justin had phenomenal games and a great combination on the right last night.
Last nights win now puts Leeds United record in EPL under Farke as follows

To be fair that's solid.and particularly strong in 2026 compared to 2025 due to the formation change of 3 CBs.

Do we see a significant change in the management and recruitment or not, I do.
Does this still ciment the conviction of some fans that he is not good enough for Leeds and should be sacked at the end of this season
Or do we wait until one of the big clubs finally realize that Farke is too good for Leeds and come calling.
Genuine question here and not a childish one !
Please don't dodge around it.
It's a very serious question for the future of our club because there are quite a number of Leeds fans and they're not just on this forum, two still won't accept Daniel Farke as our manager.

Who realistically would you think leeds can get in as boss at this time ? Not a trick question but I'm genuinely interested. For me Farke is on a upwards trajection. Is proving better than Bielsa and other managers we have had recently, so I personally don't get the Farke negativity. And God forbid we lose a game, people are waiting to Farke bash.

Farke is learning as he goes. Stumbled upon a plan that has worked. And he has tweaked that plan a bit too which is good. He adjust formation and is finally not starting ba or James which is a bonus. It's been a reasonable start. Let's not forget being thumped by Chelsie and bossed by Brentford first half.
For me at this very early stage of the season it's been a 7/10. Realistically have to give Farke more time. I don't think any of the supposed top 6 will ever want Farke but some mid table teams with a bigger budget might.

49 are in your group they questioned him last season and are still holding out on a contract for him, some fans may not be convinced with him that's there opinion and not a concern and certainly not something you should bang on about ever post you post. you moan about others repetitiveness are you not the same.
You can't change ones opinion and should not try to. Great game last night but there is still room for improvement and Farley will tell you that some can see it other don't which seems to rattle your case when they pointed them out. Opinion is just that.

Bielsa 20/ 21 seez W 18 D 5 L15.59 points. Which is more points than Farke has accrued
Whereas Farke has been backed both EPL seasons in transfer market.Radz and Co. let the side down with the 21/22 transfer window.plus we had crippling injuries to our key players.
Farke would struggle badly without say all four of DCL, Amps, Stach, Okafor out.

Which team / manager wouldn't struggle if you removed their four best players Baz. Pep struggled with just losing Rodri.
Villa, with one of the best managers in World football are struggling because they have lost their best players. You even say it above "God" Bielsa failed because of "crippling injuries."
We know you don't rate Farke, Baz.
For the rest of us, long may Daniel keep proving the doubters wrong.

I should add Baz, that Leeds spent €190M the two seasons that Bielsa was in the EPL; we have spent just over €200M with Farke. Allowing for inflation, and the stupid elevated prices today we actually spent more with Bielsa - he was hardly unsupported.

I think Farke is a better Manager than Bielsa.
I adored Bielsa and he was fantastic for us and I wished he wasn't sacked. But, for those piling criticism on Farke for being stubborn and having no flexibility, or plan B, well Bielsa's certainly trumps him for those flaws [not that I believe Farke has no plan B; he was second last season for points secured by substitutions]
It is a fact, Farke's two championship seasons were better than Bielsa's
It is very likely Farke's two seasons [as far as they have progressed] are likely to be better than Bielsa's
Farke's FA Cup exploits dwarf that of Bielsa's
We are very fortunate to have had both as Managers; clearly Bielsa brought us into the light; Farke is shining it brighter and brighter!

In my opinion Farke is a better manager than Bielsa. Doesn't mean that I don't rate Bielsa, I thank him for everything he did for our club. If you want to quote facts I think Bielsa's win rate was something like 47% and Farke 50% currently so not too much difference
Baz maybe Farke not proved he is a better manager to you, probably never will and if thats your opinion then fine.
But jeez, let's give Farke the credit he deserves, he's the manager we've got and I bloody loved that game last night.

For me Farke's best year as Leeds coach has been 2026 so far imo.

He played a grand total of 40 mins in Champo ( not even EPL ) and then the club cancelled his contract at end of the loan period in Champo. in no way should you be including Ortas incompetence with this player and fee as backing for Bielsa in EPL
"Super Mez" and others were also signed in Champo
Leeds spent £91 million in EPL summer window 2020
And £54 million in EPL summer window 2021
Bielsa was backed to an extent by Leeds in transfer market in EPL.but not enough.

I think the expression that Farke just stumbled on a formation out of the blue that magically worked is a tad disingenuous.
He was accused of being very stubborn when in the Championship and now when he did decide to try something different, which any good manager will do when a formation clearly isn't working, then he's accused of being lucky.
I believe Farke is vastly underrated, probably due to his two relegations with Norwich, a club that spent the bare minimum when promoted.
The 49er's see the qualities in DF and are giving him the funds this time for him to build a team that befits his ambitions, the signs are already very positive and it doesn't really concern me anymore of the fans who choose to doubt and degrade the process and the man who is employed to take Leeds United to a higher level.
So far so good, we will need more transfer windows to get up there to rock the Premiership boat but we are definitely making inroads.
Stability and a United work ethic will be the foundations to our success and I believe DF is the creator of that process.
Whiteman please don't read my posts if they upset you so much, you do have a choice.

They spent the money Baz. that's the point. Bielsa was supported. The irony is people were complaining about him here that he wanted and insisted on a small squad. Until this season, we spent more money with Bielsa than any other manager, and allowing for inflation, that's probably still the case.
The idea that Bielsa was let down with recruitment is simply untrue. Wasn't the other claim here that Victor wasted so much money? Can't have it always.

Who was/is best, Bielsa or Farke, for me the answer to that question is not straightforward. Bielsa was by the better coach, repeatedly finding qualities in ordinary Championship players that even they did not know they had, look at what he achieved with Bamford, Ayling, Dallas, Cooper etc. Farke however is the better manager, having demonstrated a willingness to change tactics where necessary, whereas Bielsa's big fault was that tactically he had no Plan B.
Some might say that Farke's tactical pragmatism is newly found following a damascene conversion at half time in the Man City game last season, but whatever the cause, it does partly explain our improved form. Whichever of the two one might favour, I'd still say our best ever manager/coach is a toss up between Don Revie and Howard Wilkinson.

I think it's too nuanced to say that farke is better than bielsa or vice versa. I don't think farke gets as much out of that original championship squad as bielsa did (yes with a few additions) . If bielsa came in with the parachute payments etc he might have had an even bigger impact. I think bielsa handles the gnonto Everton saga completely opposite to Farke. Off you go if you don't want to be here etc. not wrong just different. This squad is stronger than bielsas squad stars like Raph and kalvin aside. So what could he have done with stach, Ampadu etc. but there's no doubting after a rough first window not of his own making farke has been excellent overall.
People worry about farke leaving it's a real threat. Theres a few coaches I would look at though if that happened.
Kieran McKenna (bigger budget a proper coach, like what he did)
Glasner (no coach survives that forest owner for long)
Pochettino (if farke guides us to a top 10 finish I don't seriously think Poch wants another full WC at the US) .
Thats all only if farke leaves.

Had it all been a bit different with Bielsa BKB, i. e. he had left on his own terms after several more great seasons, I was convinced that he would have recommended Pochettino. I still think he would be a great manager for us.
However, I think, if he were to ever come back to the EPL, it would probably be back to Spurs, sadly. Still you never know, Spurs have another 10 managers to use up before that's likely!
