WC brings out some players' ability. I watched France v Iraq game. A sub brought on for Iraq, number 7, small player and only 22 y/o, but looks like he has skill.
Plays as right wing or AMF. Plays club football for Lanaka, but I think he would be a decent creative midfielder. Looking up his value, it's €500.

Beware the false promises of the WC. Better to ignore it and focus more on the longer term stats that we collect on players.

But not Shea Anderson's stats, cause they don't stack up. Think commentators said he was a live wire and made things happen. If we thinking same player, Mpaye or something.

Seeing a player have one or two good matches at the World Cup is not reason enough to sign him. A longer, more rational analysis of a player's ability is required. Mind you, if LUFC go into a World Cup following a particular player, you can bet your bottom dollar that he'll have a fantastic tournament, and interest in him, and his price will both go up.

Hearty congrats to Djed Spence for starting for England tonight.

Tuchel clearly rates him, even if Farkey and a few other detractors on here didn't.

Bielsa rated Meslier, Baz.. so he must have been a great keeper despite all the detractors?

Perhaps, it's as simple as Spence grew up, knuckled down and stopped being an unreliable?

I don't think there were any problems with the quality of his game; it was more to do with his attitude at that time. It was the same at Spurs; he totally stunk the place out.
I think, from what Spurs fans say, his time at Genoa, plus more maturity, has helped him, and he is a much improved player.

Spence's attitude stinks. He's more interested in living his best life than he is actually interested in playing football. He will eventually fade like Dele Alli and Balotelli, undoubtedly talented, but doesn't have the desire to be better.

I don't think that Spence wasn't rated, because he obviously had talent. It was just that if you can't turn up for training, team meetings and transport on time, then the discipline required within the club is out of the window.

He had history before he came to us. Farke obviously thought that he could reform him, but couldn't.
It didn't work out, which was unfortunate, but maybe he's grown up and seems to have got his career back on the rails.

Nah, Ani, Marcelo wasn't completely perfect.. for example.

He had a blind spot on gks, having wayyy too much faith in a couple of calamity gks, especially Kiko, and, to a lesser extent, Meslier.

Plus he had blooming Tyler Roberts playing ahead of King Pablo in EPL.

What everyone except Baz said. The issue wasn't his ability; he's always had that, but, as usual, you've only heard what you want to hear.
As others say, it was his disgusting, stinking, arrogant attitude, and the potential waste of that talent that irked the people with brains.

The disregard he showed to the "side before self" ethos, the shirking of responsibilities to the club and community, and a total lack of professionalism were obvious.
I would have thought that there were sufficient posts at that time to make that perfectly clear!?

Very OTT on DS character.

Yet Spuds, England and his other loan clubs elsewhere play him with no issues.

Well, Spuds played him because the rules say you must start a game with 11 players, and Spuds could barely do that.

England play him.. Well, perhaps they shouldn't. The manager obviously sees something, but, then again, the same manager picks James and Bellingham!
