Pleased for them both, not surprised that Bogle wasn't included, he must be banging on the door though.
If Trafford wants the number 1 slot he needs to work on getting the ball out of his feet a lot quicker when under pressure, international forwards won't give him as must time. Everything else in his game is pointing towards taking over from the T-Rex.

Presuming the last 2 will have been KP and Paddy B if they were in the same squads. Sure with the injury records one of them will have been injured.

Don't feel Steele will play over Pickford or Trafford, if nothing else Trafford will train with most the worlds most lethal finishers.

DCL should get some game time but don't see any for Trafford.

Bamford played but Phillips was an unused substitute in that game against Andora.
It was Bamford's one and only appearance.
I checked it up and it 2002 with Mills, Bowyer and Smith in a friendly against Portugal.
Bit of useless information there ?
I thought living in the past Baz might have been on that ?.

eh its great but outside of world cup qualifiers these days I much prefer them playing for Leeds.

For them its great - a huge honour to play for the country and a reward for all the hard work. Its just my personal attachment to England is a lot lower than it was 10-20 years ago.

Part of it is I think the lack of jeopardy. These aren't world cup or euros qualifiers, or high-profile friendlies with Brazil, Germany, or Argentina. Even with World Cup Qualifiers and especially Euros, its very difficult for any team not called Italy to qualify. We could finish second or third in our qualifying group and make it.

Contrast that with qualifiers for 2002, the Greece Game, 2004 euros qualifiers where Turkey home and away was big, or 2006 qualifiers where we had to take maximum points in both legs against Poland. Or even 2008 and not qualifying at all.

For a lot of players I think the first 10-15 caps are the novelty and experience. Then if its not a meaningful qualifier they'd rather be resting. Expansion hasn't translated into better engagement for me.

But well done to DCL and Trafford, think they're both in the mold of 'I still love this' so absolutely chuffed for them. Just come back safe lads!
