One win in our last EIGHT games.
ZERO rotation. Certain players for whatever reason not getting a look in.
At this rate and on this form Wolves will do us at ER.
If W ham win tonight everything changes.

With injuries considered, apart from Ao and Jaka, who is realistically good enough to start?
{Ed025's Note - I don’t think it’s about players Brighty it’s about set up and intent mate..

Apologies, Corkster, I've forgotten about Longstaff!

Competition for places, Brighty. Too many know they are going to start.
The whole of yesterday's bench has the capability to play a bigger part.
You mentioned three above, including AO, who, for some reason, has totally been frozen out while we continue to play two holding midfielders at home against mediocre opposition.

Agree Corkster. This game crying out for changes. Should have been a walk in the park before and after seeing the game. They all looked knackered. Amps. Bogle. Stach. Ba. Gruev. Even out of form dcl knew the Wimbledon tactics would mean he was going to run a lot and do nothing.
How can pretty much the same team do so well v city and be crap v Sunderland. Answer. Knackered.

I love how you call Sunderland mediocre, Corkey. We beat Forest and Fulham, but then lost to City and Sunderland, who have spent 29 matches and many more to come way above us in the table.
The eleven starters last night were the same eleven who probably put our best display against City. There was something off from the start, last night, for some very strange reason.
I don't know why we were so cautious.
Our bench is not great, and that's the difference at this level.
Sunderland had a plan and they stuck to it; whatever our plan was, we either didn't stick to it or didn't have one.
Wolves, Brentford, Burnley, and Brighton are all going to be very difficult games. I'm hoping for 2 wins from them and then a bonus somewhere away.

3 wins required and the sooner the better.

Ani, they had numerous injuries and their best player was on the bench. Mediocre, I believe, is about right?
I have to disagree that the M City game was our best display. A great first twenty minutes, and we put some pressure on at the end, but we looked knackered in between.

I think our lack of activity in January is being laid bare now. Goals are definitely an issue, and in tighter games taking whatever few chances you get is the difference over 90mins.
Games are won & lost on such fine margins. Saturday's loss was there for us, but we fluffed 2 great chances.
Baracus' good spell has now gone, he needs to be taken out of the starting lineup for me.
Gruev is nowhere near the level required, just truth in saying.
Again, I believe we failed in January, and I believe we will lose ground on our current 15th spot. It will go fairly close to the end before the 3rd down plug hole is decided.
Here's hoping we can stay up.

Last night was fairly typical of our performance so far this season. Against teams who come to play football, we do ok, and against those who, like Sunderland, come to park the bus, waste time, duck and dive and look to hit us on the break, we struggle. Don't see the potential for many more games like that this season.

I agree there, Jr. Which takes us back to the good ole' number 10 role: a game changer, and ability to split a defence, beat his man, find a blinder from nowhere. We need that role filling next season more than ever!

Real shame that we didn't loan a 10 in Jan, isn't it?

What is the craic with Buenosnoches, then?
Fitness? Application? Quality? If he's just crap, why did we chase him twice? Puzzled!

Sorry (again) - additionally, I tend to agree, Corkster, that rotation is a great thing, creating pressure and competition. Flipping, tho, is that, like OP pointed out, Tanaka and Longstaff have both been utterly gash when called upon of late. This weekend is the only game I'd consider starting them. Give Willy, DJ and Nmecha run outs, and the young left back whose name eludes me.

Aaronson and Amps have been rubbish last two games as well, Brighty.
