Some links between Leeds and Conrad Harder of Leipzig appearing although we aren't the only club interested.

Underwhelming, unless he just wants to pad out the squad with a loan. He didn't last at Sporting L, and Leipzig don't have him in their plans. He won't push DCL or Nmecha.

I think the low net spend is sensible for now.

We've invested in undeniable quality over quantity right now compared to some clubs.

1. Look at how a big spend can hamstring a club under PSR/SCR, especially once they get into Europe where limits were 70% rather than 85%. Spurs and Newcastle are the prime examples of that. Our 2-3 year plan should see us aiming for Conference or Europa League football. We can't become the next Villa with the firesale they seem forced into.

2. I do think they are aiming for 2-3 more signings - a backup keeper, a LWB, and an opportunistic forward, wide or centrally. Aside from the keeper, I think the squad is adequate until January rather than impressive.

But, with the relatively low net spend, and the possibility of Perri (loan fee or permanent) and Ramazani departing, the net spend gets lower still and we have more scope to react to desperate teams or unlikely opportunities as they arise closer to the final day.

I think what is telling is that they've secured the main three signings they set out for in Trafford, Muharemovic and Wilson, and are content to let the rest of the world play out what remains of the window, and move if/when an opportunity arises. And the squad is generally solid enough for that to be an 'if'.

Bit more than £50M, Baz. Trafford £40M ish, Muharemovic £34M, Elvedi £8.5M. Less receipts for Schmidt, Harrison, Gelhardt and Piroe, it's still going to be around £70M net.

Most of the sites are counting Struijk's sale as this summer even if it falls into last year's accounting window. That explains why it's around £50m.

Indeed, Ealing, I was counting Struijk's sale also, so yes around £50 million net, JR. Not a lot at all comparatively, especially if it ends at that amount, which I believe it may well do so now.

Call me cynical, but I never believed Leeds were genuinely in for Paxo last seez or this, nor JSL in Jan window.

Including Struijk's fee in the calculations is incorrect, his fee fell in the 25/26 accounting year, which is why we're now at about £70M net for 26/27.

JR is correct. Our year end is 30th June, and so it falls outside the new SCR rules which started 1 July.

Not signing Charles wasn't a small slip up with the window now going crazy, and the price of mf shooting thru the roof. Would've made it possible to settle into a strong 5,3,2 and simplified the immediate attacking requirements. Gruev and Tanaka played 51 prem matches between them last season and might happen again. Very easy, big improvement opportunity squandered.

If the club identify a player and bring him in using the metrics they have employed the last three seasons, that player is a worthwhile signing. The club have nailed almost every signing, bar Perri.

Yorkshire Post Leeds reporter Tom Coates now says Leeds are not currently pursuing him. Leeds did contact RB Leipzig/check his availability, but the interest didn't develop beyond that initial enquiry.
