Leeds should have by now realised that delaying tactics like those in the Brandt case mean that the player is not interested. And they should spend their time chasing players who show interest. I'm sure that there are other players who wish to play for Leeds so the focus should be on those not on others who are only interested in the best offer.

Leeds's offer/package was better than that of Ajax. He himself, obviously, realised he wasn't cut out for the hustle & bustle of the Prem.

I have spent the last couple of weeks chuckling at how you boys would totally nail our transfer strategy. I appreciate your views on player performances in matches I can't get to, but, really, we are all pretty clueless about how Premier League transfers work, and our wingeing and pontificating will achieve nothing. Brilliant performance tonight, second half - how about we just support the lads and scream at every goal.

I don't fancy defending any throws or corners against Bujol, Tarik, Stach, DCL, Bournaw (who, by the way, was all round excellent today) . I really think we are on the cusp of something pretty special this year. Keep the faith and roar the boys on, rather than picking fault with something we know pluck all about.

Agree, Matt. Some players started to cement their first-team spots tonight. Bournaw and Longstaff (he's my player of the preseason so far) have to be starters. Despite the constant jibes about recruitment, 8 or 9 spots in the first team are getting nailed down.

We need some more players in for sure, but there's still more than a month to go in this window, and it's nowhere near as dire as some folks say, or even appear to want to support their narrative against the team and the manager.



I watched the game on LFC and it was quite amusing listening to their pundits as the game went on.

Also, I agree with Matt and Finch. I do think Brandt has opted for the easy option in his football career, which would already have told me that he would have failed in the Premiership.

Excellent post, Matt. Watched the game. Gary looks a steal at £34m. Browncow looked great, and Longstaff looks a man on a mission this season.

DCL looked hungry to continue proving his doubters wrong again.

Well done, E Farkey, too. He plugged gaps and got the press bob on second half.
